Mercure Hotel Freiburg am Münster

The location is superb, very close to downtown, but not inside so transportation is very easy. The breakfast is also very good, many different options, so everyone was satisfied. The staff is kind and the view from both our rooms was fantastic (the black forest in one of them, downtown from the other).

Hotel's policy that in each room must be adult person. My wife and I, had to decide if we stay at different rooms or same room but separate bed. Also some small refrigerator could be useful.

- Stuff at the reception is very friendly and helpful - Location is great - train station and city center is in 10-15 minutes of relaxing walk distance, there is also a big parking lot just in the hotel's underground - Rooms are quite spacious and clean - Wi-fi is so far the best from all hotels we've ever been

There was a mess with breakfast reservations (we didn't reserve it, but hotel's system was showing it otherwise), but it was resolved by stuff on the first day of our stay, so I can't really complain much

Clean comfortable room near the muenster. Comfortable bed. They kept our bikes safe in a room behind the reception desk and held our luggage when we arrived early Tea and instant coffee available in our room.

We thought the directional signage could be better as we had some difficulty finding the entrance the first time. It is in the same building as a small shopping mall.

Excellent location if you want to explore the historic center of Freiburg. Nice, comfortable room, great sound proof windows, super comfy mattress, good buffet breakfast. I really appreciated the modern, walk-in shower with the anti-slip floor and the fine aroma of the quality soap. Friendly and efficient staff at reception and breakfast.

The housekeepers on the 5th floor were talking loudly to each other to organize their job. They may found it normal to shout to each other, from the one end of the corridor to the other, at 08:00 a.m. in a mid-week day BUT they may consider that for some guests, a mid-week day may be a vacation day and they want to sleep a little more. That's why the hotel serves breakfast until 10:00 a.m., isn't it? Also, a little pricey for a 3 stars (plus) hotel but it worth it because of the location.

The location is excellent, with an easy walking access to all central areas. Clean and very comfortable rooms with all the facilities that you might need. We were travelling with the kid and arrived three hours early before the check-in time, but the staff was helpful to accommodate us within minutes. It was a big relief after the 12 hours flight. Breakfast delicious. Nice design and modern hotel. Would recommend to anyone.

The room was very modern, had a lovely balcony overlooking the old town, and air conditioning, robes etc, and large corner windows. The bathroom was also a good size with a large shower and lots of toiletries. Very close to the old town, and lots of bars and restaurants close by. Parking was under the hotel in a public paid car park , but the hotel has its own level and we were lucky to be located by the lift, and also had peak and off peak rates. Breakfast was very good and lots of choice.

Check in and out took the longest for all of the hotels on our trip , and after riding motorcycles in the heat , we just wanted to get out of our gear and showered, also by the time we got our bikes to the barrier on the way out, the 15 mins time out had expired due to the time it took to check us out, and we had to wait for assistance. The bar area and facilities were all closed, so for the price of the hotel, versus the facilities advertised it was a little disappointing. But it was centrally located so didn't really cause an issue to us. They did have a vending machine in reception with beers and drinks if required.

Amenities excellent, b’fast excellent, staff superb and very helpful, location could not have been better as within close walking distance to the Centre and also right onto the main roads leading out of Freiburg. The parking garage just under the hotel could not have been easier. Very good restaurants across the road or close by.

The Check-in time specified was 3pm but we had reached Freiburg at 11:30am so our plan was to store our luggage at the hotel's luggage storage and head out to roam the city and then come back later in the evening for checking in. But when we reached the hotel at around 11:30am, they allowed us to check-in right away which was a pleasant surprise for us. The early check-in really helped us freshen up from the journey to Freiburg before heading out into the city.

not clear how to access car park and signage in car park for the lift that goes to the hotel reception not easy to spot

very good location (city center), clean and tidy room, nice view to hills around the city. many restaurants are available around the hotel. Nice and supportive staff. with tram no. 4 you can easily access the main train station.
