Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ottawa East-Orleans, an IHG Hotel

The property had all the facilities we want in a hotel. Staff were courteous and the place was generally clean.

The facility was generally clean, the pool was dirty later in the evening. While I understand guests created the mess and it was late in the evening, the facility management team should ensure a staff is available to clean till the pool closes. Front desk staff was not rude bit neither was she show any genuine interest in solving or attending to the dirty pool when it was reported.

Bed was very comfy. I like that there were both firm and soft pillows on each bed. The mini fridge also had a separate freezer section which was amazing. Rooms were very clean and although we didn’t need it the room also had a couch with a pull out bed which is nice to just have in the room. Pool is smaller than expected but decent. However when we were done there were no more towels available (it had been busy though) so having someone replenish more often would be nice. The complementary breakfast has good as well. Hot and cold foods available.

Smallish pool so when it’s busy it’s crowded and a little loud. No towels at pool because they were not replenished after a busy period. My room was right next to the elevator so there was a dull humming from the elevator. The fridge also had a higher pitched hum. I can sleep with the tv on so that solved the issue for me but someone else that could be a little annoying.

Our room was, clean and well equipped to modern standards. It met all our requirements except that the air-conditioned plant above our 5th floor was too noisy. The breakfast was superb with a combination of cooked dishes as well as continental style options. The public transport was only a 5 to 10 minutes away from the hotel and both bus and metro services worked really well for us.

Just the noisy air-conditioned plant. However we should have requested a quiet room at the time of the reservation.

The breakfast was well organized. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We were expecting a continental breakfast but each day the had hot scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns. The pancake maker was a hit! The room was very clean and it was comforting to see the sticker across the door and jamb saying that the room had been sanitized.

The breakfast was good. The service was good. One staff member working in the kitchen could use a change of attitude 😂. (Well, there's always that one person who woke up the wrong way). The rest of the staff were pleasant and very helpful. I know we live in times of the pandemic and things don't run the way they would normally, so with that in mind, I would book the same hotel anytime I am on Ottawa. Very beautiful and we'll maintained facility. The staff also send a text message to check if everything is ok if. That was really nice. I would recommend this facility to anyone who asks.

Actually I would not change a thing.

The service was excellent at the front desk ... it didn't take long to check in and we found our room quickly. We had just completed a 5-hour drive so it was very comforting to find that the room was well appointed and clean. The cleaning staff were polite and always offered a greeting.

There is only one concern ... the floor of the bathtub was slippery and caused both my wife and I concerns ... I was sincerely afraid that I could fall down so I was sure to step outside the shower before I toweled off ... I suggest that you should place safety footing strips on the floor of the tub or advise your incoming guests to bring shower shoes to ensure safety.

Very happy with our stay! Nice big room, mini fridge and microwave in room. 24 hour coffee station in lobby. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Over all very clean atmosphere.

It would be nice if they changed breakfast a bit every couple days. Bacon would of been a nice change from sausage. Pool was small and over crowded so we didn’t get to use it.

Everything. Staff was very friendly. Clean and very comfortable rooms with all the facilities. Nice little pool. They provide a lovely continental breakfast which is really nice. Exceed our expectations and fully worth for what we paid. Hoping to go back and stay couple of days next year as our stay was just one day.

Nothing to complain about.

I was unhappy with the price Booking.com used. They first used canadian dollars then changed to American dollars even though i was stating in Canada. I'll consider another company in the future who is less deceiving. The breakfast was overcooked: cheese omlet, sausages and cinnamon rolls were all hard.

Very clean hotel, great breakfast selection, ideal location with shops,bars and restaurants within walking distance and plenty of parking.

No issues. My only suggestion for any hotel is to provide a bottle or two of water in the room.
