Locanda Capolago

Everything was great at Locanda Capolago starting off from its location, to the impeccable state of the rooms, to the superb breakfast and outstanding restaurant and to the most courteous of staff. Starting from the location, it’s great because it’s not in the heavily touristic areas of Bellagio, Meneggio and Varenna which makes it quieter. Being further north we could enjoy the beauty of the lake and the mountains alike. Having a car makes the beautiful towns peppering the lake all within reach so Bellagio, Menaggio, Varenna and others were all within reach. The rooms are highly finished and beautifully decorated. They are cleaned every single day. Toiletries are provided and towels are changed every single day. The breakfast was truly outstanding. They not only provide a buffet but they give you a menu to choose your own breakfast which they prepare on the spot. The restaurant is amazing. We are there twice and we were not disappointed. No wonder it was always fully booked for dinner. And the staff were ever so helpful and attended to all of our needs. And a very sweet gesture was seeing us off with a small complimentary bag of biscuits. Little things that go a long way. Everything was top notch.

There was a separate kids room off of our bedroom and a balcony so this felt super spacious!! It was only a short walk to the harbour. The facilities were clean and bright and the room had air con (decent air con at that) the staff were lovely and helpful

If we had to say anything - There were not enough pancakes at breakfast and it felt rude to ask for more There are reserved parking spaces but these filled up fast!

Great location - a short walk to the lake front. Not easy to find without google maps. There is some limited parking so be sure to request this if you need to. The hotel is a small family run business with just a few rooms. The rooms were anything but small! We had a large suite with two bedrooms with stylish antique decor. Where this hotel really stands out is the great service and the exceptionally good fish restaurant. We had the special chef's menu on our first night and it was perfect. A good selection of wines was available. The restaurant, not surprisingly, was popular with locals so be sure to book.

Our room didn't have a view - we overlooked rough ground. There are rooms with balconies I think. Next time we will ask for one of those.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Cute rooms in an old-fashioned style with modern facilities. The location was amazing, close to the station and also the beach. Very good breakfast.

The walls were very thin; no plant-based milk at the restaurant

The hotel is quite small and located neear the main road of Colico. The staff are very polite and quick to serve you. The rooms are big and beds are comfortable. The shower are big and shining clean. The breakfast was served with fresh bread and fine omelet.

What a fabulous little boutique hotel, absolutely gorgeous décor and furniture, bathroom suite very nice. Breakfast was lovely too, outside if its sunny, in a sweet garden. Colico is a small town so you are near everything, 5 mins walk to the lake edge.

The room was pleasant, breakfast delicious, all the personal were friendly. The location is perfect in colico, especially without a car. Great stay!

The view from the room is to a wall. But with lake Como and Alps just a minute walk away, it's nonsense.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, we had dinner at the hotel on one evening and it was memorable. The location was very convenient for train station. Would visit again.

great location, decorated very nicely but service by all staff members was beyond perfect. I’m a frequent visitor to the area and by far the best hotel I’ve used.
