Suncadia Resort, a Destination by Hyatt Residence

I loved the fact that there was so much to do and so much nature right there. We saw deer in the morning. The views were spectacular. And it’s all relatively close to Seattle. My only regret is that we plan for a longer stay.

1- The coffee line was super long. There could be another stand. 2- There were no towels at the pool! This was terrible and I missed my last swim because I had to run and borrow towels from the lodge and then run them back over to the lodge (I let my husband and children swim while I tried to figure out the towel situation). But overall we had a great stay. My husband doesn’t like to pay for “resorts” but he admitted that this was pretty amazing.

Food was great! Lots of food choices close by. Pools are excellent. Beds are comfortable. Rooms spacious and amazing views. River access was great as well.

String Lights on the paved walking paths were not turned on after dark, making it a hard to see at night. The bathroom fan in our bathroom wasn't working and the fridge clicked loudly constantly. Also someone charged a $60 breakfast to our room the morning we left when we didn't eat at Portals, glad I was able to see it before checking out and had them remove it. Resort should really have people swipe their key card instead of just giving a room number for charging stuff to their rooms.

Amazing views! Genuinely breathtaking. We enjoyed our coffee outside every morning. We loved the fire pits around the property (s’mores stuff provided, so cute!). The staff was wonderful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the shuttle option to take you to all the different places around the resort. The food and drinks at the restaurants were phenomenal as well as the service. Everything you could want is at the resort! Highly recommend this stay!

The only downside was that several things were closed (the taco truck, lazy river) because it was after Labor Day. We didn’t know that going in so it was a bit disappointing. It also seemed that the staff didn’t know what was open as the front desk recommended the taco truck but when we got there it was shut down for the season. And then the shuttle driver drove us to the lazy river not knowing it was closed.

We loved the location. I loved the wildlife and the scenery. I enjoyed the walking trips but wish I could rent a goldfish cart since golfing was closed. Exploring the trails that were for golf arts would have been amazing. I loved the things you could do there but of course not all available due to Covid. The staff was very friendly. The food at the winery was incredible!

We booked on this cute for the lodge. We were given a room in the In . We were shown a picture of a unit with a full kitchen, we did not have a kitchen. Our room was not clean. I washed all of the glass, and the urine around the toilet and on the floor, there was soap scum clogging the drain in the shower, the shutters were very disty. The common areas tables and floor were very dirty. I wish that they had a garbage/ bags outside to help with the dog droppings. I brought my own bags but had to find a dumpster to dispose, others did not clean up after their pets.

During our stay we went to the coffee bar once for breakfast and the muffins were stale and the breakfast burrito tasted weird. We made our own breakfast from that point on. Also the cafe should be doubled in size! It’s too small! More local bakery breakfast would be a nice touch too!

The hallways were very dirty, the carpet wasn’t vacuumed for days, there were dirty cups by the elevators that no one picked up. The walls were dirty too. The floor in front of the housekeeping was really dirty the entire time were there.

We were there at a very popular holiday, the hotel was full but still did not feel crowded. It had plenty of options of entertainment for the whole family.

The room was not spot clean, specially the kitchen. There were some kitchenware that needed to be washed before use and the floor was dirty, I spilled something on the floor and the paper towel I used to dry it came out filthy.

Atmosphere

Menu and restaurant offerings too limited! We didnt want to go out and drive anywhere. Hours for each meal time way too limited. 10:30AM cutoff for breakfast over weekend with one restaurant shut down for a wedding was a bummer. Tried room service, they lost our order. Menu offering from Portals too exotic to be the only choice for food. Lodge style resort should have at least one laid back lodge style restaurant open at all times for those of us looking to relax and break away from schedules.

The views around the property, location to hiking and small towns made it spectacular. Dinner in Roslyn at the Mexican Grill was excellent, and the Swiftwater winery right close was also great for dinner! Smores makings at the front door upon return was great!

We were there at a very busy time so parking was a challenge each time you returned to the lodge but we always managed to get a spot.

I really liked that the suite had a fully stocked kitchen with a stove a big fridge and dish washer. We also had a washer and dryer. The bed was comfortable and was great for a family of 4 with little kids. We loved the pools very nice and you can take a free shuttle from the hotel.

Maybe the price is a bit high but very clean facilities and room. The restaurant options aren’t that many and way over priced.

Upon arrival we found our shower 🚿 extremely dirty/ unsanitary but thank God4 the wonderful staff that you had on that morning they jumped on it right away we really appreciate Val & the supervisor on shift that day , Moe was not helpful @ all but because of Val & the supervisor we will definitely be back again soon & the waitress Sydney @ the Portal restaurant she need a raise she’s one hard worker & extremely happy person she love her job I wish to see her when we come back she has a kind spirit
