Lovely breakfast with a good selection of fresh fruit, cereals and hot food

I have worked in retail customer service and within the NHS with an expected high level of customer satisfaction. The majority of staff at your hotel were absolutely fine but, when I am stood at the bar for 10minutes and to be not acknowledged by the member of staff that was making up an order then that in my opinion is VERY rude!!! Also when I am told ‘I will find a table for 2 for you’ and we are left waiting for 30minutes and ask another member of staff and they find a table straight away!!! Little tweeks of customer service’ an acknowledgment and a smile goes a very long way.

1. The location was exceptional. Perilous road driving in but well worth it for a beautiful hotel right on the beach. It was fantastic being so close to the water with beautiful views all around. On the beach is an old boat house which serves coffees and sandwiches which also hires SUP/kayaks which was really handy. 2. Facilities. Perfectly thought out facilities: an abundance of loungers, seating both in the sun and under cover. The pool, spa and sauna were impeccably kept. There were always towels on hand, a wash tap at the hotel and pop up chairs available for the beach which as great. The room was really well appointed with coffee machine, complimentary gin and tonic, daily ice. The whole hotel is maintained to a brilliant standard and the transport to Salcombe was really well thought out too. 3. Staff. Such professional, efficient and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. There were some very demanding guests, all still being treated kindly and with great professionalism. The staff are a credit to the hotel and really added to our stay. One of the few hotels were you could stay and be perfectly entertained without going anywhere. 4. Relaxing. We were able to totally unwind and relax thanks to how well everything was set up. It was really the perfect get away.

Nothing to complain about at all. While expensive it was worth it given all of the facilities and the great location.

There was a very good selection for breakfast. The lady member of staff in the spa was very helpful. The receptionist at check-in was very welcoming and showed us to our room. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view. There was ample free parking. The spa was very enjoyable and relaxing. The complimentary local gin and tonic was a nice touch.

The access to the hotel was a bit difficult. Evening meals were very expensive and the added service charge was unnecessary ( I will choose how much I want to tip). Someone walking into our room at 8 o'clock in the morning and when we complained to reception, their reply was unacceptable.

it’s position on the beachfront is excellent. our room was very comfortable and even though our room was facing the rear it had a great view. the late afternoon sun on our balcony was superb to have a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. we loved sitting on the sun beds in the afternoon looking out into the beach. the shuttle bus into Salcombe worked very well. this was needed as the walk to Salcombe about 35 mins was quite tiring given the gradient of the hills to get there. the spa was really nice- lovely pool and steam room /jacuzzi etc. lovely bath robes. well stocked in room bar and the free gin in the room is a nice touch but for us was unnecessary. the driver of the shuttle bus Jack was excellent- really was good as a front face for the hotel.

we had some issues with the restaurant. our order for dinner and breakfast were lost- twice!! the staff really tried hard to manage this difficult situation but we do feel the kitchen let down the overall stay to some extent. we did not feel the continental breakfast buffet was good enough and was quite sparse. little touches were needed. the hot food when it came was good. problem if u wanted a bath- no loose soaps or dispensers so you had to stand up to use!! due to the issues we faced the hotel kindly did not charge us for our “ extras” which was a nice touch and was appreciated.

There was a lot of choice for breakfast but I absolutely love a fried breakfast and that is what I had each day and it was excellent. My wife enjoyed the choices available for the continental breakfast They coped well with my dietary requirements (Coeliacs disease) The evening meals were delicious with a wide range of choice. The air conditioning was quiet and effective. The double bed was huge and very comfortable. The views from the hotel are stunning; it is in a beautiful location with the beach a stone's throw away. There were a number of sunbeds available and the outside eating/drinking area was large and excellent. We loved the indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room. We had a wonderful time.

A 12.5% service charge was applied to all purchases (drinks and food) on the bill and although this was optional I would have preferred to be given a choice before or at the time of being presented with the bill. The range of drinks that were available e.g. Draft Beer and Cider were restricted to Salcombe produced drinks with alternatives provided for Pimms and the like. These drinks were good but I would have preferred a good old pint of Thatchers Gold!

The location was the main reason for picking this hotel, as there are only two on South Sands. Very peaceful, and facing a stunning white sand beach but with Salcombe in easy reach. The hotel is really well appointed, beautiful furnishings and themed artwork, and the finish of all areas is excellent. Friendly helpful staff and good food. A free mini bus service into Salcombe - a real bonus in summer season, plus the water taxi service operating from the beach- therefore car use at a minimum.

There could have been more loungers in the Spa pool area otherwise very satisfied overall.

Excellent trendy Spa hotel. Wonderful location - practically on the beach. Well appointed rooms with super comfy beds and luxury bedding. Great to have a shuttle service for guests to travel to Salcombe village. Car park staff/shuttle drivers are a great asset. All staff very friendly and helpful.

The menu for lunch and dinner is the same and is rather limited. Restaurant staff require additional training in service and the brand is being let down if it fails to address this. There is a slight disconnect between a luxury presentation but service not quite being on point. This is something that could be easily achieved. I would have no issue in recommending B&B but evening dining service requires some fine tuning.

Harbour Beach Club , Hotel & Spa is exceptional. The hotel is in a great location right by the beach, just a few minutes to a breathtaking hiking trail with great cliff and ocean views. The hotel was clean with beautiful art and interior. Majority of the stuff were lovely, especially front of house the red head (forgot the name) who checked us in was exceptional. Also loved the ferry right by the beach that took us to Salcombe town with great views from the water.

Some of the restaurant staff weren’t as friendly. I had a massage in the spa which was nice enough but felt overpriced for what it was. The ambience in the massage room could have been better e.g soothing music , ended having a chat with the massage therapist which was fine but would have preferred something more relaxing to completely switch off. Also thought the food could have been better.

The hotel is really fabulous - rooms great, bed extremely comfortable/massive. The pool was lovely, and location opposite the beach fantastic. Ate dinner here + also at the sister hotel in town, both lovely meals. The staff were a highlight: everyone exceptionally friendly, welcoming + professional, they are a huge credit to the hotel. Elsewhere: lunch at the Winking Prawn was lovely, shame we didn't book ahead for the Crab Shed which which had no availability. The Distillery also requires booking ahead despite it being a cold February weekend! A long walk on the costal path north, from the golf club up to Bantham bay is amazing with views of Burgh Island. Another long walk from Mill bay to Gara Rock hotel for lunch highly recommended.

Loved it all - the only thing to add is that I suspect in summer the pool will be crowded and more seating / loungers required, though they possible open/connect to outdoor area then (not so in Feb!).

Lovely location! Easy to get around. The bed was super comfy and everything was very clean. The hotel was not packed and therefore use of spa space was great and peaceful.

The restaurant. The staff was absolutely amazing however the food was not great at all for the price. We had from salads, burgers and pastas. All the mains were £20 ish in price and not only the size was small on the plate, food was also very average. The breakfast buffet however was brilliant The staff were amazing at all times !
