The location was superb. The hotel itself was very much like any other business hotel with the expected facilities. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of healthy options We had a map posted to the hotel a few days before and on arrival the receptionist was very keen to make sure we got it. Thank you

The only real issue was that we were unable to change a 10 euro note for some change to pay for a car park ticket. We were told to go to a shop as they didn't provide change in the hotel. This really seemed so petty and tourists don't normally travel with loose change and the ticket machine doesn't accept cards After a very long tiring journey the last thing you need is to be searching for a shop to get 2 euros to park your car! Please try to remedy this and next time you'll get full marks

Our 12yr old Grandson was in a wheelchair and the hotel very kindly contacted me twice via booking.com to establish exactly which type of room would be best for us. Not knowing the hotel, it was difficult to be specific so there was an element of miscommunication (I had asked to be near a lift). As a result, when we arrived, we were put in the original Family Room I had booked and we realised that all these room types were a considerable distance from the lift. We asked for a stool for the shower, which was very promptly delivered. We then asked if there was a chance of having a room nearer to the lift. This was organised for us within minutes by 2 extremely helpful and friendly ladies at reception and the room was perfect for our special needs. I could not praise these two ladies highly enough. Throughout our 2-day visit each member of staff at reception made us feel so welcome and showed genuine interest in us enjoying a lovely visit. The hotel location is absolutely perfect for a visit to Ypres, being only a short distance from the main square. It is also next to what must be the cheapest car park in Ypres at Euro 2 per day - although waiting for a space can need patience! We had questioned whether we wanted to pay Euro 25 each for breakfast but, having experienced the prices in the restaurants in the market square for even basic dishes, we decided it was probably the best option and are so glad we did. Each morning there was a more-than-adequate - and very good - buffet offering many choices. Being a child, our grandson was free so that was a real bonus. The staff came round 15 minutes before the buffet closed to make sure you had time to get anything else you wanted and emphasised that you were welcome to then continue to eat at your leisure.

In view of all I have written above, we were obviously extremely pleased with our stay. The price was very reasonable for a tourist area at this time of year and it more than met our needs. If I wanted to find anything that could have been better, it would only be that we did report that the safe and the shower gel dispenser weren't working but it was a bank holiday and those two things were sooo minor! We were only there for two days and the room was not serviced but, again, a very minor issue - we only had to spread up our beds and the lovely staff at reception gladly gave us the coffee/tea/milk supplies we needed. I often despair at reviews where people only want to pay for 3* and yet expect 5* service. This hotel is just right for a tourist visit.

We'd booked as a stopover for 2 adults and 2 kids, expecting a double bed and a fold-out sofas, as we've had other Novotels in the UK. We were surprised at having a room with a double bed PLUS a separate room with two singles and wardrobes. Not only this, there was a kitchenette in the main room plus the separate shower and toilet. This was a massive bonus not only for the kids to have their own bed after a long day of travelling, but it gave us extra space for luggage and my bike. Beds were good, all facilities were excellent. Location was spot-on - a minute from the main square and close to all the eateries, pubs and the Menin Gate. Very quiet as well; we overlooked a roof area so no view to speak of, but we had an undisturbed night and the air con was perfect too (it was 32˚C outside) We parked at the nearby Parking Leper Centrum (D'Hondtstraat) only because it didn't have a height restriction; it cost us €20 for the night. There is an underground car park right next to the hotel that we believe is about the same cost but does have a height restriction. Staff at the hotel were super helpful - they have a secure room for bike storage that they offered to me without even having to ask - this is Belgium after all, and not the UK where bicycles aren't default mode of transport - but I opted to have it in our room. There is a bar in the hotel and you can get cans of pop and beer from reception out of hours. We didn't opt for the breakfast option so can't vouch for quality. Would we stay again? Absolutely. For stopovers it's great and even as a base for a long weekend exploring the area, I'd look at this just because the quality of the room was so good for €120.

Nothing.

The family room was exceptionally good - the small additional room for the children was exactly what we needed. The location is great as well and on-street parking nearby was easy to find. The food in the restaurant was great, helped by a small playing area where our children could play while we waited for the food to arrive. Overall, this hotel is exceptional for family travel.

The one tiny thing that might have made our visit even better is if the restaurants accepts diners after 21.00 - we ended up arriving on time to have dinner, but it was close!

Great hotel room was spacious and bright and well furnished, large screen TV and plenty of storage and the bed was extremely comfortable. There are refurbishing works taking place on the ground floor but didn't have any effect on the stay, staff were very friendly, parking is available at the hotel but a cheaper alternative can be found very close by with a 2 euro charge between 9 am and 6pm after that it's free, just remember to renew the 2 euro charge if staying another day etc. Location is very good being just a few minutes walk from Main Square.

We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four (Children aged 4 and 7). We were really positively surprised how spacious our room was. The children‘s room was separated by an internal door. They had two single beds, bedside table and lights. The room looks like it was recently renovated and decorated nicely. Coffee, tea and water for free in the room. The bathroom was spacious with a separate loo and a big shower. The breakfast was good. There was e.g. an automatic coffee machine, fresh croissants, seeded rolls, soy milk and fruit. It is a very child-friendly hotel with a kids play corner. We will highly recommend and happily visit again next year.

Everything was perfect

Nice and quiet location

Parking in Ieper is easy to do, but the problem is you need to document yourself really good before that. The hotel itself does not have a parking - they usually recommend a third party parking very close. If you don't want that, you can pay on the streets nearby, but specific rules apply depending on zone. A map that shows all parking zones is available at https://www.toerismeieper.be/parking_2019-2

We loved the location of this hotel. It was very close to the Menin Gate, In Flanders Field Museum and a variety of restaurants. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. I also appreciated receiving advance notice that the lobby was under construction. We did not notice any dust or noise from their renovations (it looks like it's going to be very nice when completed).

Breakfast is 25 Euros per person so we went elsewhere.

Have stayed at the Hotel on several occasions, nice rooms, good sized bed, building renovations were in progress but did not disturb us at all,

Although we did not eat at the hotel the cost of breakfast was eye watering for what one would get, the design of the room was quite odd with the bathroom basin situated in the room, this may well have been due to the room was designed for a disabled person in mind.

We have stayed at this location previously and it appears to have a refurbishment. It was a clean hotel, with friendly and welcoming staff. Check in/ out was quick and efficient. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice. Well positioned for local amenities and town centre. They do have a private car park, but we did not use this.

Paper cups in the bedrooms. If they use pot ones in the restaurant, why not in the bedrooms. Coffee pods not replaced daily. We had to ask every day.
