The G Hotel by JL

The hotel has a really good location, 2 minutes walk from the bus station. The neighborhood is a bit noisy, but we particularly liked it, since we came to Malta to have fun 💃🏼 The room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable. We had a nice balcony as well with a view to the street. The 2 girls at the reception were very kind and helpful, a big shoutout to them! 🙌🏻 The breakfast was delicious and abundant, there were plenty of vegetarian options as well. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in a modern hotel with a great position and helpful staff.

The room wasn’t equipped with hairdryer but they can lend you while you stay at the hotel if you leave a 20 euro of deposit. This seemed a bit weird to us, since in my opinion it should be a must in a 3 star hotel

The hotel is brand new and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast is excellent and all the staff are very friendly and attentive. The beaches, restaurants and clubs of St. Julian are just a few steps away. There are also bus stops right in front of the hotel with numerous connections to all over the island.

If you are staying for a longer period of time, you have to be prepared for the fact that there is no closet, only a clothes rail. The windows are noise insulated. However, the hotel is located next to a busy street and the club line. So if you are very sensitive to noise, you might still find it annoying.

My room was spacious and clean. The hotel location was perfect for my needs, its in a busy area with bus stop, supermarket, pharmacy and plenty of good restaurants nearby & just a 5 minute walk to Spinola bay on one side & Paceville on the other. Despite the busy surroundings i found it peaceful once the balcony door was closed. There is a good air con system & tv with all the access including netflix. I don't usually watch much tv on holidays but as I was unwell for afew days I was thankful for this! The staff were all lovely in all my dealings with them, which I appreciated. Very happy with my stay & I would definitely stay again.

Bus stop across street, as well as pizza and gelato places. Very convenient. Enjoyed walking along the water to Sliema. Staff at hotel were very friendly. Breakfast was very basic - bread, sliced ham and cheese, fruit salad, yogurt and cereals. Good price for stay plus breakfast.

No hooks or place to hang towels. Rusted toilet cleaner. Bed mattress wasn’t as firm as I like but was okay.

2 persons, 3 nights, Friday-Monday, middle of october'2022. We had a late-checkin and this went very smooth with a code for the door sent prior arrival and an envelop containing information. Following day easy registration at reception and a very good breakfast! Friendly staff and good coffee. Breakfast included cereal, bread, fruit, salad, meat, cheese, yoghurt, hazelnut paste and other. The location is great, there are multiple bus stops in the very immediate vicinity. The TD13 fast lane bus to Valletta costs 3 euro and only takes 17min of bus ride! The area around the hotel is busy and bustling especially on weekends, the hotel is situated next to an Irish pub but has good windows and with the A/C sound the noise is drowned out. You can hear some noise of the neighboring room though. The hotel room (we were on the street side, 6th floor) was spatious with good beds and good bathroom. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon via the Booking app and we had a nice surprise for us :-) great experience!! Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

I had low expectations because of the price but was positively surprised. Good-quality furniture - marble-topped bedside tables, quality velvet armchairs in the dining room, good firm mattress, good size room, highly attentive gentleman running breakfast. Powerful shower. Amazing value for money considering the location, and breakfast and even slippers being included. I'm a light sleeper but, on fourth floor, closing the door to the balcony muffled the noise from revellers outside on Friday and Saturday night. Blackout blinds. Big tv. Bus stop to Valetta and Sliema close at hand. All-night off-licence nearby. Lots of pubs and clubs around. The wall mural was a nice design touch - better than the framed pictures a lot of hotels put up.

Nothing major. Drinking glasses are positioned under the clothes rail so you have to be careful when taking things off the hangers or you could smash something like I did. In high season, it might be nice to have two chairs and a table on the balcony to play cards.

. Staff was extremely helpful, polite and went a step ahead to fulfill the needs. Special thanks to Gordon, Martin! . Location was central and easily accessible with several public and private tour busses. . Room was quite big with nice view of the city and part of the sea from the terrace. . Bed was comfortable.

Cleanliness inside the room was my major issue. E.g. I had to ask at the reception to send somone to clean the room on second day and pickup the garbage. The towel was not clean and had to reach to reception to collect clean towel( which was promptly provided by Martin.thanks to him!) Also observed the sheer curtains were not clean which was unusual for place like G hotel. The key card started giving issues from 3rd day and very last night of the stay, it didn't work for 6/7 tries. I was panicked and reached to reception but it was post 22h. Then somehow after sometime it started working again. Key card needed good attention as well. If these things are fixed then I can say this is one of the nicest hotels l have stayed in.

Do not let the entrance put you off, its a small block of flats like entrance but once you get to the reception/wee breakfast room and to your room, it is well decorated. Good and friendly reception services. Excellent shower pressure. Considering the location, the noise from outside at its loudest was muffled.

The breakfast could be better presented and a better selection of hot drinks. There were a lot of scuff marks on the wall. there was an espresso machine in the room however you are charged a euro a pod. I think at least two should be available at no charge, like tea bag and sachet of coffee.

+ Martin, the owner, is amazing. He is funny, the nicest and a very hard working man. Though he is the owner, you'd see him helping and serving. This is a good example of a Leader. 😉 You'd get the chance to meet him during breakfast time. + If you have some diet, like my husband, it's better to let them know in advance so they can prepare for you. We were lucky because they've got gluten free bread and lactose free stuff. + Natalia was also quick in responding with my queries. 👍🏼 + The hotel is new and clean 🌟🌟🌟 + It's in a perfect location. + I would come back to The G hotel by JL if ever I'd fly in Malta again and I do recommend them. *Maybe just a suggestion with the blanket. It would be great if it's a bit thicker. Or maybe it's just me (I'm always cold)😜. And the place where we could hang clothes would be better if it's not above the mini bar. ☺️✌️ You are 5 stars for me. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nothing bad to say.

The location is perfect, right in the middle of St Julians with quick access to various pubs, restaurants and Spinola Bay. The bus stop is just across the street with lines that takes you to all popular spots on the island. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly, especially Martin, which gave us great advice regarding places to go, where to eat, maps for points of interests and a great dose of happiness.

A small inconvenience might be that the front door requires a code to enter. You can take a photo of it or memorize it for quick access.
