This was great value and the pool, sauna and steam room were gorgeous. The breakfasts were huge and good quality. The room we had in the lodge was really lovely with lots of natural light. Overall a real find and I’d be happy to stay there anytime in Bournemouth.

While the housekeepers in the lodge and the staff in the bar / restaurant were really friendly and helpful, the staff on the desk at the pool and spa (who also book guests in) were pretty cold and I’d go so far as to say they seemed to feel lodge guests were a nuisance, and they were there for the club members only. They didn’t like to be disturbed by guests arriving at their desk. Such a shame as they are the ones making the first impression.

We have stayed with you around 7 times in the past few years as love the place location facilitates staff. Love everything about it and would still definitely come back but just had a couple of issues I wanted to point out from this particular stay.

We had a beautiful superior room in room 4. Everything was perfect apart from my partner is 6ft 4 and he bumped his head numerous times on drop ceiling , feel if there was a warning sign this could of been prevented. Also he could not use the shower as shower head did not raise high enough. Carpet was thread bear in one area. Apart from that stay was amazing as always.

Great room, very clean. Good shower. Room was serviced daily as requested. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Was very convenient to walk into Bournemouth from the back of the Lodge, literally only 15 mins. Good options for breakfast served with a smile.

We weren’t told about the step down into Room 1 nor were there warning signs outside the room and unfortunately my husband did miss said step and jar his back as we entered the room for the first time. Luckily he wasn’t too seriously hurt. I did report this to the Manager on leaving as I do feel guests need to be aware, she thanked me for telling her and then said that ‘she knows the step is there and forgets about it every time’ Not sure if anything will be done but I’m sure that to comply with health and safety regs there should be a warning outside the room. Just a little niggle for me was that there were no bath sheets, only bath and hand towels.

Every member of staff we came in to contact with was really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The room was clean on arrival and Housekeeping cleaned it every day and topped up tea/coffee etc. Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. We also had an evening meal and drinks in the clubhouse and these were reasonably priced. The property was close to the town centre and only about a 12 minute walk to the beach.

There’s nothing we specifically didn’t like. Our only comment would be that although the room was cleaned well daily, it was a little tired. However, this in no way spoilt our stay, it is just an observation being completely truthful. We will definitely be staying again

Great staff and wonderful welcome. Comfy bed and pool and steam room and sauna excellent. Delicious curry in clubhouse bar.

Had hoped for more of a hotel and certainly a room with lovely view for my elderly sister in law (for whom this was a massive treat after tragically losing her son) but her room was very ordinary - broken blind meant she couldn't see out (no windows in room other than just a glazed door). As she is elderly I'd hoped for a.walk.in shower as she couldn't get into and out of a bath - there was only a.bath. Duvets a bit thick and not light. Our rooms weren't serviced until I requested. Lovely lady came and serviced them after I mentioned this. Although club house staff and reception were warm and super helpful and accommodating, we had hoped for a more hotel like set up/restaurant and it was more a sports bar at a smart golf club. We were after table cloths and afternoon tea! Shame.

Decent size room with small walk in closet for clothes. Comfortable king size bed, view of trees outside window.,On edge of beautiful golf course , perfect for morning walk around perimeter and adjacent woodland. Excellent breakfast choice in pleasant bistro at golf clubhouse 50m walk . 15-20 mins walk to Bournemouth centre. Nice thick talk curtains,

Room 1 upstairs and very busy main A-road 100m away through trees. As BH weekend, constant traffic noise until 2am Fine if windows closed and heavy curtains drawn. Not good if not nights. Needs a fan. Also bathroom need blind to cut out light.

Clean comfortable and quiet accommodation. Very near town but if walking it 2 or 3 minutes walk down a very dark lane ,or a short cut through woods. Torch is useful. Food at bar is reasonably priced. Breakfast was good. Bar and breakfast room is in the gym building which is separate to the lodge. If you need anything you have to go across to it and ask. Rooms serviced on request. It feels more like self catering accommodation without those facilities than a hotel. Plugs in room were behind the kettle and under a desk in an awkward place. Beds were on soft side but obviously new and bedding was good. Towels were small and should be replaced. We went in December in poor weather it was nice and warm in the room.

Very dark access road and short cut. Pool is only 1.5 metres deep just for lanes and is down a flight of stairs so may not suit anyone with mobility issues although there was a stair lift.

Easy to get to everywhere from the property. Although it was at the top of a steep hill so not good for anyone with walking difficulties. The lodge is separated from the main reception & swimming pool etc so not noisy. Rooms are large and had everything you needed. Staff very friendly and attentive. Goid could be bought on site in restaurant bar & at very good prices. Had a lively meal there one night food was great. The pool sauna and steam room were a bonus & very clean.

We were in room 8 so didn’t have to go into building to get to it but would have liked the windows to open a little further to let air in as it was very warm during our stay. But only a very minor niggle. As everything else was great.

The premium rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. The standard rooms are a tad snug and poor design (no mirror near plug points so hard to use hairdryer/straightners). Well equipped gym and pool although no time to use due to business commitments. The bar terrace is very pleasant for a pre-dinner drink before going into the centre. Breakfast very good and nice to have a full vegan breakfast on the menu.

The access to the town centre is under a short bypass area. Although a short walk I would not feel as comfortable using this cut-through after dark if alone as steps through unlit wooded areas. The standard rooms (15/16) are located to the left of the lodge on slippery leaf covered steps. Mis-directed by our check-in receptionist as there is an alternative less hazardous steps at the rear of the lodge if you take the right hand pathway. Would have appreciated him imparting this information. Perhaps an illustrative site map for future guests?

Staff - EXCEPTIONAL service - this really was the highlight of the stay Breakfast - Excellent - We had full English's, 1 meat 1 veggie, BOTH delicious and plenty of it! There was continental as well providing pastries, cereals etc which we dabbled in too! Room - Clean, comfortable with some everything we needed. We forgot shampoo however the room provides this along with a hairdryer. Spa facilities - Enjoyable and clean. We used the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Location - 13 min walk from town centre! It was raining heavy so sometimes we drove and it was a 5 min drive to Charminster Rd where there was an amazing Turkish restaurant we went to, which we will be going back to. I can't emphasise enough about how awesome the staff were. All of the above wouldn't be as enjoyable if the staff's service/attitudes were not good. Each and everyone of them made a conscious effort to make us feel welcomed and cared about! They went above and beyond. I'll say it again - they were EXCEPTIONAL ☆☆☆☆☆

Wifi - this is literally the only thing that was poor quality but probably because the lodge was fully booked and there are so many gorgeous trees surrounding it. This does not stop us from coming back though! If you like to sleep in complete darkness then I would advise an eyemask as the outside corridor light is on all through the night and there wasn't a blind on the door window. Again, this isn't something that bothered us as it helped us see our way to the bathroom in the middle of the night 😆
