ibis Saint-Omer Centre

In the heart of the town right next to the Cathedral the accommodation was well placed. With secure on site parking it was perfect for motorcycles and cars. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the place had a good vibe about it. The room was small but functional and looked over the courtyard where the vehicles were (added security). The bar and restaurant catered for all tastes and breakfast had a good selection of foods for all tastes.

The only niggle was the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room, but to be fair, on request the staff were happy to provide hot water at least but you still needed to provide your own stash of drink sachets etc.

For a British visitor fresh off the channel crossings this venue gets you out of the channel port mayhem and into real France. St Omer is an excellent town to visit with plenty of bars and restaurants of all levels to keep us happy. The hotel has it's own parking which you pay for, parking in the surrounding streets is free after 6pm and before 8am the following day. Great breakfast available in the morning.

The size of the rooms is acceptable for 2 people for one or at a push two nights but I would not want to spend a whole week there. Similarly the bathroom is on the small size, clean but small.

Rear courtyard room overlooking car park (sufficiency for a dozen vehicles). Warm and welcoming. A good, wide double bed.

There was a loud guest - Mimi le chat - apparently abandoned in the courtyard. She wailed loudly and often on our first night, less so the second night (we needed the window open, the room was so warm); she was much quieter the third night (a sore throat?). We saw her being petted and pick-up by staff on the Monday morning, realizing that she was NOT a stray. Bringing your cat to a hotel is a bit of a novelty (pets are allowed here!), but it has consequences if left out overnight!

We stayed twice, on the way to and from the Alps so this refers to both stays, we did the same last year. Bar service, breakfast and dinner on our return stay were all excellent. Although I grudge paying for parking it feels safe so it’s not a deal breaker. Staff in new uniforms too which looked good!

Only issue on our first stay was the chambermaids having an extended and loud conversation outside our bedroom door. On the second stay there was a large stain on the bedroom carpet floor.

The staff was AMAZING. The young ladies were very helpful to our needs and with a smile on their face . Well done . Keep it up . Got to taste a very tasty local St.Omer beer. Delicious

The single bed it was fantastic and very very comfortable, especially cause I had car accident.One little issue though , it was rather small as a single bed.If you were to turn side to side ,you had to do it with caution otherwise you would fall on the floor 🤣.

Location excellant in centre and convenient for travelling. One room a little noisy when windows opened due to hot weather. Breakfast excellant choice and good quality products. evening meals were also very very good with good service amd ambience.

Maybe air conditioning. we travelled when temperatures were extremely hot, fans were provided in rooms but only adequate. However for one night stay it was adequate.

Perfect location to explore from, great parking facilities, clean and comfortable rooms but most of all the helpful, friendly staff who are always available to assist with anything. As a non French speaking visitor l was able to get directions, advise and help from all staff, happily given with a smile. l had the perfect long weekend stay. l can’t fault them!

The helpful polite staff were the best

The hotel is located one block away from St Omer's main square. This was our second stay here. The room was clean and slightly on the small side but OK for a few nights' stay. The buffet breakfast was plentiful. The free Wi-Fi was rock-solid in our room. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was good. Although there is paid parking at the hotel, there are a couple of free car parks nearby. The closest is off the roundabout on the Boulevard Vauban but we struggled to find a free space there. The Cathedral car park is about a 250m walk away - unless you're carrying heavy cases, look out for the subway by La Sainte Union.

Delightful hotel right in the Town Centre, with it's own great bar. Courtyard parking is excellent for motorcycles, with wonderful staff.

The rooms have secondary glazing to keep down the road noise - which work well, but when it's hot - opening them means you can't sleep because of the noise. The roadside rooms need air conditioning.

Very pet friendly and the staff were very helpful in French and English. The excellent inclusive breakfast.

The sound-proofing was non-existent. I am sure that the hotel does not have guests talking until 4am every night, but when they do, forget about sleeping well. The hotel needs to be able to allocate parking. When you are heading for Calais or south, with a fully loaded car, you need to know whether the car will be securely locked in the hotel or not.
