The Colony Hotel

The hotel was lovely, the staff helpful, the room clean and the breakfast fresh and generous.

Large price discrepancy between the price listed on the Booking.com site and what we actually paid, due to local taxes. This should be much clearer on your site, especially as you can see that we were connected from an Israeli address.

There was a very pleasant aura of cleanliness throughout the hotel. the rooms were fairly spacious, and the bathroom was exceptional - two sinks and a huge shower - very comfortable access. Breakfast was great, especially with the option to sit in the outdoor balcony/terrace area. very relaxing. Everything is within walking distance from the hotel making the location very desirable. The hotel was very quiet and not packed at all, we were very lucky to be upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the main street and the baha’i gardens. The tile designs all over the hotel were beautiful.

The pillows were not comfortable at all, they were a bit too high for my preference. one of the chairs on our room balcony was broken. shower windows were very exposed, providing very little coverage.

Good location, very kind staff, great food and generally the place was very nice.

The room was a bit smaller than I expected, the pictures make it seem larger. In addition, I didn’t see any ventilation devices in the bathroom (there was something there, but I don’t think it worked, however since we stayed only one night it wasn’t such an issue).

B'fast was very good - a great choice. I loved the room I was given. Loved the small exhibits of brass statues in reception area as well as the paintings.

Booking a taxi for an appointment with the help of staff at the hotel - unsuspecting travellers should be informed that it is best to determine the cost for the specified journey beforehand.

Staying at The Colony Hotel was unexpectedly superb. The room was clean and included a small refrigerator and a facility to make coffee/tea. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was large and modernly fitted out. Everything was in tip-top condition. Breakfast was good, the waiter was attentive to our requests and very helpful. Central location with a view of the Bahai Gardens, lively atmosphere especially at night. Abundant municipal parking nearby. Highly recommended.

The choice of TV channels was rather limited.

Location! It’s in the heart of the German Colony in Haifa, near the famous Baha’i Gardens, restaurants and shopping.

Minor things - like old curtains and upholstery that could use some touches (or replacement). The seven front desk people were great but for one grumpy lady; but even she was helpful at times and did not affect my pleasant stay at the Colony.

The room was spacious and clean. The chocolates were a nice touch The reception staff was very kind and helpful and always available. Fantastic breakfast. Considering that the room was on the main road, it was not too noisy

The bathtub was a jacuzzi style, but the jets did not work. The bathroom was a bit tired.

The location, the ambience of the place, helpful staff and a pretty good breakfast to boot! Friends had recommended the hotel and we were not disappointed. It's worth another visit.

Car parking was not clear although there is a car park behind the hotel (and other car parks close by) which you don't know about on arrival but apart from that, really, no complaints.

Our bathroom's floor was flooded with soap water, very slippery and dangerous. We had to change the room, the one we got was smaller than the first. The receptionist, Katya, was very helpful and changed the room immediately.

Breakfast: At breakfast the coffee was really bad (bitter, cold) and the hot water pot was also cold. Fortunately the machine produced hot water for the coffee we made from our own coffee packs (Taster's Choice). The sliced bread was taken from the freezer and was cold inside. We did not see a toaster to warm it up. No cereal.

Great and varied breakfast. Nice historic building. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The walls between the rooms were very thin, and there was some noise from the other guests. The mattress was not so comfortable, and the pillows were lumpy.
