Eliza House

The room was huge compared to other rooms in other hotels we stayed in. And the towels were SOFT! I hate crunchy towels so I was pleasantly surprised. The water pressure was good, the WiFi was good. We had room number 1 across from the front desk. No refrigerator in the room but they kept our cold stuff in their fridge located in their office for us! The location was great, end of the street and around the corner is a bus stop, on the other side of the street as well. Haymarket train station is just around the corner as well, about a two minute walk. Plenty of convenience stores and places to eat. Very close to Princess Street and the Castle. I would definitely stay again.

Great location by Haymarket station. In another location it would shockingly overpriced but given how expensive accomodation is in Edinburgh this was absolutely fine for the price we paid. Water was warm, beds comfy, room clean. Tea/coffee selection good. No issues with check in. Friendly staff

The room heating didn't work, a free standing electric heater had been provided but it didn't have a timer or a thermostat meaning that it was very cold then very hot! We knew in advance about the limited breakfast options and made other arrangements I'd actually prefer to pay a bit less and not have "breakfast" included.

We were there to see Bruce Springsteen. This place was so handy for Haymarket station. Walking distance to murrayfield.so perfect location. We arrived at 12, hoping to leave our luggage.. Staff were lovelythey let us check in early .They were very friendly and helpful. The room was big with everything we could have wanted .Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotless and looked newly decorated. I felt this place was great value for money. Will definitely return . Location very good, frequent buses, we put car in car park about 15 mins walk away and were pleased that the car park was locked over night. The train station was around the corner. There were a lot of very good restaurants nearby. The guy in the front desk was very kind, even offering to carry our bags up to our room while we went and parked car. Hotel was old and had a lot of character. Good shower

Although the bed and sheets etc. were very clean, I feel that the room could have been cleaner, like the radiators were dirty and the door was too. Also it's a bit of a squeeze sitting on the toilet.lol

Strange smell in the corridor at the groundfloor.

We had a lovely spacious room with a gorgeous tree right outside the window. Our stay was split in two parts, and upon hearing how we loved the tree, the manager graciously gave us the same room when we returned. Comfy and cozy and SO well situated for trains and restaurants and everything you could need! We loved our stay at Eliza House.

Only one small thing: the hot water faucet was loose and a bit difficult to turn on and off—could be easily repaired :)

Big room, stylish bed, huge wardrobe space. Clearly recently redecorated. Mugs not cups for morning tea and pastries to pick up in the foyer. Good location--city centre is walkable (10-15 mins) and buses and trams are frequent. Hotel 0staff super helpful and friendly.

Plumbing was quite noisy and for a while I thought there was no hot water (until I realised I had to turn the taps on full!). Not unusual in old buildings though

Very good location, close to the center and the tram to the airport. Very nice and helpful staff. Very fancy room on the 4th floor (75 steps) keeps you in shape :). On the coronation day (May the 6th) we got a special coronation doughnuts, yummy. Very good price/performance ratio.

We would appreciate the equipment to hang the (wet) towels in the bathroom.

Friendly staff, easy check in, little snacks of a morning to take on our little walks. Perfect location. Really quiet. Loved how it had a little bit of character. Would defo book again

Shower was a bit crazy and we ended up with a soaked bathroom causing one of us to slip. All fine tho. Beds where really comfy just could do thicker pillows I'm sure I could have asked for a few more but I just got on with it haha.

Loved the location. Walking distance to downtown Edinburgh. Excellent restaurants close by. Vibrant area. Room was very large and spacious.

It’s old and a little shabby, but lovely. No lift so be prepared to carry your bag up lots of stairs.
