Holiday Inn Express Hickory - Hickory Mart, an IHG Hotel

Breakfast was good, with the hot food alternatives changing every day. The beds were a good size and comfortable. The room was a good size and was clean. The bathroom was also clean. There was a good sized tv with normal channels. There were a couple of USB sockets in the room which came in handy for charging phones etc. There were some good restaurants nearby for evening meals. Reasonably priced stay.

I would have liked a room safe, but it seems most hotels in Hickory dont have these either. Although there are some restaurants nearby, a lot are only accessible if you have a car as the hotel is on the main interstate road.

We were traveling through to a horse show and decided to give this place a try. This place is super nice! The lady at the front desk was super friendly, very accommodating, upbeat, went beyond her call. She made check-in awesome! I wish I had got her name, she is definitely an asset to this hotel. The room was clean, fresh smelling, pretty large in size for a hotel room. The bathroom could have been cleaned a little bit better. I always bring clorox, lysol, and wipes to freshening up anywhere we stay. They have Dove toiletries which was super nice. Beds were comfortable, and clean. It was very quiet and we got a pretty good night sleep, we slept in also. The 12pm checkout was the best!!!!!! I would definitely stay here again!!

Staff was wonderful. Friendly and caring. Room size was great; bed was very comfortable. Great shower head.

Need a small side table next to the one chair so you can place something on it when reading or watching tv. The ac unit sounded like it was broken. Very loud when kicking on and in the actual running mode - interfered with sleeping, so had to raise it to higher level so it wouldn't kick on as often.

The breakfast was AMAZING had lots of options even healthy options I was very impressed. The fact this hotel had soap is actually use and smelled good I was very excited when I seen there was dove soap

Nothing my stay was perfect

the breakfast was great. the location was perfect right near the mall and many other stores/food.

we stayed 3 nights by the second night we had used all our towels and wash clothes and asked the maid for more she said she couldnt give us any cause they were short and those were for new rooms. we called the front desk who said they would have some brought. they didnt! we ended up grabbing them ourselfs off the maids cart

Most likely the best HI Express I’ve ever stayed at. Extremely efficient, clean and the staff, especially Tara, was superb. I’ve travelled the world and for a budget hotel, you cannot beat this place!!

Breakfast was good and easily accessible. I appreciated the coffee being available before breakfast hours began. Room was very clean.

Housekeeping services were not available - I put the trashcan and towels outside the room door for replacement as instructed, but they were returned to me by being left in front of the door. Not thrilled about using a towel that was on the hallway floor (albeit in a plastic bag). They could at least have been placed back inside the room.

Vanessa at the front desk went above and beyond when a couple hours after we had checked out, I realized I'd left my medication in the fridge. Oh, my goodness, was I in a panic! I called and she was nice enough to retrieve the medication and hold it for me at the front desk in their fridge until we returned. Can't tell you how much I appreciated that simple act of caring.

The hotel seems like it could use a good bit of updating, but it was close to where we needed to be so it was ok for a night.

I did not partake in the breakfast much, but I did appreciate the manager opening up the fridge for the yogurt so that I could take my medication. I came down about 20 min late. The location is great. I already knew it was in the middle of Hickory's downtown. It's accessible to many of the highways; you can get to anywhere that you want to go. I also appreciated their taking my request for a room not on the main floor, and overall the hotel was pretty quiet.

The bed was uncomfortable (way too soft) - everybody has their own preference, which I understand, but somewhere in between might be best. My keys did not work after the 3rd day and they were not near anything to demagnetize them.

The staff were very friendly. The breakfast crew did an awesome job keeping everything clean and stocked. Room was comfortable and clean.

Unfortunately, the noise from the highway out front kept me awake (noisy, loud cars) which was not the fault of the hotel. The only negative thing about the hotel was an extremely slow running drain in the bathroom sink.
