Tosei Hotel Cocone Ueno

The location is superb, very closed to Ueno station, Ameyoko market. Have direct line from Narita airport to Ueno st.(using Keisei line). Has direct yamanote line. Take main exit from Ueno st, cross the road and go along the back alley of the buildings on the street, is the most convenient way (i think) to the hotel The room and bathroom are small (as it was expected in Tokyo), but clean with adequate facilities. They provided pajamas for sleeping. Coffe machine is availaible on second floor (receptionist area). There is also kettle available in the room (which is very important item for me, bcs i need to always drink warm water during winter). They clean the room everyday upon request.

I'm a moslem, so it's a bit hard for me to perform my prayer in the room because it's too small. Hardly any space left to do it. One more, it is nice if the staffs smile more often 😊 They are not rude, just not "cheerful" enough

Small business rooms in a great location. Good place to stay if you are out all day visiting. Price is ok given it’s central location. Free amenities at reception was a nice touch! Scale at reception was wonderful for final day packing.

The hotel is a bit old and used. Shower curtain smelled moldy and sheets were a bit stained. Carpet and walls could use some replacement/painting. But it was otherwise clean. You can hear guests walking around in the room on the floor above (especially if they have heavy steps).

Location is great to near the convenience store, restaurant and drug store. For a foreign tourist, this is very convenient closer to the Ueno station to everywhere in Tokyo. And my favourite point is the way from hotel to the airport, for me, I'm alone to travel and the road is smoothly to the station with heavy baggage when I move to the airport train station! And so many hotel around here, this is lively even through I'm alone back to hotel at night.

The room not very good on sound-proofing when other guest back to their room. But this is not a big problem, just a little bit sound and let me hear they back on the corridor, and fully acceptable for me under the reasonable value and great location.

Amazing location, only a couple of minutes walk to Ueno station and Ueno park. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, able to help with everything you need. The room is small, but comfortable. There are a lot of extra touches that make it a better space such as a fridge, hairdryer, multiple sockets and usb, light switches next to bed, TV, hair conditioner, coat hangers, full length mirror, a kettle and tea. Fresh towels and robes every day, as well as water and green tea. There is a free coffee machine in the lobby, an ice machine and a coin laundry which worked well to wash and dry all our clothes for 500 yen. There is a rooftop terrace with a great view.

The bed is pretty hard and the pillow aren't very comfortable.

Very close to the train stations. Hotel also provides bath salt, small snacks and beverages at the reception area. Also allows you to pick a pillow best suit you. the TV also has information on status of the laundry service which is very helpful.

AC is controlled by the hotel thus it was very cold in the room most of the time since we travelled during winter. we had to bear with the stuffy room cos none of the mode works and had to open the window for some air circulation. Once in a while, the fan mode is able to switch on but other than keeping air circulation in the room, it doesn't help in keeping us warm.

Extremely kind and helpful staff, very comfortable bed. very clean, good water pressure, a tasty selection of Japanese and western breakfasts available for purchase. Very modern and stylish design handy location less than 500 metres from Ueno train station from which the Skyliner express train departs to Narita Airport. There is a laundry. / laundromat.

The room whilst perfectly formed was very small even by normal Tokyo hotel room standards. I was only travelling with cabin baggage yet the only place I could the bag flat so I could open it was in the hallway which obstructed access to the exit and bathroom

The hotel room is considered average size you can expect in Tokyo, there is a bathtub in every room, they clean up the room every day, it is pretty convenient to several kind of transportation, including Jr, Skyliner, etc. Great food choices around the corner.

Have stayed in this hotel for three times, some of the room are in weird shape that there is a long corridor within the room, which is Narrow enough for a kid to enter, you cannot even put your luggage there. My partner is tall and muscular, tried to request for a room for a bigger size, or tried to upgrade the room with extra money, however, seems like all the rooms are in the same size.

What an excellent stay! We loved this hotel. The room was a good size for Tokyo, especially compared to some of the smaller rooms we stayed in. It was nice and clean, housekeeping was completed everyday, including new towels and water bottles. The bed was very comfortable, and a decent size for two people. The staff was excellent, they were very helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, very close to the train and subway systems. An amazing night market was close by, that was a bonus. Also there were a lot of restaurants, convenience store and amenities close by. Laundry facilities were easy to use and accessible.

Our window faced an outside staircase where there was always someone sitting out there smoking. This was not really a big issue, we just couldn't leave our curtains open.

My husband and I booked this for the first leg of our honeymoon because we wanted a simple and conveniently located accommodation. Tosei Cocone was very clean and quiet, and in a fantastic location. We had no problem catching trains since we were so close to Ueno Station and no problem finding places to eat / things to do with Ameyoko a stone’s throw away. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The on-site laundry was also very convenient. Would absolutely stay here again.

Not a real complaint, but just reiterating that the rooms are small so you’ll need to keep your things organized. May not be ideal for larger travelers.

The staff was outstanding -- very responsive and polite. The location was ideal -- very close to Ueno Station, so accessible to just about anything you need. And the cost was extremely reasonable.

The rooms were very small, although they had all of the necessities you'd need. There was a window but the room I had on the 3rd floor faced a concrete wall, so no view and no daylight, something that can make a small room appear bigger. Appreciated that the television provided hotel information, particularly the availability of the washers, however, it didn't reflect whether they were empty so after three trips downstairs to do laundry I gave up because rude hotel guests weren't on top of it. Maybe signage indicating the items would be removed by staff after a set amount of time would encourage guests to be more considerate. Also, as much as I love watching Japanese television, it would've been nice to have had the option to access Netflix.
