Kaiteri Lodge

The location is perfect to explore Kaiteriteri. Food, playgrounds, beach etc are all very close. The room is basic as expected but we had enough space for 3. A fan was provided and this was needed throughout the night to keep cool. The shower is showing its age with paint failing but the pressure, size and temperature were good. Some more hooks to hang towels and swim wear would be useful for the number of people staying.

Update the shower. Add some more hooks to hang wet towels and clothes. Air-con would be a bonus or a wall mounted fan in place of the ground planted one. Would be great if Kaiteriteri could support a bike rental business for the nearby trails. The nearest one is Motueka but has limited opening hours over the weekend.

As I travelled to Kaiteriteri in off season, I had the hostel almost all to myself. This being said, I was the only person staying in the dormitory. Kitchen well equipped. Restaurant/bar next door (try the oven-baked pizza!). General store with coffee shop a minutes walk away.

As much as I liked coming to Kaiteriteri in off season, it was a little cold in the room - heater did not do the trick. After taking another blanket from one of the vacant beds I was better. When checking in in the afternoon in off season, no one was around: the key was waiting for me in an envelope. That was fine, but if you need a towel, laundry detergent (yes, there is a guest laundry) you have to call them (even though the sign says "Only in emergency situations"). Someone from the next door bar can help.

Excellent location, very close to the beach and in the centre of town. Dinner restaurant on site, and places for breakfast just next door. Plenty of parking available nearby

It was a bit of a walk from the car to my room, so it took awhile to get everything in and then loaded again at the end. I think I only saw the reception manned once or twice, though there was plenty of information available.

Fantastic location, almost as close to the beach as you can get. We stayed in a family room with ensuite and it was very comfortable. The staff were friendly. Very handy having a restaurant on site. We will definitely be back we are already looking to book for next summer.

Parking is difficult, it's first in first served and parking is very limited. A minor cleanliness issue with the room which is easily sorted and I will contact the property directly about.

Our room was quite big, and the fridge was a decent size with a small freezer. The shared kitchen was huge, with plenty of plates and cutlery. The location was great, just a couple of minutes‘ walk from the beach.

It was extremely noisy at night from nearby restaurants. This, combined with the sweltering temperature in the room, made it very difficult to sleep. There seemed to be space in the room for a small table and chairs, which would have been very useful.

Location is superb. Only steps from the beach, mini golf, cafe, restaurant and fantastic playground. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean.

We booked a room which was advertised as sea view from side window. One window was blocked by trees and another building. The other looked out across the road towards the minigolf and playground. The room was very cramped for four people. It was good we were only staying one night.

Great shower. The room & kitchen facilities had everything we needed for our stay. The common areas were very welcoming.

The ensuite room was lacking functional furniture or surfaces to put anything anywhere. The crockery & kettle took up the only surface in the room, on the top of the fridge, apart from 1 tiny shelving unit serving as a bedside table.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kaiteri Lodge. It was great to be able to use the kitchen facilities to make our own meals as food options are limited in Kaiteriteri. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and the kids liked playing mini putt which was directly across the road.

Our room was road front so it was quite noisy in the evening and night time. Apart from that we could not fault the room.

Everything at the accommodation was great, the rooms, cleanliness, kitchen, Barbeque, etc. So impressed with the place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great, especially at the pool table, we could play a few games.

Since it's summer, it would have been great if the rooms carry air conditioning, or if not, provisioning a table fan would have been great. We were in one of the rooms on the top floor and had to keep the windows open to keep the room cool.

Great location right at the beach (just across the road). Staff was super friendly. Except the shower which was a little run down everything was very clean.

The top bunk bed was positioned right under a lamp. Was afraid to kick it in the middle of the night or hit my head.
