Hotel Bayerischer Hof

We have stayed at this hotel about five times and always try to include it in our itinerary if we are in the area it is so good. The first time I arrived by train without my wife. This was before booking agencies existed and I saw this hotel just 50 yards away. This was most convenient and I immediately booked and found the facilities to be superb with a wonderful breakfast. I telephoned my wife and said we must come here next time we were abroad the only time in several years I have ever done this.

I am now somewhat disabled - there is no handrail available at the front entrance and consequently access is rather difficult (what tere is is obstructed by planters)

The hotel is very centrally located right opposite the Lindau Insel train station. The Lindau Kunstmuseum is located within walking distance of the hotel as are many restaurants and shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my breakfast at the restaurant with a beautiful view of Lake Constance/Bodensee. Although the hotel is located right in the heart of the city, I was able to enjoy a good night's rest.The

The glass shower screens attached to the bath tub were slightly too small for the area and there was some water splashing onto the floor after my shower. I had to use towels to keep the floor dry.

Dieses Hotel ist fantastisch!! Everything about it is just great, from the location across the street from the train station to the well-apportioned room, to the beautiful view of the harbor from it. I decided to splurge, and it was well worth it. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Lindau am Bodensee. Note: If you're arriving by train, make sure yours goes all the way to Lindua Insel rather than Lindau Reutin. If the latter, you'll have to change trains. It's probably easier than I made it, but there isn't any station at Lindau Reutin, making a little difficult find the right train going the short distance to the Insel. Multiple lines there. Bottom line, refer to the posted yellow sheet that lists all departures and arrivals.

The coffee served in the morning could have been hot, not luke warm. It's not easy to make sure everything is perfect.

Lovely Hotel with great views on the Harbour of Lindau. Very friendly staff, in the restaurant or at the reception. Special Thanks to Ms. Gribner from the reception for her assistance. Room Service was good. Breakfast arrived as ordered, only a slide missunderstanding, but it was quickly solved, so ok.

Unfortunately there was a construction going on in the room next to us, we could hear the noice from the drilling machine, but not for too long. Still, for a 5 Star Hotel i would have expected a little note or in the first place, a different room. The indoor pool was cold.

The location was great! A view onto the harbor and it’s icons! The restaurant was good and the breakfast was excellent, located towards the harbor with great views. The room I’m was cozy, design “classic elegance.”

When I first saw a room it had been clear that a smoker had stayed in it. It smelled poorly and the beautiful harbor view was obscured by faulty blinds which could not be pulled up all the way. Upon notifying the front desk I was given another room which was wonderful.

The room was very large and had an great view. The restaurant is excellent and the service was second to none! The hotel is close to the train station, we were able to leave in the last 20 minutes and still caught the train :)

The pool looks nice and its probably not a problem, but the water was kind of cold for me. Since the pool is not very big for sports swimming, it might be hard to get used to the water. I think it's just my wrong room choice, and it was shown on the photo, but the split mattresses were a bit annoying.

The main reasons why you should visit this property are: breakfast, spa and location. Breakfast features some home made ingredients and perfectly baked product. Spa is mostly empty, so you may be able to have it for yourself - indoor pool and saunas. It is the best location on the island, a couple of minues by walk from any attraction - you can take a beautiful walk next to the lake literally by walking out of the hotel... The train station is across the street and there is a hotel parking garage nearby.

Not sure if the Café bar at the corner in the same building is part of the hotel, but we were ignored for 30min while someone came by 5-6 times and we informed him we're waiting to order. The lake ferry is parked right in front of the hotel and it can be loud. This is not negative, but we found it unusual that we haven't seen any other young couples during our stay. The crowd was mosly mid-age to post-pension age group, and some of them had kids or grandchildren along.

TFantastic location, facing the lion and the harbour. The pools were lovely. I was told beforehand that only the putdoor pool was opened but so glad that i took my swimming costume as both pools were opened when we got there.. it was lovely that an assortment ofteabags were available at the spa area. Would be good to have apples and water in the gym too.. breakfast was lovely but a selection of small local cakes and more fruit choice or even smoothies would have been nice

For a 5 star hotel, there seemed to be very few staff around in reception. Never saw a concierge. The room was very dated. We were told that there was no iron available as it's an old hotel. I never understand this as we were allowed to plug in our own hairdryer etc . Receptionist did say that the ironing could be done for us but unsure how much that epuld cost... we had complimentary fizzy water on first day but not after that. Our child's extra bed was apparently uncomfortable- mattress was too thinl. Pur room was facing a courtyard.. i feel they could make the courtyard attractive... The place only met my expectations as i read some bad reviews and almost cancel the booking. Dont go with high expectations .. think more 4.5 star

5 star treatment throughout. Superb position especially for my wife who only the day before suffered a drastic fall so was severely impeded re mobility. Spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast. lovely pool, nice room with exceptional hot water, really quiet too. Fine cuisine with fish cooked absolutely correctly!

The hotel provides a peaceful haven overlooking Lindau Inslet harbour. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfasts are delicious offering a range of fresh produce. The bed was comfortable and the indoor pool was just the right temperature
