Owner was super nice, friendly, and welcoming! Room huge, super clean, and quiet too! I was getting ready for bed after midnight when there was a knock at my door (had just gotten in from 4th of July fireworks), little freaky, but when I looked out the peephole, it was the owner who told me the dome light was still on in my car! (He had tried calling and texting but I had my "do not disturb" on.) He told me he always checks everything before he shuts down for the night. Seriously, you would never get that kind of service and care at a Best Western or Hyatt!!! Was just there overnight but would not hesitate to book there again.

Nothing....

I am not aware that breakfast was an option. The owner was very friendly and accomadating-we arrived early and rooms together were not available near the office (wi-gi sketchy away from office). We first chose to be near office, then changed to having rooms next to each other and he was very gracious with all of this. The beds were comfortable, rooms were very clean-a little dated but it was obvious that upgrades were being made.

The people next to us were outside our door talking-they weren't being loud but you could clearly hear them up until about 10 pm.

The room and experience completely matched my expectations, based on my personal criteria and reading customer reviews. My grandmother once owned a motel where I occasionally helped with cleaning rooms, so I know how things should be. My room (#4) was suitably furnished and super clean, including the appliances. The bed was quite comfortable (full disclosure - I brought my own pillow by choice).

Just two minor things were inconveniences, but did not affect my scoring. 1) The shampoo packets were nearly impossible to open, I ended up using my teeth. (Very carefully.) 2) The news channel I really wanted to watch was locked out for an unknown reason.

The price for this nostalgic little road-side motel was a great find. It was 5 minute drive from the Lake and like a two minute drive into the nice town of Westfield. We just stayed for the night and it provided all we needed. Bonus was the shower's temp and water pressure which rivaled that of 5 stars.

I booked the morning of stay, and paid upon booking, yet they still asked for my card to pay at check-in. I'm certain it was an innocent error, due to the last minute booking, but whether you paid or not is something to be aware of on checkin.

This was our second time staying at the historic Theater Motel. The rooms are a nice size, very clean, tidey and easy on your wallet. The couple that operate the Motel are awesome and easy to find and if you have a issue there on it.. Located close to the village's restaurants, antique shops and other amenities. The surrounding area of NY is absolutely scenicly beautiful. Rolling hills covered with miles or grape vines. Historic sights, small towns, winery, brewery, and distilleries. There is also great beaches, horseback riding, shopping and Locals always make you feel welcome. Will be back again and again... I❤NY!

If I had to be picky and find a flaw I would say "new shower heads."

The place was super clean and the owners are great. Cool old historical site where an old drive in used to be. There is a train nearby and you get to hear its horn a lot. Otherwise a great little mom and pop motel.

Doors don't seal very well and no way to block out the outside lights so the room was not at all dark for sleeping. And stay away from the fishermen. They stay up late and are up early and noisy.

For the price, the room was very good. It was clean, simple, and fine. The bed was comfortable and the television had better channels choices than many higher priced hotel chains.

The only criticism I have is about the parking. There should be some line demarcation designating the parking for each unit. Some cars parked in different positions outside the rooms, creating some confusion.

Charming and so pleasant! It shows you how nice a place is when it is built of real materials and not prefab corporate garbage. The manager is first class.

No dislikes. All nice. But I did need a better lock on the door. It’s a safe place, though.

It is a neat old motel on the site of an old drive in movie theater. The owner checked me in and was very nice and helpful. The room was comfy and clean.

I mean the rooms were dated but we didn't really care; it was appropriate for the authenticity and charm of the place. Everything was clean. We slept soundly. It's a very charming and pretty town.

I arrived during a snowstorm, no surprise this time of year. At check-in I spoke with the wife of this independently owned motel. She apologized profusely because my requested room was unavailable due to intermittent heating. No big deal to me. They had another perfect room available. The parking lot, and space for parking, were plowed and ready for arrival. After checking in I received a call from the husband, asking if the accommodations were up to my expectations, which they were. I was assured when I return my previously requested room would be ready for my arrival. The care and concern of the owners are above and beyond any expectations. I feel like family! If you are looking for clean and cozy accommodations at an affordable rate, I highly recommend Theater Motel.
