Hotel De Gramont

We had a superior double room which was clean and spacious with two sets of windows overlooking the fountain. The bed was comfortable and it was one of the few hotels we stayed in that gave us plenty of pillows. we are planning to visit Pau again and the Hotel Gramont is definately one we will stay in again.

The shower was over the bath and was very difficult to turn on unless you stood in the bath. The bath was very high and for elderly visitors, this would have been very difficult to climb into. Other rooms had walk in showers, so this may be planned for the room we were in. The lighting in the bathroom was very subdued so difficult to put make up on. The parking area was a good walk away from the hotel.

The location is quiet and closed to everything to visit downtown Pau, AND with easy access. Also it is very easy to park the car very close to the hotel.

We did like the hotel a lot. Only it's to observe the standards that have evolved while developing the 21st century. It's to understand this kind hotel would not evolve to the last modern architecture trends, and it won't make sense. Being classic, Art Déco period, or some old British ambiance is nice to find (yet it's been some history of Pau with rich English families in vacation in the 20th earlies).

the room, the style, the staff. I stayed only one night but if I am back there I will definitely stay more.

The fact that the parking is not far from the hotel, but it is not indicated on the hotel description. (too bad) I got stressed by that. anyway the staff told me right away where to go when I asked and again it was a plus (big public parking with video surveillance nearby). The breakfast I found t a bit expensive, but it is probably because I got used to that good deal of an hotel.

Old school hotel in central location. Our room was good size with comfy bed and pillows. Very close to the palace. Highly recommend the large covered food market!

I contacted the property in advance to confirm parking arrangements but they didn’t reply until after we left! we parked in Place Verdun South for 3 Euros on the advice of a reviewer, about 400 m walk from the hotel. Upon arrival realised that we could have parked directly in front of the hotel.

Splendid location in the centre of town. We were very lucky that the concierge arranged for us to park for free right outside the door. There is a pay car park 2 minutes walk away. Our room (4) was on the lower ground floor and was huge. It was set up for disabled guests and was a suite and very well equipped. The only downside was a poor WIFI connection which could only be obtained by standing by the open window. There was a good choice of foods for breakfast and the hotel is within a short walk of several restaurants.

We had a great stay @Hotel de Gramont. A very spacious room, very comfy & large bed and large bathroom which included both a shower as well as bad. The location of the hotel is perfect! Free sparking space in front of the hotel and a large parking area around the corner. Moreover, restaurants and bars are within 200m reach. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to our next stay in this hotel.

Close to the city centre.

They didn't have parking space nor a garage. We had to park at a public parking, which was inexpensive and close to the hotel but when we visited there it was quite full. I asked for a room with a balcony, which turned out to be a tiny terrace, which wasn't at all cleaned. Obviously the room hasn't been used for a long time and was rather dusty and had spiders nests at almost every corner.

The hotel was completely satisfactory, it is a little bit dated and I hadn't realised before booking that it didn't have a bar or restaurant but this didn't matter as excellent bars and restaurants within easy walk. Breakfast was available and was good.

we’ll situated. our first impression was disappointment as our “superior” room was very small. we thought there had been a mistake. when I queried it I was assured it was the right room. I asked if we could pay more and move to a suite, but all were taken. However for the second night, they moved us to a suite at no extra cost, which was very nice of them. This too was very nice indeed.

The room was spacious and comfortable and the bed was too. The hotel was a short walk from lots of bars and restaurants.

The parking was quite a long way from the hotel. The hairdryer was very slow and the shower (in the bath) was very difficult to turn on. You had to get into the bath first and then grapple with the three-fold door and the taps.
