The design of the hotel and rooms was very in keeping with the location and an ideal 2min walk from the main street. We did the hotel transfer from Calama airport which was pretty expensive but bus options appeared limited. Welcome drink on arrival. Pretty good breakfast selection. Pool was ridiculously cold though, more for show, and had to pay for jacuzzi so didn't try it. The massages across the road which are part of the hotel were really good and the pool area there was better to relax in afterwards.

Our room was close to the road so early morning tour vans were annoying with ear plugs. The gas fire was also put on every evening when we were out for dinner, so room was a bit stuffy (we always turned off as soon as we got back).

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very well located. Unlike the whole San Pedro de Atacama anti-tourist vibe which we felt during our stay, Sevla, the receptionist, gave us the warmest welcome. The room was comfortable and came with a fridge and mini bar and a cute patio outside. Wifi signal was good. Breakfast can be given packed (sandwich, yoghurt, apple, nuts, brownie, juice) if requested in advance (this is so good for those with early departures). We really enjoyed the food and drinks at the restaurant, prices are quite reasonable, compared to some restaurants in the main street. Breakfast included eggs, bread, ham, cheese, cereals and some sweet pastries. There is also a small pool and jacuzzi for common use. I liked their environmental approach to towel washing.

The only downsides were: 1. Parking availability is limited so key car must be left at reception. In the evening the car may sometimes be moved to a location elswhere by a member of staff depending on what time you will be using it the next day. To be fair, they really handled our requests in advance well and we always found our car ready for use. 2. No AC in the room, only fan. We visited in the beginning of April, which is the start of fall and the room was too warm so in summer it is definitely unbearable.

Traditional built with materials as people in town would do. I loved the terrace with view over Licancabur volcano (shame for electric cables that also make part of the view) and the ceiling window at the room to see the moon and beautiful Atacama sky. Also looooved the detail of towels folded as mountains over the bed

There was nothing in particular for the property itself. I found it very nice and peaceful. I would appreciate more soul as the place itself is really nice.

Located steps from the main tourist street with shops, tour companies, restaurants, market. Quiet, especially given central location. Restaurant was fabulous food - fresh and interesting options for dinner. Spa services easy to book, and reasonable for basics. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Stored luggage between check out and departure. Included breakfast of eggs, fruit, juice, bread, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea.

Wifi in rooms was spotty - better closer to the road. Worked pretty well in common areas, which is what was promised.

The staff in both the hotel reception and restaurant were fantastic. Warm, professional, helpful, accommodating. The rooms are well designed with skylights and windows, wood accents. The location is great and on-site parking. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The menu is a bit limited but what I had- the steak and salad-were very good.

A common area to lounge in and use Wi-Fi would’ve been nice. More outlets. These are minor things.

San Pedro de Atacama is a small, dusty desert town. Hotel Kimal is not -- it is an oasis in the desert. The property is clean, well-maintained, safe, and conveniently located. The restaurant on-premises is welcoming and of excellent quality, including the small but well-chosen selection of drinks.

We visited during the winter, so could not use the pool facilities which looked like they would be refreshing in the summertime heat.

Staff were very helpful especially the lady on reception - she gave us lots of help and advice on where to go out to (we had our own car so could drive to places ourselves instead of booking tours). Enjoyed the breakfast. Hotel is in a great location - right off the main Street of San Pedro but still nice and quiet.

Just a couple of extras in the room would have been good - a kettle to make a cup of tea and some cutlery so we could make our lunches. Or a lunch package from the hotel. Air con would be amazing but appreciate this would be a big extra cost - was ok with the fan.

Very nice hotel and beautifully built, almost like a little town inside. Staff is welcoming. We had lunch at their restaurant which is very good. You can use two pools (but also has covid restrictions) which are very nice.

The room didn't have aircondition, and the heat got stuck inside the room, because of poor ventilation. There is a ventilator though. And then the breakfast was not too varied because of covid restrictions so some things were preserved and therefore they didn't give all options for yogurt, cereals - after some days you can see that you can choose other things.

Perfect location at the end of the main ‘street’…loved the feel of the property and set up. Sort of bungalo’s within a hotel. Bfst amazing and so nice of them to set out a bag bfst for the Geiser or Rocks tour you came for and depart 6am

That pool you see is freezing, can sit by it but probably won’t use…that hot tub next to it broken.

Great staff. Very helpful. Great location. Clean. Loves everything about this place except 1 thing.

There isn't air conditioning. So the rooms are uncomfortable in Jan when we were there. Coming from the USA, never dawned on me to check into that when you're going to the desert.
