Property was easy to find, very well located just a few blocks from the main square along with many restaurant/bar/shopping options. Staff was very friendly, spoke both English & Spanish and they were on-site and always helpful. I brought my dog and having a little yard for her to wander around in was awesome. I had a car and they provided a secure parking lot a few blocks away. Breakfast was on demand; I had eggs, toasts, beans and coffee - a perfect send-off for the day. Highly recommend for a night or 2 while in the lovely Tlaquepaque area.

I slept with the windows open and could smell cigarette smoke so that was awful. However, it could have been from a neighbor or possibly another guest, wasn't a huge deal though.

Lovely place! Cute, quaint, excellent service. As a woman traveling by myself, they made me feel safe and taken care of. The breakfast was amazing! I wish I had more time to explore the neighborhood because it seemed very lovely as well: cute shops, art galleries, handcrafts and great bars and restaurants.

I'm a little concerned about the lack of A/C. It does cool down at night and I was very comfortable. But it is April. I'm not sure it would be cool enough in the summer, which would be my only concern for staying there in the summer.

The family is very helpful and very attentive. Fresh breakfast every day, made to order. The room was very clean. The public areas are large and beautiful outdoors. Great location.

The bed was hard as a rock. The rest of the room was beautiful and practical. The water from the sink has a taste and odor to it, but the shower was fine. However, this is Mexico so water varies.

I stayed here with my spouse and dog on a stop over for a trip to the mountains south of Guadalajara, and it was great, exceeding my expectations in terms of tranquility and facilities. The parking is off site of the property, due to the nature of the historical neighborhood. It was an easy distance from the hotel, and the neighbors let us park somewhat in their driveway to unload before taking the car to the parking. The dog friendliness was great- there is a central courtyard with the breakfast patio that my pup enjoyed sniffing (and meeting the dog that lives on the property), and then there is a beautiful fenced in backyard too, great for working off some excess energy after a long road trip day. The room was small but functional, and the beds a bit firm but worked for me. Breakfast in the morning is cooked by the onsite host, and was a great simple start to the day. Coffee was pretty good, and I can be snobby about that. Easy walk from the hotel to the main attractions and shops of Tlaquepaque.

No complaints!

I liked that the property was very secure. The owner would open the door for you and then close it. I felt safe knowing that people could not get in so easily.

Everything was amazing. The only thing I could say that must be fixed/improved is the bad smell that comes from the sink when the water is running. That’s the only thing, I would still come back though because everything else makes up for it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa del Retono. The room and gardens were beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and filling, and the owner was a pleasure to talk with. The location was perfect; it was only a very short walk to the main square in Tlaquepaque. We only wish we had another night or two to stay at Casa del Retono.

Nothing.

Lovely B&B, quiet and well located. Charming couple who were hospitable and always willing to help. Breakfast and bottled water were also an added and welcome bonus.

Took a long time for hot water! Note: Though certainly NOT fault of property, there are mosquitoes, so take repellent. Owner will also spray room if asked.

Cute and rustic rooms. Clean. Good value. great location.

We have been to many places in Mexico where the staff lives at the location. The common area felt too much like we were in their space. The entrance area is a kitchen and there is no real lobby area. It was super cluttered and not inviting. The staff was nice, but it really felt like you were interrupting something - it was just kind of awkward.

Loved listening to birds in the garden. The location was perfect, far enough from the heart of town to be quiet but close enough to walk there comfortably. The owners were super accommodating and friendly. I felt invited into their home. I would definately stay again.
