Excellent location, very comfy bed and Susan was interesting to talk to.

Whilst this is a good b&b, I feel if Susan takes note of and acts upon some of the issues raised in previous reviews it could easily be a great b&b with very little extra effort: 1. Be a bit more flexible with breakfast times - 8 30 on the dot may not suit everyone 2. Check dietary requirements - I was very surprised not to be asked this 3. Make the beds ! - it takes 5 minutes and honestly makes a huge difference 4. Change/fold towels - again I was surprised this wasn't done in the six days I was there 5. The breakfasts were nice and tasty but lacked variety.

It was our first time in Banff and we were glad that we stayed here. The location is perfect, central and quiet at the same time. The room was big and comfy. Susan is really a great person, we enjoyed starting the day with our conversation with her and her breakfast, both were lovely. Listening Banff from a local like her and hearing her life stories in this house and Banff is something I always want to remember. And the trees in the front garden, so pleasing to gaze at any time of the day, along with cute birds and little elks wondering around.

The only thing we were uncomfortable was that the shower was really loud, even loud enough to wake you up.

what a gem to have a beautiful b and b well located, well appointed and a very friendly and generous host. we stayed for three nights and each breakfast was different and very well presented. having access to a microwave and fridge and an outdoor patio area made our stay even more enjoyable . the host is a longtime resident of Banff and we had many long conversations with her especially over leisurely breakfasts.

we arrived on the weekend and the traffic was fairly heavy but we had no problem finding parking in the street

Breakfasts were delicious and it was nice to have variety. Particularly enjoyed our breakfast chats with our host, Susan :) The location could not be better - easy to find, within easy walking distance of town and river and still quiet at night (once you get used to the trains ... and that only took the first night). Just loved our stay in Banff!

The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped . There was a pleasant shady outdoor seating area for each room. The breakfasts were excellent and different each day. We enjoyed chatting to the host and the other guests over breakfast. All guests had access to a kitchen/living area. The location couldn't have been better.

The shower was noisy.

Location was fantastic . Rooms were large with King sized bed with lots of room for all the gear. It was quiet, comfortable, clean and cozy. Washroom was large and modern. Susan was a friendly host. Overall it felt like home away from home. It really made for a great vacation! We’ll be returning again next time for sure. We’d highly recommend this B&B.

No issues.

Susan was extremely welcoming! We loved the location, the facilities were clean with everything we needed and the breakfast/coffee was delicious. We had to leave early on our last morning (well before breakfast time) and she still left out some muffins/fruit for us which was so kind. We could not recommend this place more highly.

The room was comfortable and the breakfasts were very good but the location was excellent. You can forget your car and walk around the town and nearby trails.

We are from BC and we arrived in Alberta just as a state of emergency was declared and more restrictions were going to be imposed due to hospitalizations rising rapidly from CoVid. Susan our host thought it was ok to sit us at a small table to eat breakfast with other guests which we were obviously uncomfortable with and had to request a separate seating time. It was an awkward situation but she did comply. We have been double vaxxed but we were not asked if we were.

Beautiful and cozy home very close downtown Banff with free parking access. We picked this place as it was much more unique and personalized than most of the other accommodations in the area. I found our room very very very comfortable, especially the bed, great choice of bedding. It was spotless clean. There is a hot tub available and a nice kitchen for the guests. Our host Susan made an amazing breakfast for us; pancakes and fresh fruits with whipped cream. It was awesome to have the Bed and Breakfast friendly and family atmosphere especially in a town as touristy as Banff. I'll certainly stay at Poplar Inn again on my next visit if available as very successful and for good reasons. Thank you Susan and her son for welcoming us.

Susan is a friendly and accommodating host. The house itself is very nice, the rented rooms (2) are private with their own entrance separate from the main house. Perfect location, just around the corner from Downtown Banff. Hot tub, varied breakfast menu, and in 5 days we never noticed the train noise other reviews have complained about.

Nothing substantial…the temperature at night seemed to vary but no real problem.
