Mount Hutt Motels

Excellent choice, Rooms are not in front of the road as some other Methven's Motel have, but is a little in the background which means very quiet place. VERY Large, confortable room with absolutely everything you need. A kitchen with a door therefore no odor if you cook ;-), everything for cooking. A very large bathroom with a separate big shower very good. Also absolutely no noise from the rooms next. Good welcoming. Very good wifi. We recommand.

Was very quiet, clean and peaceful. Beds were comfortable and clean and the garden area was great especially if you have little ones who need to run! Methven proved to be a beautiful little town with brilliant food especially at the Green Parrot. The motel was a short walk from everything we needed.

The shower pressure was really low and there were no heaters in the shower room which being late winter/early spring was a bit nippy! But the unit itself was warm.

The place was clean and had all needed amenities. Towels, tea and all kitchen utensils provided. Off street parking is available. The place was warm (winter stay).

In winter need to bring slippers, floors can be a tad cold. Got room upgrade , but it wasn't clear enough that some of the space can not be used. Would of preferred to have the room that was booked without the minor misunderstanding. Otherwise staff was friendly, understanding and it was a good trip.

Fantastic friendly owners, walking distance to cares and pubs, close to snow resort (Mt Hutt). Very warm room, and comfy beds.

The shower head was hopeless, providing a random trickle of water that made it difficult to wash yourself easily. Surely there are much better water saving shower heads that can be fitted.

Did not have breakfast. Close to Darfiled and Christchurch and within walking distance to the Mehtven CBD and resturants. Hosts very friendly and helpful, explaining what to do in Methven, location of resturants and hot pools etc.

Nothing to compain about the Motels. Found the price of the hot pools exorbitant for just 2 hours and sorry I would not of paid the price if it was all day. Not when Hanmer is half the price, more pools and all day.

Quiet location & reasonably close to town centre. Walking distance to Opuke Thermal Pools. Friendly & welcoming staff giving us plenty of activity & eatery options. Clean & comfortable motel room.

No big complaints really. Maybe a little dated motel. Lighting could have been better. Pressure in the shower average.

A great room modernly kitted out. We had a soft single bed and a firmer double which perfectly suited our preferences. Staff were friendly and considerate. They had a selection of dvds in the office to borrow which was really fun and we had a great rainy movie night in the room. Room was large and clean. One of the best motels I've been too. Gardens were very pretty too, wish we'd had a bit more sunshine to explore them.

It's slightly too far to walk for a quick jaunt into town, but the distance we were willing to walk was shortened significantly b y the foul weather. The toilet door didn't shut fully, although the bathroom door did so this was a non-issue.

A bouquet of fresh hand picked roses was presented as a gift from the owners for a birthday present. They also recommend a fantastic restaurant they knew was right for us.

One reason for visiting Methven was to visit Opuke hot pools and spa as was given gift voucher. When we got to complex they were to maximum numbers and told that seniors should book for week days, not weekends. We both work part time, the day was my birthday and my daughter had booked us in for that day. They wanted family groups, not seniors.

Lovely setting, old style motel rooms, good heaters and spacious rooms, we were a family of three and had a bed each with plenty of room for all our gear etc. A 30 minute drive to the top of Mount Hutt skifield which was perfect for us.

The only complaint is the shower was a bit weak and after a long cold day it would be nice to have a powerful shower.

Clean rooms, comfy beds, lovely service, nice and handy location, walking distance to everything.

The ONLY thing is low water pressure in the shower, I have long hair and I couldn't wash it due to the trickle of water.
