Hotel Novotel Cairo El Borg

You must get a Nile River view room. The room I was in had floor to ceiling windows so you feel like you're on the Nile! You can watch the hustle and bustle of the river, the streets and the bridge - all from your bed! I was room 3007. Plus the sunrise and the nighttime view are totally different to the daytime view. Another standout is the breakfast. FRESH FRESH FRESH! Makes all the difference.

Dont let the little foyer fool you. The lobby is a little underwhelming, BUT once you get to your Nile River Room youll be soooo happy. Also - theres no alcohol on the property but thats just an FYI. Not a deal breaker for me.

i will never come back to the hotel even with all great things in property when i checked out with my sister the manger told us that we are broken the TV when your engineer came and cheched he said this is from inside the TV, but she insisted to let us paid 450 us dollars, it was obeviuos that you planned to take from us the money, anyway I have a group of friends will come next week i was highly recomended your hotel, but yesterday i told them the story and advise them to never reserve your hotel. because you have ethical and behavior issue

When we arrived they upgraded us to a suite which had the most amazing views over the Nile. The room was funky so it didn't feel like a "business" hotel. The roof terrace is brilliant and the food is very good and the portions are large. Breakfast is also very good - great mix of different cultures of food and available to 10.30am which is very civilised. It is a dry hotel but there are bars about 15-20 minute walk away and it is safe to walk or easy to get a taxi. The reception staff are lovely - very friendly and helpful and smiley. We felt very welcome and at home. I would definitely recommend this over the other "western" hotels - it is the best value for money and the best located for going to Tahrir Square and Downtown Cairo. It was exceptionally clean and spacious. Will definitely stay here again. Best thing though - the room was SOUND PROOF!! A godsend in Cairo.

The pillows! They are huge!! We ended up using the cushions. Other than that it was faultless.

the room facing the river had a great view but it got way too noise from 11 pm to 3 am with the parties at the boats.

The staff were very very helpful, very friendly while not intrusive and helped us have a comfortable stay. Especially Mohammed and Tahir at the front desk, Tamer manager and Mirna at guest relations were really great! Breakfast was better than we had expected. We had a chance to try some Egyptian specialties like falafel, foul mudammas, golden berry, local bread…which were all delicious. The staff at the restaurant were also very attentive and kind. Location is very close to Tahrir Square and the Cairo Museum, very easy to get around

The hotel faces the Nile River where there are tour boats with lively music and dancing. Some noise from these boats as well as traffic can be heard in the rooms. It was not at a level that disturbed our sleep or anything but just info for those who are sensitive to street sounds

I liked literally everything. It is extreemly nice hotel, everything is perfect. I liked the professionalizam and conducting with guests as they are friends. General manager Mr Abdul was super friendly and kind, i talked to him like i know him for years, and also restaurant manager Mr Tamer was so welcoming and warm, he even gave me breakfast when i was late to get one, as also at the reception Mr Yehia so helpful and it was wonderful to see him with a big smile in the morning. Also i like to commend and say my outmost appreciation to cleaning staff - they are doing really their best and they are constantly working, pool employees (this is very hard work on high temperatures), and all service team that are really doing their best, with outmost professionalizam. I specially liked Ms Donia and Ms Yassmin, i loved how they aproach a guest with respect, style and kindness. I would love to come again soon. I didnt like that i had to prolonged my visit for three nights, and that that cost me almost as 6 nights that i already payed. That was only very low point.

Great hotel on the river near the Cairo Tower, walking distance (across the Nile) to the Egyptian Museum, and close to the restaurants of Zamalek. The staff were excellent and really helpful, and assisted with an early check in (after we arrived from the overnight train from Luxor) and also a late check out … and gave us a room upgrade so that we would have more space with our two children! The kids enjoyed the pool to cool down after the hustle and bustle of Cairo!

Our stay at Novotel El Borg was eventful due to a medical emergency which caused us to extend unexpectedly. Staff at the hotel- from housekeepers to front of desk - could not have been more helpful or reassuring under difficult circumstances. The hotel was very comfortable and in-house eating options were very satisfactory. When the air conditioning malfunctioned at one point, it was immediately attended to and repaired. For a well priced, four star hotel- it met and exceeded our expectations.

The staff are really good. Very polite, very professional, and a great attitude of service.

Common areas, reception area, etc. were not great. Breakfast menu felt like it had limited options. There's no car-accessible ramp leading to the hotel, so you have to carry your own luggage in or call the concierge to help you. The hotel Wifi was terrible. Speed was very slow, and at times, it felt like it was disconnected at the router level. I actually preferred to use my international roaming data rather than the hotel Wifi.
