Updated Aug 2, 2023

There is a list of must-do activities to enrich a first or even repeat tour of Thailand. Without getting a taste of the practices and habits of the Thai people, you will not understand what makes this Asian country unique and enchanting.

Here is the list of the must-do activities for Thailand visitors:

Take a Tuk-Tuk ride. This a native form of transport on Bangkok streets akin to the rickshaw of China.

Shop at Chatuchak Market. There is something about the noise, dirt and crowds in this market that you will never see anywhere.

Get a Thai massage. Thailand is famous for massages of all types and it is really worthwhile experiencing at least one massage when in Thailand.

Eat street food. Food stalls are all over Bangkok streets to provide a wonderful alternative to fine-dining places in the city. The street food are superb and clean too.

Watch Thai boxing. Kick boxing is unique to Thailand. You can watch a fight which is held in a cage to protect the boxers from old cans, water bottles etc. being hurled at them when the fight gets slow.

Dance in a Thai nightclub. Thai nightclubs are different from those in other countries because these are crowded with tables with little or no real dance floor. People claim a table and drink from there and just dance whenever and wherever they feel like it.

Try some insect delicacies. You have a choice of locusts, grubs and beetles which are usually fried to a crisp and flavored the usual Thai way: hot and spicy.

Order a drink at Banyan. This refers to Banyan Tree Hotel in Sathorn Road, one of the most expensive hotels in Bangkok.

Ride a boat on Chao Praya. Chao Praya is the name of the large river that runs through Bangkok. The Chao Praya Express boat is a fairly relaxing way of seeing a part of Bangkok that is not otherwise accessible.

Travelers will enjoy these activities more if they come to Thailand on discounted Thailand tours and stay at cheaper hotels in Bangkok or other parts of Thailand.
