If there is any town you don’t want to be left out in the cold in, the Windy City is atop the list. If you are looking for a cheap motel or a deluxe suite, Chicago has all the options. Chicago’s luxurious hotels include the Peninsula Chicago which would run a couple anywhere between $450-$550, but is stationed in the heart of the City by the Lake’s “Magnificent Mile.”
Thanks to a quirky liquor law, many restaurants in Chicago are BYOB, meaning you can bring in your own beer, wine (and sometimes liquor for mixed drinks) to enjoy with your meal. But there’s no hefty “corkage” fee to do so. Some places charge a nominal fee of $1-3, but not enough to impact the savings you’ll get from bringing your own.

With the perfect balance of culture, clubs, bars, and free fun, Chicago is the perfect city for twentysomethings. But like most major cities, it is easy to get caught up in marquees and stay in tourist infested areas without seeing much of what the city has to offer.
Megan Tarsha just returned from a Chicago trip and recommends the Redheaded Piano Bar and Underground Club for traveling twentysomethings. She is equally enthusiastic about The Lakeshore lobby bar at W. Other travelers recommend Vertigo Lounge and Millenium Park.
