Location is by the lake. For the size of the place and how many other people were staying there it was extremely quiet and peaceful.

The windows are covered with a mesh see through type screen which allows you to see out but still have privacy. But at night time if you have a light on in your room people passing by could be able to see in, I had a ground floor room and noticed at night it was possible to see images in the bathroom window. Ground floor bathrooms should have a privacy option to block the view from outside.

Excellent, huge room - including a lounge, kitchen bathroom and bedroom. Old fashioned design and furniture, but comfortable. A beautiful place, and it felt like a privilege to stay here, if only for one brief night.

Unfortunately we checked in later than expected, and had to leave early, so this review is only based on the room. We didn't know the entire facility was non-smoking, which made it difficult for me as a smoker, and we were on the third floor of one of many blocks, which was tough carrying heavy luggage up the stairs (no lifts) after a long day's driving. There is also no restaurant on site, which is surprising. We didn't want to drive again to find food, and it was after 8pm when we arrived. We expected a lakeside lodge - thanks to the pictures on booking.com - but found ourselves in a room three floors up, overlooking the car park. Having said all that, the staff we met were wonderful, super friendly, and the location *is* beautiful.

This place was such a wonderful place. The location was great. The staff was super friendly. They had a family room with ping pong tables, foosball tables and a lot of activities to do. An indoor heated pool and a Jacuzzi. Daily activities. I mean, this place had it all. I cannot wait to go back again.

The only thing we didn't like was that they didn't have extra pillows and had to wait some time to get clean towels.... But honestly that still was not a big deal. We did go on a holiday weekend so I'm sure that is why the shortage of stuff.

A fully equipped apartment, on the lake and with 2-hot tubs, and an indoor pool all for the price of a motel room on the strip... what's not to like! And with many of the units occupied by full-time residents/owners there was noticeable laid-back, friendly vibe... a good time was had by all! We as well, appreciated the free coffee/tea + popcorn in the lobby... and enjoyed the 'eagle' lake tour with Diane.

The water quality in the pool+hot tubs required more attention as we both experienced minor post-pooling 'itchy' skin and the outdoor spa area was a bit 'grungy'. Do be aware that the Big Bear area is located @ 7000+ feet of elevation, which can be problematic for some.

Location of the Lodge was great, since it was near the lake. Easy to find my room after I figured out the stairways. Only used the elevator to bring in and move out my luggage. Staff was excellent and knowledgeable. I would definitely choose to stay at this location in the future. Other people staying at the Lodge were very friendly.

Would like to have had spices in my unit for cooking. (Will bring my own in the future.)

We had a night to kill before we had to be at another event and wanted to check out Big Bear. We stumbled upon the Lagonita Lodge and fell in love with the place. The friendly staff, the other quests we met, and the charm of the lake drew us in. We cannot wait to return.

Apparently we picked a magical time when the crowds were light.but can imagine it being very very busy as most popular magical places can be. But even big crowds won't keep us away.

Location by the lake and view were great. I really liked that the lodge was close to Big Bear city and activities for the kids. The room was very nice and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped.

The biggest problem was the handicap room was far from the elevator and with ramps going up and down to our room. I have a handicapped husband in a wheelchair that I have to push up and down the ramps! The bathroom was ill equipped too.

Pretty much everything. Loved the view to the lake. The water was perfect for swimming. Staff really nice and helpful. The flat was very clean and had everything you could think of.

Annoying flies in the building, but it is not the hotel's fault. The entrance to the lake is covered with pebbles, so it is difficult to walk barefoot.

location. lake views. boats available for rent in the property with access to the lake. near the center of Big Bear. close to restaurants, shops, bawling alley, zoo. etc. sown attractions close during spring and summer but available during winter.

the property is a bit dated but the price reflects it. the staff was super friendly and will defiantly come again.

I love this lakefront property. We were not at the lake front unit to start with. Luckily someone didn't show and with staff's help they moved us to the lake front unit which has a side lake view. It made ALL the differences. The unit is big and comfortable for my husband and I and one child sleeping on pull out sofa bed. I can see people could complain about being old/style but I have to say it's so clean and in the kitchen they have everything you need and I did not notice anything negative. They have all sorts of board games, DVDs you can rent, snacks....We pretty much rent DVDs every night/games/snacks and at day 9 when we checked out, our overall total were very reasonable. We will be back.
