Aotearoa Lodge

Quick drive to town but a bit far to walk. The airport is nearby but small planes only take off during the day which wasn't too disruptive as we were out for most of the days. Very quiet otherwise and you cannot hear any traffic which is lovely. Peaceful spot with birds singing in the trees outside. We were upgraded to a bigger room which was awesome and we had a bigger deck than some of the other rooms which was great.

Our toilet had a gurgle which made me laugh every time we flushed and the aircon faced over our bed so it was hard to find the right temperature on the hot nights.

Fantastic stay of 3 nights in February 2024. Great position and a short drive into the Town Centre. Lovely grounds and super welcoming, friendly and helpful Manager (Choi). We had a two bed room with a lovely veranda overlooking the treed grounds. We utilised the common kitchen and found it to be great. Lovely big common lounge area for guests. Very quiet and peaceful. Ample parking and we really enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

We did not dislike anything.

It was quiet at night, no noise from other occupants, the owner was very hospitable and allowed a later check in so very accomodating much appreciated, exceptionally clean and spotless on arrival, enjoyed the quiet facilities at night, no noise. Also enjoyed being handy to Whitianga town but also felt like could retreat away at accomodation.

Location fine. No breakfast.

Someone knocking on my door at night saying that the walls were 'paper thin' and that the voice from my I-pad movie was too loud and in fixing the problem I can hardly hear any commentary on my I-pad now. Unfortunately she was right. I could hear every movement from the unit she was in next door. I felt like knocking on her door to tell her I'd better not hear her and her man making out!!!!!

the host went above and beyond to accommodate our needs! the deck behind our room was sooooo nice. and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. a quiet and lovely setting

the corner of the room had a bit of a mildew smell and the location is not close to town but there is plenty of parking so it’s no issue really.

Awesome accommodation for our stay in Whitianga. Our apartment was a perfect size for our group and had everything we needed. A lovely property and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back if we're up again :)

I liked the verandah outside the room. It would be nice to sit outside there to eat food and relax, but it was raining and I didn get the opportunity to go out there. I liked the bed also, very comfortable. I had 2 good nights sleep and rest.

I didn like 1 of the cars parking over the white line, taking up 2 carparks. I had to park my car further down from my room. Some people are just inconsiderate of others people.

Nice and quite lodge in a great location - motorway access was super helpful. Our host was so nice and always came out to help us when needed! Room was great, bed's were super comfy! Location is great - less than 5 min to the beach or town by car. Loved it and will definitely stay here again!

Nothing!

We loved the location, it was so central to Whitianga. We also loved the value for money - you can cook there, there's a nice lawn, and the room's were better than expected for its price.

It would have just been ideal if the salt and pepper and tea towels were already in the cupboards ready to go, as opposed to trying to find someone to get it for us. Other than that, it was great stay. Lovely hosts too.

Lovely quiet location - handy to everything but away from any busy activity so super peaceful. Plain but super clean facility. Nice people who run it.

The only thing that lets this property down - I say this every time - is the pitiful shower! There is good water flow & pressure at the bathroom taps - so obviously the showers have been deliberately restricted for flow and pressure. This means every shower is a slow ordeal and not great at all! PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
