The room had a city view as we were on the fifth floor. The pull-out beds for our two boys worked out very comfortably. The queen bed was comfortable as well the blanket was soft and offered 4 pillows. There were three other chairs to put your bags on as there were no dressers. There was a side table with a TV, but there was no connection to offer anything to watch. The bathroom and the room were a good size and kept with the architecture of the building, "the Edge". There was a kettle to make tea or mix espresso, as there was a minibar (for purchase), a small area Food: We saw that there was a QR code to get room service to scan from the menu that was on the card. As you can only order room service through the APP for an additional fee. The menu did not match what was on the card in the hotel. However, the menu online was still lacking everything it offered from the restaurant that was on the 1st floor and we realized given the size and place to eat in the room there wouldn't be anywhere comfortable to eat. So we just opted for one night to eat at the restaurant on the 1st floor. In fact, their restaurant had a great ambience and the Reindeer entree and burgers were good. The staff was so friendly. The breakfast staff in the morning treated you with smiles. The food was delicious and the variety of food such as a waffle bar, cold cuts, bread, warm scrambled eggs, turkey sausages, bacon, Sunnyside egg or hard-boiled, beans, and even an egg casserole, there was also a yogurt bar everything was delicious. The clean-up crew was fast and efficient. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and a part of our morning we truly enjoyed. We are so glad that we choose the breakfast option with our room. The 11th Floor bar is open to ages 20 years and up and only on the weekend. The view is beautiful and it was quite peaceful upstairs.

Modern hotel Comfortable room and bedding (Deluxe) Location close to city center Room very quiet (some guest bangs door but cannot blame hotel for that poor attitude) Excellent breakfast with very comprehensive choice Helpful staff at breakfast area Wifi OK within the property Nice view from room (top floor 12th) Fast elevators (3)

Limited storage in the room to hang and store clothes (we have a lot for 10 nights stay in winter conditions) Cleanliness of the room No place to hang towels in the bathroom (just 3 small hooks/buttons) No phone in the room to ask for any room service, so no service at all, everything you need you have to go to reception Check-in at 3 pm Room rate on the high side No parking (but this is common in Tromso, parking is only public and very expensive indoor or outdoor = 360 to 500 NOK per day depending on usage - longer the car is parked, cheaper it is = 360 NOK/24h maximum for indoor)

The location is excellent … breakfast has lots of hot and cold options and is always maintained. Hotel is very clean and great views from the deluxe rooms off the mountains. If we return to Tromso in the future we will be staying at the clarion edge hotel

We would of eaten more at the bistro but we asked multiple times about crème brûlée as it’s on there menu and they never had it.. and the response from chef he didn’t seem to care in our option which is a shame as we would of eaten there more often. The deluxe room was nice but no where to unpack our clothes just one cupboard. So if there was more room for clothes this room would have been perfect ended up having to leave stuff in the case which I don’t like. Also leaving on the last day we ordered a taxi through there iPad system which was over 20 minutes late and had to book another so that’s something they can look at I appreciate this is not there issues but could use another company.

The rooms had a great view of the harbor. The rooms were very clean. The buffet breakfast was extensive and delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with early check in for one of our two rooms. The sky bar was cool and the I really liked the staff there as well. Plenty of light in the rooms which is a must for me. I hate dimly lit hotel rooms.

We weren’t fans of the open shower stalls as the floor got pretty wet outside the shower but the floors are heated so it dries quickly. Food later in the evening anywhere in the hotel would be appreciated. The luggage storage room is self serve so we were a little apprehensive to leave our luggage there. But all was fine. The door does have a lock that staff have the key for but once you’re in the room it would be relatively easy for someone to take the wrong luggage. We saw a camera which made us feel more at ease

Breakfast and location were excellent. They had ABBA tribute band doing some shows at their function rooms while we were staying there. Was very well decorated for Christmas. Staff were very friendly.

Family room for 4 with the main double bed and twin sofa beds had no space to walk around with the sofa bed open. So, we had to close the sofa bed when we arrived at the room and open it back again before bedtime, close it again when we woke up. But given everything else about this hotel was excellent we really did not mind this inconvenience as we hardly spent much time inside the room.

Great location and splendid views. Pretty much everything you might need is within close walking distance. Furniture's great, the bathroom was nice too.

The AC barely worked in the room: we had to turn it down to 19 C for it to cool a couple of degrees at best. Not really a big problem in Autumn, but the bed blankets were quite thick and therefore hot, so it was a nuisance at night. We could have also done without the hanging lamps with the wooden frames. They barely provide any light, but they are all too easy to bump into, especially the one next to one of the beds. Check-in was also quite slow, because there were plenty of guests arriving and there was only a single trainee manning the reception.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent restaurant and food. Top service from everybody. The sky bar poured me a Cava and made sure it wasn't flat before even giving it to me (can't tell you how many times the opposite normally happens, they know thier stuff!). Clean rooms, gorgeous soaps, shampoo & conditioner even! Glad we upgraded to a bigger room, it was a good size and the basic would probably have been a little claustrophobic.

The room was a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the hotel but still nice and clean. We didn't have the best view, but little things like no milk for tea and a very small selection of tea (There was only one teabag for two of us). Breakfast made up for this! The smart TV did not work (didn't hugely impact our stay, we enjoyed seeing Tromso!)

Great location. Lovely view from our window. Good sized rooms. Clean. The best buffet breakfast I've ever experienced, they literally had every possible option.

Although we had a smart TV, the functionality wasn't turned on so we couldn't stream netflix etc. This surprised me as most of the clientele are tourists who speak a number of different spoken languages, to only offer a handfull of TV stations (mostly all norwegian) was disappointing. It seems like a minor complaint, but given its a bit of a sleepy town with not a lot of activities throughout the day, you end up spending a lot of time in your room. Also, it is encouraged to communicate to the hotel via their text message service, but if you need an answer within 12hrs, I wouldn't recommend it as they're not quick to respond.

We stayed twice in The Edge and our first room has a spectacular view and was very roomy and comfortable (Superior Double). Our second stay was in a superior double but a quirky triangular room which didn’t have the view and was tricky to ‘live’ in. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a wide selection. This hotel is located perfectly for day trips by boat and is within 5-10 mins walk to other meeting points for trips inc snowmobiling etc and to walk into the main area of town.

The second room we had, triangular in shape, wasn’t to the same standard as the first Superior Double we had and was tricky to navigate with luggage etc. The Edge is a very popular hotel and can be very busy but it is well located.

Clean bedroom and bathroom, with all the expected amenities (shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer and even a bonus of ironing board). Excellent buffet breakfast with attentive staff. Front desk was also very polite and helpful.

Room was a very weird shape (triangle) and was awkward to move around in (narrow pathways in some areas). Shape of the room was such that the bed didn't have a side table to put your phone, watch, etc. on. Then, how do you charge your phone overnight? Lots of power outlets but in awkward places, where there was no desk/table. Power outlets in the desk wasn't usable because one side was being used to power the refrigerator.
