Everything was so comfortable and the attention to details is exquisite. The bedrooms have Art "themes" such as 'Memory', 'Writing', 'Music' and 'Movement'. They are beautifully decorated. Breakfast was perfect, arranged by the glass window with the sounds of water and nature to keep you company. The details of it were so welcoming (the emoji stickers on the tableware's packet, the tiny pots, the Thermos). It was such a calm place to stay and relax. We absolutely loved it! There are two lagoons nearby which are stunning!

We had a lovely stay in Refugio des Artes. Julio was an amazing host, made us feel very welcome from arrival and was very helpful in planning the exploration of local sights. Place is located in a quiet village but a lot of very interesting sights are easily reached by car. Place was very clean and had a lovely artistic vibe. Highly recommend if you want to stay a bit further away from the biggest tourist crowds.

The owner was so welcoming and friendly! The room we had was super cosy and clean. Beds were comfortable, shower was good too. I loved the area in general, it’s a very lovely place with a lot to see for nature lovers. We loved the breakfast too, we could choose from a lot of options and everything was very tasty!

This is a really unique place, tastefully decorated, and truly art inspired. The beautiful patio with multiple fountains has everything you need to relax. We felt like at he house of a friend or family, as peaceful as a sanctuary. Ed, the owner, is a wonderful host and a truly nice and kind to everyone. The location is very beautiful, a hidden gem in Portugal. However it would be difficult to get around without a car, unless your plans are to do the multiple beautiful hikes (Ed would give you all the information about hem) around the residence. If you have a car, you could easily go to Obidos and Lisbon( about 1 hour), Nazare ( 40 minutes), different beautiful caves, lagoons and many other nature wonders, and beautiful cities. The area reminded us of many other equally beautiful places like Tuscany, some areas around Santa Cruz in Northern California, villages of Extremadura ( Spain), among others.

Perfection is the word to describe this place. Everything here was made with heart and love. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing. It's a lovely property with a very wellcoming energy. Starting with the well maintained garden with zen fountains, going to the main house's common areas filled with artwork to the sound of soft jazz, ending in the bedroom with all the commodities you can think of and more. Excellent and diverse breakfast with homemade jams, eggs, sausages, warm bread, croissants, homemade cake, fruit, you name it. And on top of all this Ed, the host. He takes time to show you around, recommend places to visit, places to eat. He even offered us some wine and sent us home with some fresh herbs from his garden. What else can you ask from a place than to feel completely at home away from home? This is the place.

It was a quiet and restful place, close to all amenities. With nature walks in close proximity. Julio is very professional, friendly and informative. We felt welcome and so did our dog. The house and garden are clean and well looked after.

The building and the grounds were spectacular. We very much enjoyed and appreciated the attention to detail. The main building and all of the outdoor spaces are well constructed, well decorated, and well kept. The host was friendly and accommodating. We loved it!

We really liked the accommodation. Mr. Júlio is very friendly, energetic, with great availability to help and always with a big smile. Breakfast is phenomenal, all freshly made and all locally sourced. We truly loved it. The rooms are very well maintained and are very inviting to stay at home to relax even if we were there to explore the local. The accommodation is well centered. It was all 5 star. 100% recommend.

The communal areas exceeded expectations. There are so many little areas for guests to make themselves comfortable and relax. Our room was large and had a balcony which was a delight. Very clean. Parking was no problem. Breakfast was an additional €8 each but had an extensive list of choices for preorder. We loved this place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Pillows could be more comfortable but minor problem.
