L'Hotel De L'Esperance

The distance from all point. I love the beautiful facade of the hotel and the color combination Bed was comfortable. All the staff are attentive to the needs of the guest. We stayed 2 nights and at 1st night, it was about midnight the lights was off suddenly, the assigned desk officer that night has fix right away the problem.

The little problem is in the restaurant, their menu was written only in French and no pictures, about how it looks like that plate or dish.

Room was quiet and large enough. Double entry door with small space in between which meant that there was no sound from the corridor. Good, calm air to the whole place - old world charm but not at all fusty. Lift made luggage handling easier. Great location in central Lisieux Large garage parking on ground floor, excellent. Beautiful, spacious breakfast room - obviously the dining room in earlier times. Staff pleasant and helpful. Very central, gorgeous frontage and gracious entrance. Lovely.

Access to garage directly from the hotel (internal door) would have been useful for items left in car but this is a very small matter only.

The most outstanding thing about this hotel is the staff. Excellent restaurant recommendation from the gentleman who checked us in. We had problems with baggage that we had shipped to the hotel before we arrived from the U.S. . Members of the staff took it upon themselves to keep us posted on whether the bags arrived, and when the bags didn't arrive until after our stay, the staff were very helpful in arranging collection of the bags. On another note, this is an older hotel, but my spouse pointed out how very well it was kept. (We had just come from a brand-new hotel that was already showing signs of wear.)

It was a hot summer day and we had to keep the windows open but the street was quite noisy. No coffee-maker in room.

It was a very well run hotel . We would stay there again good value for money ,Lisieux has some poor hotels so this was a good choice Breakfast was very good for a French hotel , very hot showers

It was a shock To find we had not booked the car into the garage,. I wrongly assumed I had done so reception explained that if you book with Booking .Com you have to send an email to the hotel for parking , so I suppose If anything this is a Booking. com fault as it was not made clear!!! Anyhow as we arrived Saturday Evening We were able to park in the center of the road Free until 9 o'clock Monday and the hotel had security cameras so all was well

The staff were outstanding, and the manager Pierre went out of his way to help with dinner . My wife is allergic to fish, so he had the chef prepare a special main course for her .. The room was excellent and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Well, worth a stay .

Any little niggles were outweighed by the overall experience

The hotel is in a large & gracious building, well located in the city. The staff were enthusiastic & professional. The room was very clean & comfortable. There is a garage for which you pay a daily fee. We also enjoyed the food in the onsite restaurant: a varied bistro menu, generous portions & a complementary Calvados. The size of hotel means it is good for groups, but spacious enough to not be crowded.

The property was close to everything. It had indoor parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size. Updated, but still maintained its character.

The restaurant was closed because work was being done on it. There was no air conditioning, however there was a Juliet balcony door that could be opened. Breakfast was standard, should have just gone to a cafe for my coffee and Croissant.

We travel with a group of teenagers . Big clean rooms , comfy beds .every room that we had , have bathrooms . Near the center of The town and 10 min away from the railway station .

You need to put more photos, we expect less .

Traditional hotel in a main street but with garage parking available. Our room was compact but fine for one night. Tired so dined in at hotel which had a large traditional menu & was good value. The food was not outstanding but when travelling the meal is functional for us. The breakfast also had plenty of choice.

The en-suite was very compact! But OK for 1 night.

Lovely building, good restaurant and bar. Central location with its own parking in lively town. Reception staff were very helpful when garage entrance was blocked by illegally parked car and with help from Police was cleared in 30 minutes so we could get on our way. Very quick work.

Shower fitment loose and bed mattress was a bit uneven.
