Whether you are a tourist or a native to Philadelphia, there are a few spots that you must see. Philadelphia has a personality that shines through its various venues and parts of town. Here are a few places that are Philadelphia must sees.

1. Penn’s Landing

The waterfront is one of the most beautiful sights in the city. Penn’s Landing is essentially the area from the river through the first two blocks of Philadelphia surrounding Market Street (the center of Philadelphia). The area is full of amazing restaurants, bars, and hotels. If you’re looking to spend a night in Philly, this is the place to be. You’re a short walk or cab ride away from any restaurant or bar you’d want to go to. There are beautiful lights and buildings right on the water that provide city-goers with a fantastic view and ambiance.

2. Rittenhouse Square

Located around 19th and Chestnut Streets, Rittenhouse Square is centered with a beautiful park. For being in the center of an urban area, the park is quite neat and full of trees, grass, benches and a central water fountain. The cafes, restaurants, businesses, and apartments in the area are elegant and appealing. Walk around, grab some lunch, and enjoy an afternoon at the park.

3. Love Park

Philadelphia is the city of brotherly love, so Love Park is a key location in the city. Coming from the Art Museum along Ben Franklin Parkway, you’ll run directly into Love Park. With the iconic LOVE in red block letters, the park also features a large fountain and sets a great ambiance for tourism and pictures. Restaurants are found along the Parkway and can add to your Love Park experience (pictured at top).

4. City Hall

Located at the intersection of Philadelphia’s two main streets, Broad and Market, City Hall is an enormous building with intricate designs and architecture that attract tourists and locals alike. The building is surrounded by elegantly designed stone benches and artistic fountains. The surrounding blocks also have interesting elements: large-scale everyday objects and interesting statues. Sculptures range from 30+ foot sorry and chess game pieces and 50+ foot clothes pin to bronze statues on the same scale of human bodies arranged in strange molds.

5. South Street

If you want to see a sight, go to South Street. Although the street spans the entire city, from around 2nd through 8th streets, South Street becomes a whole different world. The people and shops found in this area are a perfect match for each other. Tattoo shops, restaurants, funky bars, and interesting jewelry and clothing stores line the street. Condom Kingdom is a hit store for tourists as well. The ambiance is funky and lively, so we’d definitely suggest it if you’re up for a treat.
