Slipway Hotel Motel

The location was superb with walking distance to all the amenities and attractions (for myself) in Ballina, NSW. I didn't get to try the on-site restaurant but having 2 Indian restaurants in the vicinity made me spoilt for choice of food of my favourite cuisine. There is a bottle shop (great prices) across the road (River Street) and Woolworths nearby too. I walked to the Maritime Museum in the afternoon and it was convenient having to just take a short stroll from the room and back to this spectacular showcase of maritime and shipping history of Northern NSW!

The flooring in the room was wooden boards (cold for me) and I feel a carpeted interior would be more suitable, especially in colder months. Also, the positioning of the kitchen sink was poor (low height and too forward), so this was uncomfortable to use.

The location was perfect, many cafes and restraints close, close to the river and parklands. Centre of CBD

Nice room size, quiet, plenty of hot water

- Room was spacious - Decent sized shower - Easy to access - Plenty of parking (despite other reviews stating there wasn't - there is a little yard off to the side that you can park in if all front parks are taken, not as convenient, but still easily accessible) - Hotel staff were friendly on check-in and during our drinks and dinner (although they did close at 10pm on a Saturday)

- Pillows weren't very good, but I had read this in reviews, so we packed our own - No ventilation to the room apart from the sliding door that is the only entry/exit point - Limited out the front parking (but as I said above, there is a little yard you can park in if all front parks are taken) - Some mould on the bathroom ceiling that needs addressing, most likely due to lack of ventilation - Only one small blanket on the bed and another in the cupboard. A doona would be a nicer addition for comfort.

Clean and central. Surprisingly quiet. The room was cleaned and refurbished daily. Great location.

Very little cutlery( 2 tea spoons) People off the St Taking parking spots. Maybe need a working system that protects parking. Also need to improve communication with Booking.com. Advertised as pay on check-out( 13/1/23) but I was chased up by management to pay on booking creating un needed financial stress before Xmas.

Location ideal. We were working salvaging our possessions in storage that had been saturated during the recent flooding event, and essential shopping, choice of take-aways etc, was conveniently only a short walk away. Really nice to come back to fresh towels etc for a much needed hot shower even though we had forgotten to request them. Staff were also very helpful when I rang to ask for some info when booking our room.

Ground floor rooms a bit noisy when using the screen door for fresh air, as car parking is right outside. Didn't know breakfast was available!!!

Dated but clean large room. Ideal for overnight break in long journey. Hotel restaurant good. Mix up with us overpaying for room was resolved within minutes of one phone call. Impressed with this service. Would stay there again.

Shortage of parking space when we arrived. Difficulty booking online.

ideal location next to shops and river front

due to no parking lines it’s difficult to park at the front. I had to park my car in public car park. Parking lines would let people park properly

It was very good lots of room to move around

Need to fix leaking taps in shower. Have to close door to get a good night sleep (Unit 5) Other than that all good

Location is great, meals at restaurant were good value and very nice, close to shops.

Rooms could have had bowls for cereal and a bit more cutlery and better pillows.

Location & room was very clean & comfortable

Parking was terrible. Parking lots were taken up with locals. We had to park in the car park across the road & cart our luggage across the road.
