White Hart Inn

The customer service was exceptional. Ironbridge is in a flooding area and on the morning of my visit, the hotel rang me to tell me which car park to use (above any potential flooding) and that I shouldn't be alarmed to see flood barriers in place outside the pub. This was all reassuring. I was shown to a lovely room - recently renovated - with all the comforts (TV, ensuite, tea/coffee, wine glasses) that you would expect. Even though my room was above the bar, it wasn't noisy. I didn't eat here because I was meeting friends but the menu looked varied and local. I did have a drink and the staff were really friendly and informative. I was amazed to find the river at least 10 feet higher in the morning but the bank had not been breached and the barriers look really sturdy. I had a well cooked and presented full English breakfast -so good I didn't eat again until the evening. The hotel does have a rear exit up the hill, so no one would ever be stranded. And the hotel is over 500 years old and imbued with history. What more could you want? History, a lovely town, lovely refurbished rooms which retain historic character and good customer servie.

The hotel is located on the main street and has easy walking to many of the village attractions. You can park at the front to unload cases and there is short term street parking across the road. To have long term parking for the car you need to be on the other side of the famous bridge. It's a few minutes to drive there but just a short walk back. Parking is free after 5.00 p.m. Ironbridge has plenty of local district attractions. Good hotel style breakfast and we had a room overlooking the river.

Guest parking would be a help, but if not an option then help with a voucher for the long term park would be good.

The room this time was much bigger than when we stayed before, we had a great big window and a lovely bed, bathroom was brilliant too. The restaurant in the hotel serves fantastic food, the staff are Great, the location is great too. We go to shows at Telford international centre and use this as our base.

The radiator did not work. We did go downstairs and they said they would turn it on but it didn't come on, resulting in a cold night and morning. We then went for breakfast but the chef wasn't in, so it was just toast. We paid for breakfast in the price of the room and they were not going to take it off until I brought it up. We had a nice stay here last time and this time with the heating and breakfast we were disappointed. We would probably stay again but will try somewhere else first. I also had to ask for the 10% off our food bill from the evening before to be taken off as stated on the website.

The White Hart Inn is in a really great position halfway between The Iron Bridge and the Museum of the Gorge. The room was advertised as a small double, but I felt there was plenty of room. It is an old building and the room had a charming cast iron fireplace and a lovely deep pile carpet. The room was really comfortable and included a good size double bed, TV, wi-fi, desk, wardrobe and table for making hot drinks-wine glasses were also supplied. The walk in shower was a good size and some lovely eco-friendly toiletries were provided. The room was very clean and was tidied each day. The Inn provided a key to a separate entrance which meant we did not have to walk through the pub itself which is useful if you have children with you. I stayed during the week and although the room overlooked the Inn courtyard, the pub was not open late so my sleep was not disturbed by any noise from the customers. All the staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Cereal, yoghurt and orange juice were supplied and the option of toast, tea, coffee and a full english breakfast of egg, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, beans, tomato, hash brown and black pudding. The chef was also happy to cook me bacon and egg on toast when I didn't feel like the full breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent breakfast included in the price. Room well decorated with good facilities. Good quality evening meal served on the patio area in excellent weather. Although the rooms were well ventilated, staff made fans available in the room to counter the effects of the warm evening.

No parking available at the hotel. but were advised beforehand that parking was available a short distance away on a public car park.

Our stay was perfect. We needed a nice quiet, romantic, cosy night away and we got that and more. We had intentions of going for drinks and making the most of ironbridge in the evening and early morning but didn’t becuase the bed was that comfy we stayed in bed and had an early night. The breakfast was gorgeous and the staff were so welcoming and lovely. The rooms were perfect. The location couldn’t get any better. The stay was perfect and exactly what we both needed. We will definitely be coming again and so will all our friends and family ☺️

Breakfast excellent, refills on tea, friendly staff. Nice central position in town. Fresh milk available on request for drinks in room, or ice. Comfy large bed.

Scalding hot shower, difficult to control temperature. Over bath shower unsuitable for elderly access. Attempts were made by staff to control temperature. Should advise that rooms are available with walk in shower if preferred. Only complaint.

Location

Bathroom needs a refurbishment in the family room. It was very dusty and could have been cleaner which is a pity as bedrooms are spotless.

Location was perfect, just across from the iconic bridge. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional.

In a perfect world we would've liked a lift... however the building is hundreds of years old so it wouldn't have been possible and the lovely member of staff helped us with carrying the buggy downstairs. We will definitely stay here again, absolutely faultless.

Breakfast was a choice of cereal & yoghurt followed by a full English, high quality food, well cooked. It was possible to request any combination of items, I had bean on toast one morning, and mushrooms on toast another. The room was large and comfortable, with a lovely view over the river, nicely decorated, with plenty of tea/coffee. We had dinner on the 3rd evening and it was good restaurant quality food. The staff were all very friendly, especially the lady who served breakfast

We could not eat at the hotel on the Sunday or Monday because there was no chef on, but that may be because it's early season, and also because they were awaiting a new chef to start. There were other good places to eat a short walk away so it was not a problem. We were nervous of there being no parking, but there were 2 long stay car parks available within 5 minutes walk and it was cheap to park for 24 hours (£2.90/ £4)
