Manoir des Sables Hôtel & Golf

This is our 2nd time staying here. LOVE IT! Quiet, peaceful. We don't play golf, but we don't care! The quiet peacefulness of the area and cleanliness, in Orford is wonderful!!! We usually stay up the road in the next town over (for over 20 years) no more! We were able to extend this stay to make this reservation by another two days. Were hoping to get back up next weekend Labor Day weekend, it's my birthday! We are so fortunate the drive from Boston is very close and we are planning on our next trek to go to Old Quebec. We got well rested to return to our jobs, everyone was very gracious and helpful, as usual. We had asked for two specific things and received them on each trek up! We found a new eatery 4 min from the property and the food is wonderful. Also finally stopped in to the German Chocolatier's on the same road! Marvelous! Of Course short drive from Downtown Magog, where there's plenty to do and places to shop and eat! Love the community and each and every trek up we find more and more gems and meet such wonderful locals. We love Canada. On both sides my husband and myself our Ancestory is only short drives from the Hotel. Merci Merci!!

Wifi was a bit spotty later on in the later evening and morning*** One point at 2am the electricity went out in the entire village, an hour later it was restored, but the entire area was out, we were surprised as large as the hotel is they did have hall lights, stairwell lights, No Tv, we don't ever watch tv, except in the later evenings/early am. But best 5 days!! We had another reservation and this is the extended reservation. Too much fun to go home!!

- The customer service, receptionist’s work was excellent - hearing issues and listening clients with human approach are two quite different things - Nature in general, pools and rental equipment - Access to mini farm and entertainment room for kids in a hotel near by

- We had a number of issues with Booking.com support team at reservation level. My recommendation would be to call directly to the hotel instead. - the jacuzzis were dirty with overdue sensors to change water - Isolation: noise from kids and any talking people from the hallway - in general the infrastructure is getting old but they try to maintain at certain level

Balcony, space in the room

I couldn't easily request a room with acessible features when booking. Upon arrival, when I asked they could do nothing. Our room was the last room at the far end of the building. A 20 minute walk for my husband with his walker. We did enjoy the balcony but felt there may have been another room closer to the elevator that we could have been moved to as it did not seem that the facility was full. no way for my husband to get to the indoor pool which he would have used as there were no handrails to get down the steps from the changing areas.

- Good value for the price. - Very nice view of the room, as it was all snowy outside - Easy access to the outside area (play in snow) - I loved the outside jacuzzi in winter - I also loved that all snow equipment was available for free (tubes and slides, raquettes, ski de fond) - the hotel's gold course turned into a lovely snow play area - Love that we had access to the Charibourg Hotel installations too - our son could play in the indoor playground, and we could use the pool (which we didn't). - The room was clean and not as outdated as some other reviews said. Good room size. The bathroom was ok, nothing fancy but what we needed. - The breakfast buffet was ok for the price, nothing extraordinary, but with good variety.

- At some point, the air conditioner stopped throwing hot air and only cold air would come out. It got pretty cold in the bedroom. I think the reception has total control over it and some time after calling and complaining, it started throwing warm air again. - Double bad was the regular size, not large. Quite uncomfortable, too. The sofa bed was uncomfortable as well. - We ended up sleeping 2 adults and 1 toddler on a simple double bed, which would have been very unpleasant if we had stayed more than 3 nights.

Great view from my room! Had access directly to the lake from my balcony. I like that we have access to kayak, sup at not extra cost. The tennis court was really great too!

The mattress was not super comfy although the room is really clean. No carpet..perfect! The water in the sink and the shower took time to go down. No light outside after dark...would be nice to have the light at the tennis court open until 10-11 pm

Room and bathroom was very big and clean. Large barhtub with jets. Great view. Lots of free activities. 2 pools, spas and sauna.

Balcony and outdoor grounds could use a little upkeep: lots of cobwebs and peeling paint, mold around windows and patio where the outdoor spa is. The spas had green mold in them. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Mattress too thin and you could feel the springs.

We usually stay closer to the Center of Magog. We stayed this time in the Villages area. We love it. We went away to destress from our jobs, and The Eastern Townships/Magog areas do just that! The rest close to the places are family rest and we tried both of them one of breakfast/one for later lunch. Both Great, servers wonderful as well!

We loved our stay, we'll be back! And we don't even golf.

I really liked the setting in nature of the place: the lake with all the accessories to explore it, the pool, the hot tubs, the tennis / pickleball court. The kids had lots to do while I could relax by the water as well. Close to Magog (14 min). We’ll definitely be back.

It would of been nice to have chairs on the back patio to sit and read in the morning while having my coffee.

Great for outdoor enthusiasts. With its expansive grounds featuring a golf course, kayaking, paddleboarding, and tennis facilities, property offers a perfect blend of relaxation and recreation. The lush green lawns are invigorating, and the convenient 5-minute drive to Magog's high street adds to its allure.

Disposable mugs for coffee need to be provided in the room.

very lovely place, big rooms and bathrooms, real fireplace was a lovely addition after a full day of skiing. super nice staff, very clean and proper. we forgot to open the vent for the fireplace and they immediately sent two technicians, super nice and professional.

didn’t really bother us, but something to keep in mind: make a reservation for the restaurant if you want to use it (they run out of food and we couldn’t walk in), very little choice of restaurants with delivery, but we got a decent pizza delivered. same with the spa, i wanted to get a massage in the morning, but the closest availability was 2pm (not a big deal, but make a reservation if you want to use it).
