Country Roads Motor Inn

Despite being on the highway and beside the McDonald's drive through, the room was super quiet. The BEST shower I've had in an accommodation facility in a long time, just like home. The motel boasts a restaurant and complimentary kitchen/laundry facilities for guests. House keeping staff were friendly and helpful. The owners/managers have the grounds looking lovely. My favourite touch, the friendly motel cats!

While kitchen and laundry facilities were available for complimentary use, they were not particularly inviting. A good clean in this space would be beneficial. A 'housekeeping not needed' sign would have been useful for those of us doing a long stay.

Unit was larger than the usual motel unit, and it made for a much more comfortable stay. There was room for a decent lounge, a table, and 4 chairs. Bathroom was small, but functional.

Restaurant was disappointing. Macca's drive through only a few metres away made for interrupted sleep. Overnight roadworks immediately outside the truck stop next door could have been a problem, but wasn't.

We were travelling from FNQ to Central Coast NSW and had traveled many kms that day. To be able to just unwind after such a huge drive and relax was wonderful. The room smelt great, clean and inviting. The gentleman at reception was most helpful with getting us crockery for our take-away dinner, which was much appreciated as I couldn't face getting dressed to go to dinner in the restaurant although eh menu looked very appetizing.

There was a mattress in the doorway of what I presumed was an adjoining room. The air con was on when we arrived - a godsend and we turned it off before bedtime as it was quite cool. Thank you.

The bed was so soft and squeaky and felt like it was from the 70’s but don’t let that fool you ... it was the best night sleep we have had in a long time. Staff weren’t on site when we checked in but after calling the after hours number they were able to check us in and had the keys in our room and room was ready to go. Fully stocked mini bar and room service option with on site restaurant. Right next to servo which was convenient for a quick morning full up before heading across the border.

We were surprised at the extras which were provided at this motel. Shaving cream and body lotion in a dispenser, something that usually isn't provided. The owner was very friendly and chatty and we dined in their restaurant which we felt was good value for money. I would recommend it to any traveller wanting to stay in Goondiwindi.

My only complaint was it was on the highway and there were transport trucks going by at all hours of the night but we were far enough away from the highway to not notice it too much. It is a little out of town for those who don't have their own car.

I had not stayed here previously but I found the room to be ideal in size and exceedingly clean. The team of Michaela and Jeff are simply one of the best that I have come across in the motel world. They were exceedingly helpful and very welcoming. The property is just off the highway and I thought noise might be a problem but it was not an issue. I have stayed in many motels in Goondiwindi over the years and Country Roads Motor Inn is value for money, comfortable and welcoming. This is not something that I would say about some other properties. I would not hesitate to stay here again and I am sure my review would be similar. I recommend this property to all that are looking for a good experience in Goondiwindi.

Comfort, quiet, location.

The cat asleep on the dining room table laying on the napkin,knife and fork. Came in as we were eating dinner and jumped up on the table. Owner eventually came and removed the cat BUT NOT THE NAPKIN, KNIFE AND FORK.

A great location if looking for a bit of quiet. Staff are very friendly and on-site restaurant is fantastic. Rooms are well equipped with plenty of space. Have stayed here many times, always love coming back!.

I requested a continental breakfast tray the evening before and this was delivered in the evening without any problems. I had dinner at the motel restaurant which was well cooked although as it was the Goondiwindi show holiday there was some doubt that the restaurant would open but a decision was made in the evening to open it - as it should be because the motel was booked out and most travellers would not be aware of the show holiday and would expect a meal at the motel restaurant. The rooms have under-cover car parking and were well-presented. The bed was comfortable and the plumbing worked well.

When I arrived at the motel at around 4.00 pm I found the reception door was locked and there was a sign on the door asking guests to call the motel phone number. I thought that was odd. However, in a very short time a staff member appeared and opened the door and arranged my booking, Another person was also waiting to get in to the reception. I was told that the motel was closed "for a few hours" for the show holiday. At $153.00 a night (usual rate is around $135 but show bookings increased demand) I would expect someone to be on duty despite a local show holiday. I also noted a cat wandering around the dining area during my evening meal - not sure that is in accordance with health regulations.

On entry the room smelled absolutely beautiful. Fresh and clean. The refrigerator was sparkling clean and everything inside it was lined up neat and tidy. The room itself was very large, and the beds were so comfortable. Whoever made the bed did a fantastic job very professional. Very large bathroom and exceptionally clean. The room was very quiet. I could not hear any traffic noise at all. On checking out when the conversation turned to disappointment in the meal that we had delivered from a local Thai restaurant, The manager offered to allow the drinks taken from the refrigerator to be on the house as compensation even though the disappointing food had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel. My friend and I were totally blown away by the beautiful room and facilities. I would recommend it to anybody
