The one-bedroom apartment in which we stayed for 4 nights was exceptional. For some reason, the website refers to it as a King Studio. It is definitely a one-bedroom with a very comfortable king bed with nice sheets and a huge television. The entire place was immaculately clean with excellent air conditioning. The bathroom is modern with a double sink vanity and a very large shower with a wonderful rainfall showerhead. The living room/kitchen area was suited to our needs for making coffee/tea and toast. We had a view of the ocean from the living room window and a lovely outdoor patio with a table and chairs where we would spend the cool early morning watching the sunrise and drinking coffee. We were provided with daily maid service by Carolina who does a terrific job. She brings a fresh jug of filtered water to our fridge every day. There are some very good restaurants within walking distance and we returned to 3 of them multiple times. The beach is also nice and so close although it is too dangerous to swim due to the riptides.

The only thing that marred our vacation was the daily (except Sunday) construction noise going on in the hotel complex. I'm talking very loud drilling to the point we had to leave our hotel suite during the high heat and humidity of mid-day/ afternoon and seek refuge elsewhere.

Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. I booked last minute and got the only available room. Lucky for me, it was an entire, very spacious, stylish, and spotlessly clean apartment with kitchenette, living room, large bedroom and bathroom, small balcony and partial view of the ocean from lounge area inside and from the nicely furnished and landscaped terrace outside (which is basically private as there is only one other unit on that level, both accessed without going through the main hotel/lobby). The rain shower was amazing and basically a room unto itself. Bedroom had super comfortable bed, and was very quiet- I slept great each night. Breakfast at the tiny and lovely cafe (Baral Bar) nextdoor was included in my rate- excellent cappuccino and delicious dishes that the friendly owner and staff made to order each morning. Quick walk to the beach, as well as to grocery store, pharmacy, cafes, etc. Overall a very lovely property and would definitely go back.

The room was large, nicely decorated with Mexican folk art, and had excellent views of the ocean. The beds were comfortable. There was a fridge and a counter where we prepared our continental breakfasts. The common terrace was pretty with different types of potted cactus, a great spot for resting and reading, or having a bite to eat. The hotel's location was perfect for us. We were within easy walking distance of the beach. There is an excellent restaurant, Cynthia's, a coffee/breakfast shop and ice cream shop, all in the same block. A huge grocery store is just across the road. We stayed a week and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff, especially by Marisol, who will happily give suggestions for things to see and do.

I would have preferred to have a table and chairs rather than a desk.

Marisol and her team went above and beyond for our stay! Marisol was outside right when we arrived to welcome us on our first day which I thought was so great. She was so warm and inviting and immediately got us familiar with the hotel and gave us all the info we needed. She even gave us a full length mirror since she knew we were in town for a wedding! Amazing. I also loved all the recommendations she gave for food and local beaches that we could swim in. Palmilla beach was the highlight of our trip! It was so beautiful. I’ve never had the type of personal care and attention to a guest like Marisol and her team gave to us and I was truly impressed. I will be coming back and also recommending this place to everyone I know if they ever come to SJD.

I have nothing negative or critical to say!

Superb location just 1 minute from pure white sandy beach with swimming in the sea possible every day. Marisol is in very close proximity to 3 outstanding reasonably priced restaurants …Barel (best breakfast place I have ever been to and just next door from Marisol), Lateral and Cynthia’s. Marisol’s very friendly owner and staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs including a request for beach chairs. Cul-de-sac location away from main road ensured peaceful / quiet stay. Large hotel room was charming and authentic and had all amenities. Everthing was in good condition. We walked to the center of Cabo San Lucas every day but Uber is cheap ($5) and easy too as an option. We will definitely be going back.

Location is superb - 5 minute walk to the public beach and close enough to hear the waves crashing. Also a 5 minute walk to Le Comer if you need groceries or anything else. In addition, directly below the hotel, there is an excellent chicken takeout place where we got caldo de pollo (chicken soup - perfect for the cold that I had) and good grilled chicken and veggies. The hotel owner is super accommodating and professional. The staff, although they don't speak English (I speak some spanish) are also committed to being of service. The room was clean and spacious.

The bed was hard although tolerable. The owner warned us about tiny ants that will infest any food left out. So we were super careful about not leaving anything for them to munch on and cleaning the dishes that we used. However I left a partly used cough drop wrapped in kleenex beside my bed as I was going to sleep and the ants were all over it in the morning. We were warned!

We only stayed one night after our flight home was cancelled and we needed last minute accommodations. The Good: Kind, gracious, helpful staff (including manager who was so patient with my Spanish skills and willing to converse with me in Spanish despite being totally fluent in English....this is how I improve!); beautiful beach right down the street; lovely entry, courtyard, lobby; large room; good water pressure in the shower; lots of thoughtful personal touches; large balcony with screen door and ocean view (and sound of waves crashing at nighttime); lovely and yummy cafe (Baral Bar) in the same building on the first floor with delicious juices, smoothies, breakfast; great value (if you are looking for luxury accommodations, you may be disappointed, otherwise it's a great place overall);

With more comfortable beds and better quality sheets and towels, it would be 10/10 for me!

If you are looking for a little oasis of traditional Mexico within the tourist strip of San Jose Del Cabo, and you want your money to stay locally, this spot is lovely. It is a small, family-run business with wonderful staff and very personable owners. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. We like to walk, so the location worked well for us, and we were easily able to access nearby grocery stores, local restaurants, public buses to swimmable beaches as well as to Cabo for a day. The front desk arranged an Uber for us to return to the airport on our last day. A big thank you to Marisol and her team!

I highly recommend the Marisol Hotel Boutique! As soon as you check in, the staff and Marisol the hotel owner, are valuable resources and happy to give you the lay of the land, how to get there, and local recommendations. Location couldn't be better. You can safely walk to the historic town of San José del Cabo in about 40 minutes while stopping to eat at the local restaurants. Two thumbs up all around! P.S. Rooms are well represented in the website photos. Comfortable, clean, nice beds and a fridge. Also, take advantage of the sun umbrella for the local beaches. Great hotel if traveling alone too!
