Dimora Arco Basso - Old Town0

Roberto was the perfect host. My friend and myself stayed for two nights at Dimora Arco Basso. It is a beautiful apartment in one of the oldest historic buildings in Bari. Great location and great facilities. The breakfasts were amazing - Roberto was extremely generous and I am sorry I couldn't eat all the pastries. We visited during the intense heatwave but inside the apartment was pretty cool. Just down the steps are all the pasta makers and sellers. Would definitely stay here again.

The only possible thing to be careful of is the staircase up to the bedroom which is quite steep and would not be suitable for a very elderly person or very young child.

A very comfortable and unique place to stay. Location was great, right next to Old Town, with a beautiful castle across the street. The main floor is a roomy living room, and the stairs take you up to the bedroom and bathroom - everything was extremely clean. Yes, the stairs are a little steep, but we are in our mid-60's and had no issues. But the real gem of this place is the host, Roberto. He is accessible at any time of day, but at the same time respects your privacy. Every morning he wheeled in a breakfast cart loaded with all kinds of breakfast goodies, one of the best breakfasts you could have. Roberto is such a kind and thoughtful man, we can not thank him enough for making our trip to Bari so memorable.

It was perfect, no complaints about anything.

This was just beyond fabulous. We travel a lot and this by far has been one of the most amazing experiences we've had in a place to stay. Not only is the location ridiculously perfect, the apartment itself is gorgeous and super cool considering it's an ancient Roman guard post, and the icing on the cake is the amazing owner of this place, who you can tell takes such pride and enjoyment in his work ...down to every little detail it shows. And when we thought it couldn't get better he willed in a breakfast that literally would be perfect for the Royal family. There is no question I will look forward to coming back to this place again.

The only thing we didn't like was that we were only there for one day.

The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the pedestrian street, a nice street to walk. The apartment has all the facilities you need, I am saying all, since even a complete set of needles to fix clothes were available, of all colors. The breakfast was brought to the room by Roberto, the host, with all you need in a good breakfast. Roberto was extremely friend. The water of the shower was not in the temperature I like, I phoned him and in less than 10 minutes he was in the apartment increasing the temperature of the water. Shower, bed, bathroom, kitchen, all was good.

The suite was fantastic. It was comfortable and cozy. It was nice having a couch to sit back and relax after a long day. Roberto the host will assist with everything if you need, but is not overbearing. He makes a wonderful breakfast that you can eat in the comfort of your room. The location is perfect if you want to explore Bari. The gelato stand around the corner was some of the best i ever had. Also make sure to walk the town at night. Bari is an underated town. It has fantastic food and iteresting things to see.

Parking is difficult as you are in the city center so make sure to ask Riberto for the best options

Roberto is an excellent host - nothing was too much trouble for him. He sorted a rental wheelchair for us as my wife injured her leg a week before our holiday. Breakfasts were amazing and Roberto was happy to serve whatever we wanted and vary the time each day to fit in with our sightseeing plans. He provided advice on good places to visit & how to get there, sending us links to useful websites via WhatsApp. Plenty of space and a great location right in the old town.

Roberto was the most wonderful host and made our family feel so welcome. He suggested places to visit, restaurants, even helped us to plan a day trip to some other towns! The room was sparkling clean and he was even so kind helping us with our laundry. Breakfast was so delicious and the room was very comfortable and welcoming, the main bed and the sofa bed were both great!). Located in the historic centre, right near the Castle this is a fabulous location to explore the sights (and watch the ladies making pasta!) We would highly recommend staying with Roberto and would definitely stay here again.

Dimora Arco Basso is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Bari. It is at the start (or end) of the ‘pasta street’’ of medieval Bari, which is a top tip for all visitors to this fascinating and historic Italian city. It is a perfect location for seeing both Bari Vecchia and the Murat quarter, as well as for promenading along the gorgeous Adriatic coastline with its romantic lanterns. The Dimora has been lovingly restored and very tastefully decorated. The main bedroom is on the second level of the apartment and reached by a side staircase. The entry level has a lounge with sofa that can also serve as a second (and comfortable) bed. The host, Roberto, is a charming Italian gentleman. The well-being and comfort of his guests is genuinely of great importance to him. Normally, we like to eat breakfast and get out and explore. However, Roberto’s breakfasts are so delightful that it counts as a joy of being in Bari – and the coffee is great! I highly recommend a stay here.

Roberto is an exceptional host and a wonderful person! We are so glad we stayed with him. He welcomed us as old friends, helped us with advice when we needed information and was available for anything we requested. The place itself is situated in the heart of the old town and it is really convenient. The suite is very well furnished, clean and has anything you might need. The breakfast was great and served by Roberto himself in the apartment. We would stay there again if we come back to Bari :)

Roberto and this very romantic space is a true hidden secret of the city. Within walking distance of the port and everything there is to see in Old Town Bari. We stayed here for our honeymoon and could not be any happier or sincerely intrigued by not only the hospitality we received but from the surrounding beautiful area and things to see. Roberto is a true gentlemen and would help us the instant we said anything. He recommended great local places to eat and see as well as made us an elegant breakfast. If his hospitality wasnt enough to win us over, the actual place and location stole our hearts. Absolutely amazing and we will never forget it. A must stay for anyone traveling to Bari for any reason!!! Thank you Roberto!!!

The only thing we didn't like is that we could not stay longer! We would have stayed forever if we could!
