The Westin Bund Center, Shanghai

The lobby staff, especially the bellboys were super nice. Since I didn’t have a Chinese cellphone number, they helped book taxi rides for me and offered extensive instructions for how to get around.

Beware that since the location is on the Bund, which is Both a good and a bad thing, the walking around is great, and the hotel is close to a subway station. However it is EXTREMELY difficult to get a taxi or a ride share due to the location being constantly crowded, especially during commute hours. Plan significant buffers if you are taking a taxi or ride share to the airport.

Great location, room had the correct amount of space and was very well appointed, with plenty of closet space. Excellent rain shower, separate tub, lots of space on the sink counter for personal items, and magnifying mirror w/ light in the bathroom, which I find extremely useful. Very good breakfast, with a good variety of eastern & western food.

The chair provided for the room’s work space, despite being a leather, modern-looking model, has close to no cushioning, and therefore becomes quite uncomfortable after one has been sitting there for a couple of hours. It also seemed to me that the restaurants in the hotel closed too early (9pm or 9:30pm).

Great breakfast available from 6:30 with a variety of options from traditional Chinese to continental. Spacious and clean rooms with Bathtubs, this is exactly what you need after the tiring day. Location is in the heart of downtown in Shanghai with so many places of sightseeing available at hand. Friendly and helpful personnel, helped to arrange a taxi for a meeting with my friend and held the belongings for my friend who collected it next morning after my check-out.

Really great location and very helpful crew! Especially breakfast crew- they flexible and understand sometimes I need to have early breakfast to catch meeting and flight - even before their official start time , love them !

Maybe due to summer season sometime reception / front desk queue too long and lack of resources .. Room service wise seems nobody washed the tea mugs which has been clearly used last night ..

Location is central near Bund, yu yuan garden and nanjing road, all walkable distance. However the nearest metro is about 10 min walk. Staff were attentive and went extra mile to help me check on my taobao package delivery. Room sanitized daily. Overall good experience.

Room quite stuffy despite air conditioned switched to max. I have to open the window to get more ventilation.

the upgraded room is great, love the big space. the crown duplex room was quite narrow and small, but I am glad that the staff upgraded our room. otherwise, the room we reserved originally was not comfortable

not anything i can think of now. but I think the tea at the lobby bar was not great, I m surprised that each tea (I tried 3 types of teas as I was meeting with friends at different time) was below my expectations.

Our stay was lovely. We were fortunate enough to be offered a room upgrade with a gorgeous view and spacious room. The staff were friendly and went over and above to make us feel welcome. The buffet breakfast was amazing, lots of variety and very grateful for the transport and sight seeing advice.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Any issues were sorted promptly.

It’s an international hotel so you know what type of standard to expect, which is great for anyone new to China. Checkout was made simple in view of the crowd of guests at the hotel. Very practical.

The breakfast service was quite chaotic. It was too crowded at certain hours and staff were unable to keep up with clearing and cleaning of tables. Altogether the hotel seemed overwhelmed.

Breakfast - Include breakfast when booking the room(s) expensive. Plenty of choice and staff more than helpful Lobby area - plenty of space and very inviting, includes a restaurant in the atrium, coffee shop and cafe. The concierge was helpful but not very knowledgeable about the local area. Location - couldn't fault the location, Bund, Nanjing Road, and many other places within 15-25 minutes walk (even with a 5-year-old) Leisure facilities - decent pool not deep and fills up with swimmers quickly, spa facilities, weights room, cardio room, gym room, something for everyone. Service- excellent service, immediate and helpful. Tips - Ask for a high floor looking towards Pudong CBD. If you have 3 in your party make sure they know it's, adults, children teenagers etc so you get a good size sofa. Most sockets are the British 3 pin square, bring an adapter. Bring in your own snacks and drinks, mini bar is expensive. The Hotel does have connecting rooms useful for a group of more than 3. Arrange your own taxi to the Hotel from the airport, cheaper. Going to the airport allow about an hour, Friday evening traffic on the elevated ring road very busy! In the summer we had a routine of an earlyish breakfast, morning sightseeing, local lunch, swimming/chill out local dinner and evening walk around the Bund, Nanjing Road and neighbourhood worked well for teenagers and a 5-year-old. Plenty of small restaurants around Cantonese style, Hong Kong style, Pizza Marzano (Express) BK, McD, KFC etc within 15 minutes walk in the Bund and Nanjing road areas. Great morning walk down Nanjing road to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, Pudong via the tourist bizarre tourist tunnel Nanshi old town/Yu Garden visit in the morning - gets Very busy! Summer is very hot and sweaty, winter can be very cold with the wind down the river

Bedroom - we paid for a room for 3, the third bed was a tiny sofa, okay for our 5-year-old, just. In the other two rooms, we booked the sofas were large enough for an adult. Not enough hangers in the bathroom to hang towels and clothes. Slow to respond to Covid enquiries and given incorrect information Slow check in- very busy, but not all check-in stations manned We would have given an overall 10 except for these points

great location, walking distance to Nanjing Road and Yuyuan Garden. The room is big but seems a little bit old but overall is good.
