Beautiful cottage overlooking small lake. Spacious inside with lovely decor and outside covered area with bbq. Owner welcomed us and explained the different features and provided recommendations for dog friendly wineries to visit. Breakfast included was substantial for our 3 day stay and even included cheeses, crackers and homemade rocky road and jams. Huge grounds to take our fur baby for a walk up the back. About 10 minute drive into Stanthorpe and nearby wineries. Other wineries about 20-30 mins drive away. Wonderful place to relax and watch the sunset with a glass of local wine.

Brekkie was great, the bacon was particularly delicious and the portion sizes were spot on. The coffee pods and milk frother add a nice boutique touch and were addictive! Supplies for the fire were abundant and easy to use, daily top up meant nice long sessions with the fire heating the cabin at night. Chris and Lynne (and Ripley) were lovely, very friendly and personable with great tips on what to see and enjoy in the region. Quiet atmosphere, peaceful and not too busy on site due to the limited amount of accomodation. Loved it!

My silly GPS took me up a dirt track at the rear of the property called Possum Lane - perhaps a sign on the rear fence to direct unfortunate travellers back around to Nicholson Rd would be helpful in future.

Despite some unsettled weather, our 4 night stay could not have been better. First up, our hosts Chris & Lynne were very friendly and helpful and meeting them on check-in set a warm relationship for the whole stay. But equally they were not intrusive in any way during our stay. The cottages are delightful overlooking a natural setting with a lake. In the mornings we were gently awakened by the song of kookaburras and the chortling of magpies. Inside the accommodation is fitted out well with everything one needs for a short stay including a welcoming fireplace to add ambience. The breakfast provided (DIY) both hot and cold was more than adequate. There is a good collection of kitchen appliances plus a gas stove top and microwave (no oven). Lynne's 'rocky road' was a very special treat. This was the perfect place to switch off the world, relax and reflect.

Our Optus mobile service only occassionally connected in and near the cottages. You will have to decide if that's a good or not so bad thing :) Otherwise, nothing else to report.

the property is beautiful. our cottage had a lovely view of the water. it was so peaceful. Chris & Lynne are the perfect hosts. we had a lovely hamper on arrival. fresh eggs bacon plus some lovely extras.. all the small details were thought of, essential oils for diffuser, fluffy robes and Lynne’s yummy rocky road. Thank you both, we had the best weekend. we will be back in the winter months to enjoy the stove. Sandra & Jason

nothing to dislike… it’s stunning. some wifi would be a bonus but we got on fine without it for our short stay.

Chris and Lynne were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much to make our stay as enjoyable as can be. The cottage was absolutely lovely. It felt so homely and had everything you could need. The breakfast provided was amazing. This was such a wonderful place to come out to relax. It was also in the middle of everywhere we wanted to go so location was great. I would highly recommend if you want to stay somewhere homely and cosy.

There was nothing we didn’t like!

Breakfast was included and we expected a Continental Breakfast. However, there was an abundance of selection for breakfast: fruit, yoghurt, granola, milk, apple juice (locally grown), bread + 3 condiments, bacon and eggs (locally grown) and tomato, and a choice of tea and pod coffees. Also included was a cheese platter with homemade Rocky Road set up in the fridge. The attention to detail in the cottage was exceptional eg the Bath salts for the spa, makeup removers, wood for the fireplace (topped up daily). The hosts were the nicest people (and also their puppy was very welcoming) - recommending wineries to visit, ringing a winery on our behalf to obtain a bottle of wine instead of driving back in to town. The location of the cottages was very peaceful with an abundance of bird life.

The cottage was very well designed. It had lots of facilities, log fire, warm air con, electric blankets, very well stocked kitchen, spa bath, tv that was on a turntable, so you could watch TV/Dvd's in different areas of the cottage. Owners were very friendly and I was even left a gift for my birthday. You can see how much the owners care about their guests. Great retreat for a quiet getaway and to recharge.

Even though the bed was comfortable, with an excellent electric blanket, it was very noisy with squeaking springs. So every time you turned over in your sleep it made a noise and woke you up. There is only one taxi company in Stanthorpe. To travel 7 mins to a wine tour (which we could have stayed at their accommodation) it cost $33 each way. So when we had to travel 11 mins to get to enjoy a birthday evening we decided to drive as the taxi would have cost approx $40 each way. Internet signal is touch and go.

The breakfast was very substantial & loved the local produce provided. Lynne's rocky road was a real hit too:) Chris & Lynne made us feel so welcome as did their adorable fur baby Ripley. We've spent many weekends in Stanthorpe over the years but can confidently say that we'll definitely stay here again on our next return trip. The little things always leave a big impression so thankyou Chris & Lynne for your lovely hospitality, welcome letter & bottle of wine for our anniversary.

The surroundings are so peaceful, the only sounds are the birds. The Retreat was amazing, it is set out and decorated so tastefully, everything was comfortable. The food hamper provided for breakfast was brilliant and was more than enough for two people for the three days we were there. The cheese board was delicious but the icing on the cake was the homemade rocky road.
