So I booked this hotel on my first ever visit to Tokyo and I wasn't disappointed at all. I was travelling alone so know that rooms in Tokyo can be small, however this was perfect for me. The bed was a nice sized double, I am 6'4 tall and had no problems, the bed was SUPER comfy and very very clean and fresh, I slept very well every night. The staff were super friendly and always welcomed me on arrival to collect or hand in my key. The cleaning staff were kind and friendly too. The room had a kettle and a fridge and I was able to buy refreshments from the 2 local shops to make drinks whenever I wanted. Breakfast was a typical Japanese breakfast which I really enjoyed but I can see some westerners turning their nose up, however there are plenty of places nearby if you want something more western. The hotel is near major metro lines both Mistukoshimae and Nihombashi both have great connections and it's only about a 10 minute walk to Tokyo Main Station. The hotel has a convenience store nearby 7-11 and a small Supermarket. There are loads of bars and restaurants nearby. I would 500% stay at this hotel again when I visit TOKYO as it was everything I wanted on my budget. I really cannot fault my stay here.

The only thing is the bath is a little small, I know this is traditional in Japan but as someone who is 6'4 tall you can't really lie down and have a nice soak like I'm used to after a long day exploring the town. However I still managed to and there's always the shower. Again, this is to be expected as it's normal in Japan for small baths.

It's great value for the money and location, close to Tokyo station and other stations that will get you where you need to go, plenty of restaurants around to eat at cheaply or more luxuriously if you want. There's a big shopping mall, Coredo just a block away. Don't forget to check the Nihombashi bridge! There's free toiletries and tea/coffee in the lobby area as well as cold tea or water for the guests. You can leave your luggage after the check out for a few hours and go do some last minute sightseeing. The are clean towels and pyjamas given daily as well as water and slippers. There's a coin laundry and dryer in the hotel and vending machines. Convenience stores nearby.

The change from cooling AC to heating AC although it was rather warm still despite the end of October, I think that heating when the night temperature is 18°C is a bit excessive and there's no way to switch to cooling yourself. you gotta open the window and well, there's street noise outside as well as sometimes cigarette smell coming from other floors? So not great. Also, I appreciated the lovely cleaning staff that made sure I had clean towels etc. daily, but when the "do not disturb" sign is hanging, please just leave the towels hanging on the door handle, no need to knock, thank you!:)

This is a fantastic hotel for travellers on a budget who still want to have a nice and comfortable room in a great location. The single rooms were definitely big enough and the cleaners did a great job daily. Furthermore, the location was fantastic, a rather chique and business-y area, 15 minutes walking from the main Tokyo station which allows to to take Shinkansen or go to the airport but truly just a street away to Mitsukoshimae station. The area is rather low-key, but has some fancy shopping centres and great restaurants, some just in the next street had queues waiting infront of them the whole day.

The bathrooms, especially the shower/bathtub area were slightly hard to get in for someone not too agile but overall everything was fine.

My second stay at this hotel and, once again, it was everything I wanted. It's a basic, business hotel, so if you're wanting luxury you're in the wrong place, but it's friendly, clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location to explore the rest of Tokyo. I spent two weeks there and my room was cleaned every day (even when I snuck out late with a hangover) and everyone working behind the desk was always as friendly as you could hope. I wouldn't be surprised if my next trip to Tokyo saw me staying there again.

It's basic, but at that price, in that location, what else can you expect?

The hotel is 15 minutes walk to the Tokyo Central Station and 200m from the Mitsukoshimae Station. The room is small compared to regular ones, but more than enough for one single person. Everyday cleaning are done, the hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for a holiday as you have many stores near you. Near the hotel there're a lot of vending machines, that's positive for sure, you can get a drink right before/after leaving your room! Also a FamilyMart and a 7Eleven are really close to it.

The only thing that I didn't like were the shutters: they didn't close well so at 5AM you have daily light in your room but I'm used to sleep with a sleep mask so that was not an issue at all. Other than that, it was perfect!

The hotel was very accommodating and helped us find a storage solution for our luggage when we traveled to other cities in Japan before returning to Tokyo! The staff were very kind and patient with our queries. It was also a very short walk to several subway lines and a further, but still manageable walk to the massive Tokyo Station. Smile Hotel was a great budget choice for our stay in Tokyo— would definitely recommend for travelers looking for a no-fuss accommodation!

The room was on the smaller side and the bathroom was placed in such a way that made opening the door inconvenient, especially with large luggages in the way. In addition, as is the case with many hotels in Japan it seems, there is a tall step up into the bathroom. Just something to keep in mind for those with mobility issues!

The location is perfect! It is close to the popular subway line as well as to the airport NRT subway line, so it was super easy to get from the airport to the hotel. The personnel is amazing, and caring and was ready to help with everything: they've given the adapter for sockets, changed towels/sheets every day, left water every day, and in the hallway, everyone could take bathroom accessories if needed as well as umbrellas for free. The Wi-Fi was perfect as well and I am very satisfied with my stay in this hotel. Definitely recommend staying!

Great position (right next to Tokyo Station, super convenient for the Shinkansen to other cities!), very kind people at the reception, easy check-in/check-out procedures and incredibly clean place (they changed my slippers and towels every day). Also, the neighbourhood offers a lot of eating options and is very quiet at night. If I ever come back to Tokyo I'd stay at Smile Hotel again!

The room was not too spacious; no in-hotel spa. Besides this everything else was perfect!

Close to Tokyo station as well as Mitsukoshi-mae station that connects well with other tourist locations. Easy check in and out Can borrow an umbrella if it rains so no need to bring any with you. Tea and and coffee in the reception, you can grab some and bring it up to your room. Vending machines and coin laundry on the 8th floor (if you need change, buy something from the vending machine ;)). Close to restaurants and Family Mart konbini nearby. You can also take a bus from outside of that konbini to Tokyo station if it rains and you are checking out without an umbrella.

A little on the noisy side, especially the squeaky windows, definitely bring earplugs. If I were to add a suggestion - a body lotion would be nice with the cosmetics set.

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind and quickly addressed any issues or questions. If you have plans in the Ebisu / Nihonbashi area, this is perfect for you. The room is typical for this style of business hotel in Japan.

The hotel was closer to the expressway than expected, but couldn't hear it when the windows were closed. Also I stayed in an in-between-seasons time of year, and so it was hot without the possibility of air conditioning, but I was provided with a fan by the staff when requested.
