The Funny Lion - Coron

Super comfy beds, immaculately clean rooms, fresh juice in your fridge every day, great pool, yummy breakfast, pride rock deck is a fantastic spot for sunsets in the jacuzzi! The staff absolutely make it. Without doubt the loveliest and most helpful hotel staff I have ever experienced.

A bit more vegan consideration on the menu, but I made it work for 5 days.

Nice boutique style hotel in a quiet location just outside Coron Town. Lovely rooftop bar with great views.Nice pool and restaurant area. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.

Our twin room was poorly layed out. There were no bedside tables and only one hard chair. The clothes hanger was by way of a short rail above/in front of the mirror in the sink area. This allowed only short garments to be hung. There was no facility for clothes storage.

They didn’t response back when I messaged them regarding pick up and drop off. I think they are not active in this app that much than in trip advisor.

We had an amazing time at The Funny Lion. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. They helped us book our boat tours, rent a scooter, set up transportation to the ferry terminal and even packed us breakfast as our departure was very early in the morning. The room was very spacious and clean and every day we were surprised with some treat. The food at the restaurant is delicious. The breakfast selection is great with lots of vegetables and freshly cooked eggs to your choice. We also enjoyed our dinner at the bbq party they organized during the weekend. Overall, we are so happy we booked The Funny Lion for our stay in Coron, they made our trip so much more enjoyable.

Wonderful property with the highlight being the staff - shout outs to Ian and Chris Kim and Jay! My wife and I stayed here for a week and couldn’t get the entire week off work so we had a bit of a workcation and the first room we were in didn’t have the best internet (the speeds were fine but not very stable) and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a villa and we had great internet/wifi connection the rest of our stay! So if you need to work during your stay, you should opt to pay for villa The breakfast was included each morning and was a great buffet style that alternated each day and everything was pretty delicious. I enjoyed the coffee a lot which I think was a local brew. The roof top bar had great pizza and a beautiful view with two jacuzzis to relax in - the drinks were also fantastic and all the cocktails were tasty, and the bartender knew what I meant when I asked for less sweet, they delivered (no pun!) Speak of, room service from the restaurant was very good and I enjoyed the burger a lot. Would definitely stay here again if/when we’re back in Coron!

Not many complaints - the wifi was challenging at first but the staff was so accommodating and wonderful to upgrade us to a villa to have a better connection. We did have to ask a few time for certain housekeeping requests - like our sheets changed rather than made over but very minor inconveniences in an overall wonderful stay.

This was our favorite place we stayed in the Philippines. The staff was really lovely. The hotel had so many lovely little extras which set it apart, like fresh fruit drinks in the fridge, turndown service, towels to borrow during daily outings, etc. The pools were great, the spa treatment we had was top-notch, the food in the restaurant was great (I especially want to thank Ian, the F&B Head, who checked in on us every day, and extended great hospitality) and the cocktails at the bar were also excellent. We stayed for a week, and would definitely stay here again if we come back to Coron!

The only downside of this hotel is that there's no gym.

Our stay in Coron was fantastic - so glad we picked the Funny Lion to stay at, away form the hustle and bustle of downtown Coron (which is not the prettiest). The property is great, our room was in a secluded area with direct access to a private pool, hidden away from the main restaurant and hotel pool. On arrival our room was decorated with 'congratulations' on our honeymoon and a special cake left in the room too, which was a really nice touch. Everyday we also received fresh home-made juices and delicious cookies for turn down. The top floor bar with Jacuzzi overlooking the bay was a treat for sunset, while Del was serving us great cocktails each evening. The breakfast was really nice and the team in general provided a great service. Special kudos to Kim, Angel, Paul and Bernard on reception, they really made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. We had in-house massages on two occasions, both times very relaxing - many thanks to Dabs and Marie, we felt so relaxed afterwards. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really can't wait to be back! All the best and thanks again for everything!

Only a small detail that might need reviewing: the pressed coffee provided at breakfast was not the best and there was a charge for coffees made using an espresso machine. Perhaps best to offer any kind of coffees part of the breakfast offer.

We enjoyed our stay at Funny Lion, the staff were so lovely and helpful. The pool area is great for relaxing and I loved the signature cocktail. Great location as there is also tricycles available outside. We also loved the sunset from the rooftop bar!

I do think the hotel was a bit on the pricey side. Also we left the clean up sign on our door and sadly our room didn’t get seen to. Breakfast could have had some more options.

Fantastic stay at the funny lion,had room near a more private pool area,Maya room, excellently fitted out room, luxurious bed and bedding,pool great, breakfast good, location good easy access to shop and transport outside on road, rooftop bar and restaurant with view,the staff superb and attentive to your needs,customer service is amazing,on arrival in room gifts laying on bed, free afternoon snacks at the restaurant,daily treat brought to your room and refrigerator restocked free, souvenir bracelet on departure,tours organised at reception a must see and do especially twin lagoon, kayangan Lake, barracuda lake etc tour all day with delicious lunch, enjoy

We stayed in one of the rooms located by the new pool and loved it. The room is nice and you have a view on the pool and have a quiet area just there. The breakfast is delicious as well as the dinner which you can order a la carte. What stood out most to us however was the service at the hotel. The staff is incredibly well trained and does everything to ensure we have the best stay possible. Unfortunately I got sick and the team helped us arrange a doctor visit, brought me soup and kept checking in with my husband if I am feeling better. This is the most attentive personell I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. You’re in a few minutes in the town of Coron. I would highly recommend the funny lion!
