Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway

Stayed in a spa room. Room was amazing and the bed was super comfortable. Great size too. If you are expecting a nice sized spa to fit two people you will be disappointed though. It really only fits one short person so as a couple we didn’t get any use out of it and I’d specifically booked a spa room to use for our anniversary. Pool was beautiful and outdoor seating was fantastic. Perfect undercover parking area for guests and a nice touch on our last day to clean the windscreen on our car for a safe journey home. Restaurant food was delicious. We had dinner there on our first night and cannot complain on the meal size and quality of food. Only down side was we didn’t book thinking it was a guest only restaurant and figured it wouldn’t be busy as the hotel itself was quite empty. Front of house staff made us feel like it was a hassle to find us a table as this restaurant accepts general public too. So I recommend booking if you plan to eat there.

We had a street facing room and I must say the road traffic noise was difficult to ignore. Being on the main road it was very noisy so if you are wanting to relax for a few hours in your room or have kids that need quiet spaces to sleep during the day the day, request a room off the main road. Shower was over the “spa bath” so the screen didn’t stop the huge amounts of water that came out of it. Had to use spare towels to mop the floor up so we didn’t slip and break our necks.

The room we were given was neat and clean. Everything was there and didn't need anything else. The beds were nice and comfy. My husband who is 6.1ft couldn't really fit in them comfortably but that seems to be the problem with every hotel we stay in.

The only thing I didn't like hasn't gotten anything to do with the room, but rather the very loud neighbours we had next to us. They checked in after 11pm and were making a lot of noises and talking and laughing very loudly. They had children that were knocking on walls, banging doors shut and screaming. I contacted the hotel and they dealt with the situation very swiftly - so again, nothing as an issue with the room itself, just the noise neighbours.

Modern and loved the electric blankets were a hit

When we arrived room wasn’t ready after I called ahead slightly frustrating with small children after long travel but the attendant was wonderful, apologetic and didn’t want us to change rooms to upstairs with small children which was very appreciated. She got us a trolley which was awesome to help unload. I get there was a late check out just better communication from cleaners to reception would have solved this prior to us getting to room itself being told at reception or the call would have been better. I’m an understanding person others might not be.

Great place to stay, we were on the road travelling so needed to find somewhere. This place was nice and comfortable. The pool and facilities looked good, sadly they closed by 9pm (at the time) so were unable to use them. Room was very comfortable and suitable for what we needed.

It would have been nice if the pool etc was open later. I do understand there may be regulations / staffing reasons this could not be so wouldn't put me off staying again. It would have just enhanced the experience for us.

We booked a room with a Spa bath - excellent Nice clean room with a comfy bed, including a desk and couch TV with lots of channels, including all foxtel The swimming pool with hot tub, and the sauna was great We were surprised by the little extra touches they provided, such as we received a note on our car windscreen saying that they cleaned it for us (every day)!

These are very minor gripes Our room was next to the main road and was a bit noisy at times - Double glazing the sliding glass door is suggested Only provided a small pack of tissues - I believe a box should be provided

The room was warm and comfortable with quality bedding, facilities and furnishings. The dinner and breakfast from the dining room was superb, both beautifully cooked and presented. Our car windscreen was given a complimentary wash, which was very thoughtful.

The outdoor courtyard/bbq area just out side the motel rooms is inconsiderately located as it was still noisily in use by some corporate function patrons at 11.30pm whilst everyone else was trying to sleep. The brick walkway echoes every pair of high heels that walks past your motel room door.

Nice clean room, have a nice bar and restaurant. Easy access from the freeway. That was our stop from Melbourn to Sydney. The only one of the chain hotels that we found in the area. Meaning this is the best one compared with others.

Our room 201. right next to the swimming pool and outdoor dining area. There is no partition between our room and the dining area. We went out for dinner, and people were right there outside our room having dinner and seeing straight through our room, not very private and secure. Having some plant pots or a fence between the room corridor and the main public area is a good idea.

We ate at the hotel restaurant, Atrium and the meals were outstanding. I had the duck breast, my wife had the eye fillet, we share a delicious chocolate brownie desert and our children enjoyed their meals too. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay very welcoming. Even when we went to drove out of their carpark, we found a note on the windscreen explaining they had cleaned it for us and wished us safe travels. Would stay again!

The service was fantastic and the room was fresh and modern. Beautifully clean with all amenities present. Pool looked inviting with day beds and lounges surrounding it. I found a note from the Hotel staff on the car windscreen saying the windscreen had been cleaned. That was a really nice surprise!

It was noisy in the morning from street noise. Would be great to see a couple of car chargers for non Tesla cars in the car park.

Have stayed here several times over many years and the high standards have been maintained. Rooms have been modernised over time and all (at least the several I've stayed in) are quite comfortable. Restaurant is a stand-out with excellent service, high quality ingredients in an interesting menu, and an interesting wine list. A nice touch is the car windscreen clean done overnight!
