Abigail's has a great reputation with almost legendary status for their breakfast's. It was why we chose to stay, for the first time, at this thirty room boutique hotel. I expected to be happy with our choice, I expected the breakfasts to be very good, the rooms to be comfortable and clean, the staff to be friendly and efficient. What I did not expect was virtual perfection in every aspect of Abigail's. It is simply an outstanding on every aspect you may wish to judge. A very solid five out of five.

Just a bit of caution about the parking lot, it is quite small with tight spaces. There are no elevators so you need to be mobile enough to handle stairs.

This experience just kept getting better and better. As a man, I was initially put off by all of the "quaintness" of the room and property appointments and the three flights of stairs I had to climb to access the room, load and unload. But gradually, I came to appreciate the interior and exterior design, the fact that all of it was functional, understandable, and well-cared for and operational. My wife loved the interior design. It just was well done. Excellence everywhere we looked. Staff was great and stayed on top of the quest to provide an excellent guest experience. It was clear to me that they cared. I'm not a B&B kinda guy. Mostly stay in hotels for business. My wife researched this property and made the reservation. But I have to say that everything that I saw exuded quality, care, experience, and excellence, both for the property and especially for the staff. Well done!

I don't recall anything that was wrong, broken, or bad about this place or the experience. It was actually an amazing stay that made us both want to return.

Oh my goodness! Where do I start!! The bed, the pillows, the linens and the duvet were all to die for, probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The room was beautiful, the fireplace with the two comfy chairs in front of it was such a nice touch and one of the reasons why we booked here. The breakfast was amazing, eggs, bacon, avocados, cherry tomatoes, lovely fruit salad, muffin and scones, hot coffee and tea - we paid the extra to have it in our room - COVID times… Chris and Hilary were very helpful at the front desk. Chris answered messaged almost immediately and Hilary was lovely when we checked in and out. Awesome location - you can walk everywhere. Off street parking is a plus!! We will be back - thanks for everything!!

The staff, meals, our lovely room, other hotel facilities, and location were all wonderful and much enjoyed. There were a number of little 'extras' that we also liked and appreciated, and that demonstrated Abilgail's interest in its customers. We would happily return to this hotel.

Although coffee and tea are available 24/7, it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in our room. Although we were made aware of the exterior renos going on, it would have been preferable to not have equipment on site. This did not detract from our stay, however, and neither of these posed a problem.

We booked a King room with a Spa bathroom in the Bessborough building for our 34th anniversary. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The seating area was comfortable and the fireplace was charming. The lighting was beautiful - chandeliers in the rooms, lobby and hallways. The breakfast room was excellent - comfortable chairs, no rush, and the food was excellent, with a different breakfast menu daily. The neighborhood was walkable and charming with the old Victorian houses, the occasional deer, and the awesome Christ Church Cathedral. It was a pleasure to wake up at Abigail's Hotel each morning.

My husband thought more soundproofing would be nice - he could hear footsteps of the vacationers above us in the morning. However, the other adult vacationers were considerate and abided by the quiet times posted.

The breakfasts each morning were excellent to the point where I was looking forward to see what was created each day. The staff were especially pleasant and friendly, looking out for our every need. The hotel was only about two or three blocks from the harbour, which was very convenient. Having rented a car it was great that the hotel had a courtyard in the back which was a paved parking lot.

We were advised that some reconstruction was taking place. The workers were very courteous and tried hard to not be disruptive to the hotel guests. This negative was actually a positive as we were looking forward to seeing it completed.

This is gem of a hotel. From the moment we arrived until several days after we left, the experience could not have been much better. A lovely friendly place with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The breakfasts were wonderful - it would be easy to overeat! The bed linen was some of the softest we've come across. Special mention needs to be made for helping to send on some clothes that had been left behind by accident. The location is great too - within easy walking distance of the Harbourside area.

The mattress in the bed was a bit soft for our tastes - but that may be a personal thing. Other than that, there's nothing that we could say we didn't;t like.

Abigail’s was a wonderful, luxurious respite from the hurry hurry of everyday. Service was friendly, helpful and authentic. The breakfast was outstanding as I don’t usually eat breakfast but the several yummy courses were too hard to resist. We stayed in the new part which was well appointed but maybe didn’t have the unique character of the older rooms but that said was wonderful all the same. Amazing very large bed, super soft pillows and black out curtains allowed us to sleep in. Overall, a wonderful experience and we would definitely return!

Blinds got stuck. A little noisy AC. Shower needs railing and drain feels unsafe. But these are nitpicks!

A wonderful few days at this charming, hotel. The whole place reflects the true character of this delightful Victorian city. The room was so tastefully decorated and was such a cozy and comfortable refuge to return to after a busy day of exploring and sightseeing. What more could you hope for beyond returning and relaxing in the comfort of two chairs in front of the glowing fireplace. Then probably the most comfortable bed we have experienced with it’s silky soft sheets awaited. All the wonderfully friendly, helpful and kind staff together with the absolutely delicious breakfasts with an excellent variety of choices made our stay so enjoyable. The location was quiet, and within a short walk to Victoria's harbour front. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Victoria. Thank you all at Abigail’s.

Absolutely nothing.

Excellent location and fantastic breakfast. Rooms are very nicely appointed, quiet, and spacious. Walking distance to downtown Victoria which was very convenient for taking a whale watching excursion and getting dinner. Also very convenient to the Black Ball ferry since we took the ferry from Port Angeles and also took the ferry back to Port Angeles. We stayed here on our return trip too.

Pillows were too hard in the main building and made it uncomfortable to sleep. We stayed in the new building on our return trip and the pillows were better.
