101 Reasons to Get Off Your Ass and Travel
We at Travelated are in favor of you getting off your ass and doing just about anything, but we prefer that you get up and travel. Watching hours and hours of Anthony Bourdain doesn’t count as traveling, no matter how much you want it to. You can read about and watch other people doing what you’ve always wanted to do, or you could, you know, just DO IT.
Best places to ride out the Zombie Apocalypse
You know you’ve thought about it–we all have. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, we all believe that we would be the survivors battling it out against the zombies (when in reality, most of us will become the walking dead. It is what it is, am I right?)
The most beautiful place in America, part 2
Alex and I visited Snow Canyon State Park during our trip to Utah, and it literally took our breath away. Having grown up in the Midwest, we aren’t accustomed to seeing red rocks, mountains, and desert. Our time in Vegas has given us a taste of that kind of landscape, but Utah really blew our minds.
The most beautiful place in America: Part 1
Granted, I haven’t been everywhere in America, but of the places I have been thus far, Utah takes the crown for most beautiful. Looking for a quick getaway to escape our hectic lives in Vegas, Alex and I recently traveled to the small town of Ivins, near St. George.
The best place for a drink on the rocks in Vegas
Las Vegas is a strange place. If I drive ten minutes west, I can be on the heart of the Strip, drink in hand. If I drive ten minutes east, I can be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by gorgeous red rocks and desert. I often head out to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area with my friend Amy…
Never neglect parking garage photography
Alex and I spent a half hour playing around on the roof of the Suncoast Casino parking garage, taking pictures. The roof has a great view of the Strip to the East and the mountains to the West. Of the dozens of photos I took, I only liked two!
The 5 people you can’t help but meet in Vegas
The Strip isn’t all glam and glitter; there are parts of the Vegas experience that are just simply maddening. It’s true of any tourist destination: seedy types flock here to try and turn a buck (or a trick). When walking the Strip during the day or at night, there is no avoiding the types of people listed below.
Our fave off-the-Strip eats that you can’t miss
Food and Vegas are nearly synonymous with one another, but you don’t have to bankrupt yourself on the Strip to get a good meal. Alex and I go to the Strip maybe once a month–when we eat out, we most often eat at one of the off-the-Strip locations listed below. We have been to each of these far more than once, and we highly recommend that you dine there when you’re in town.
If you want to know who you really are, get naked.
I’m over the guilt thing. I’m not sure if this is a problem exclusive to women, but it seems to be prolific among us. Any time I do anything that is for myself and that is not for work, a friend, a family member, a charity, etc., somehow I can’t get rid of the nagging feeling that what I am doing is wrong.
