Novotel Coventry

The interior of the hotel and room was lovely and clean. Very spacious and ample amount of plug sockets at every common point in the room. The hotel could do with an exterior makeover though. The staff were lovely and talkative, the air control system was so good as it had numerous settings to help climatise the room to your personal needs.

The TV could have been bigger and more modern. No netflix app which i think should be standard for most hotels these days, The remote didnt work, (literally the on button and thats all) The lamp didn't work as we wanted to use it as our main night light but has to resort to something else in th room. So i think that was just for show. Shower gel was empty, which was annoying as me and my partner were both in a rush and were relying on those facilities just to find they weren't available or replenished

As me and my partner walked in we was checking in and my booking from booking.com wasn’t on their system yet which the lady explained and said that she will get us a room ready now I had no problem at all waiting and the wait was about 5 mins maximum. We went to our room and come back down to the bar the lady who checked us in gave us 2 free drinks voucher and apologised for the wait and also added breakfast to our room unfortunately we wasn’t able to make it to the breakfast in time but the customer service was amazing and we definitely did not expect a Sri an voucher

Unfortunately our tv batteries for the remote ran out but it was no problem as we could of gone downstairs and asked for some more but we was not fussed also the bed was a little hard for us as we are used to a softer mattress

We were allowed to check in early, but there was a problem in which they could not find our booking on the system as booking.com hadn't sent over the booking information, but this was rectified quickly, thankfully. We received complimentary drinks and breakfast as an apology which was lovely of the staff, so I could not fault the friendliness and service of the team. Our room was ultra clean and comfortable with an ironing board which was handy! The shower was great too. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, from cereal, full English breakfast, tea, coffee, and other continental items. Checkout was very quick and easy too. I honestly could not fault the service and facilities, especially the staff, who were exceptional.

I tried to order room service but there was no answer.

Room was spotless. Incredibly good quality for cost. Air con was perfect and the bathroom had serious wow factor. Bed was comfy. Plenty of space in the room with lots of storage. The fridge was a really useful bonus too. The restaurant served a fantastic quality breakfast and I just really enjoyed the venue as a whole. Had a premium feel but a comfortable atmosphere.

The on site gym is a very basic one but I didn’t chose this venue for that so it’s fine. If I’m being picky the tv/freeview didn’t really work great and the remote was very intermittent (probably batteries)

Breakfast was nice. Although could have been kept warmer. I requested from a waiter that my breakfast be re-heated in the microwave. Garden view from our room was a lovely bonus.

Did not appreciate the adjacent interlocking door to another room. Carpet in dire need of updating (very stained and dirty). Fridge did not work (no temperture controls). No TV control in room (but was provided upon request). Pillows were hard and lumpy. The sink in bathroom had a foul smell. Parking should be FREE. All the ashtrays in the garden area were over flowing with ciggrette butts and should have been emptied on a regular basis. Garden furniture old/worn out, children play area needs modernising, grass needed mowing and floor/patio area needs sweeping and de-weeding.

this is my 3rd stay with novotel Coventry and every time the staff have been lovely and go above and beyond to help. we brought food from a local Chinese and the hotel provided us with plates and cutlery for it, which was very kind. the hotel is lovely and clean. big spacious rooms and lovely facilities, lovely comfy beds and nice desks and sofa to sit at, lovely choice of lights, very modern. felt safe and comfortable in the hotel. i love the hotel and one staff member in particular named josh helped me very much and signed me up to a rewards programme with the hotel. id definately come back and also suggest to other people to stay here. overall id rate a 9/10 from all my previous stays too.

my mom had to keep going back and forth to the lobby to collect teabags and milk , at one point a member of staff a lady tried to charge her £2.80 for a single teabag and the woman wasn't very helpful. bath plug was missing but easily replaced by a member of staff. a cleaner walked in on my mom whilst she was getting out the shower. heard some banging whilst trying to sleep at night.

The room was lovely and clean and on the ground floor the view was nice too. The shower in the room was amazing

The mattress on the bed was very hard and the pillows were uncomfortable didn't sleep well at all . There was not enough tea coffee or milk in the room. I did find the reception staff hard work aswell they were all miserable and the woman who I presume was a manager was quite rude to a member of staff and even asked another member of staff if she had been rude which she had. Also there was no one on reception to greet us we had to wait a while until someone came out of a door behind reception and they all disappeared off outside smoking aswel. I work in a hotel and I was quite taken aback at the customer service

I stayed at the Novotel for two nights, using the hotel as a base for attending the Arnold Clark Cup matches at the Coventry Building Society Arena (20 minutes walk from the Hotel) and to walk the Coventry Canal to Bedworth and then back to the Arena. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful with someone on reception on arrival and departure. Both the hotel and room were well-maintained, and the room was very comfortable and clean, and all appliances (shower, kettle and TV) worked. The room was very quiet and I had an undisturbed eight hour sleep on both nights. The room faced the M6 motorway but I could only hear the Motorway faintly. There is a car park on-site and I didn’t have any problems in finding a space to park the car. The Novotel was well lit at night and I could see the entrance as I came off the roundabout from the M6. I did not have breakfast at the hotel but both evening meals were good.

There were no issues I noted for improvement. The price for breakfast seemed expensive, compared with Premier Inn or Travelodge, and so I declined. However, no doubt it would have been good if it matched the quality of the evening meal. There is a £5 car parking charge, for which other hotels do not charge separately , but, then again, other hotels may be adding the cost to the hotel price.

This was a great hotel, clean and very spacious. On arrival instantly surprised with the look (very clean and modern) staff were attentive and great. This hotel had car parking, park for children out the back and a little gaming table for them too. This made our check in etc so much easier as our son was occupied with this. We were so impressed by breakfast buffet in the morning too!

Nothing springs to mind, my sister in law was upstairs and said other guests were very noisy playing music etc however that wasn't to do with the hotel as such. So I honestly couldn't find a fault.

Location was great for what we needed, the rooms were very spacious, the beds were comfy,

I asked to check in at an earlier time and agreed to pay the extra but when we got there was told we couldn’t as the rooms weren’t ready, someone could have rung or messaged me to let me know as we wouldn’t have set out as early, we arrived for 1pm check in but couldn’t till 3pm, we came for the football match so didn’t get into the rooms till 9pm, if I had have known I would have cancelled the bookings and gone straight home, I did early bookings to be able to relax and freshen up before going out, this was annoying at the time, we used the toilets to try and freshen up they were untidy
