Afrique Boutique Hotel O.R. Tambo

a very precisely selected atmosphere of a one-story hotel and conference complex with a large territory. good cuisine, especially steaks (steaks for every day!), excellent list of local wines. very responsive staff, all requirements and wishes are always fulfilled. convenient location close to my company's office, quiet and safe area. many of Boksburg's attractions are within walking distance. cozy rooms, each with a private patio, curtains completely block out the sun. it was very quiet around, and I woke up to the singing of birds.

Wi-Fi was not very good at first, it disconnected often, then it got better, but also... not super great. the restaurant is open until 4pm on Sundays, which is a little unusual for people of the Northern Hemisphere, but these are the norms of life in this country. the bar is not open 24h... but to be honest it doesn't spoil the stay at the hotel ) very thin partitions between hotel rooms - I could hear my neighbors well ))

This was our 3rd visit over the last couple of years and as before very happy with everything. Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold, great coffee. The room was a good size, clean, and had a comfortable bed. Great shower. We had an excellent dinner with a large group I booked, the restaurant went out of its way to set up the tables and decor for us on short notice. We originally booked for 20 people but when we arrived for dinner we were only 16 and they moved us to a separate room that accommodated 16 people, did not complain about our change just quickly moved the tables and decor over to the new space, excellent food, on time for all 16 together, friendly service.

In the past, on arrival, the fireplace in the lobby during winter was lit and immediately created a welcoming ambiance, when you walked into the bar or lounge area in the dining hall the fireplaces were also always lit, sadly none of the evenings we stayed at the establishment this was the case for the lobby or the lounge. And yes it was more than cold enough in the evenings. So, not a big issue but something that added to our previous stays that made us come back. Since you have a great shower the water ran against the glass, onto the flat tile area, and then off on the other side into the bedroom, so we had to use towels to prevent this from happening the following times we used the shower.

This was my first stay at Afrique Boutique Hotel, and it exceeded my expectations. It is in a very convenient location, close to OR Tambo airport and a few malls. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing with loads of options!! Ample very secure, safe car parking is available on the property. The room was comfortable and well equipped. I have since stayed at the property again as I enjoyed it so much.

Beautiful hotel- gardens with tranquil water features and quiet corners to relax in. Biggest bed I have ever seen in a hotel, crisp white linen, big shower, netflix, toiletries, cupboard to stow luggage and more! Private patio. Grand but classique lobby and dinning area, music tthat creates peaceful atmosphere. Hake, eisbein and calamaric meals all done to perfection. Loved the breakfast. Pool area secluded. .

Not knowing about this gem so close to home. Only booking for 1 night.

Very clean and cozy hotel, nice to stay for new married couples , and it’s restaurant has very delicious foods , thanks chef and his team , all what we have ordered during lunch or dinner was perfect

Nothing ever things perfect

Staff very friendly and efficient. Make it a very welcoming experience. Rooms and comfortable. Very interesting decor and enough sitting areas.

The fact that we were a small group on conference with a very large other group on conference resulted in our group not having food left on the buffet breakfast. The other group had finished all the breakfast by the time we wanted to eat breakfast at 8am.

So I booked the rooms for our company's auditors. This is the 2nd time they were there (They insisted on staying there after the 1st visit last year, so I think that says enough.

Not a complaint: There was a mixup, Afrique didn't know the auditors had to pay for dinners themselves but then offered the dinners free of charge, instead of insisting that they pay on checkout.

Lovely room, huge bed, very clean, great food and creative decor. We felt very safe and comfortable. I was so so happy with the steaks that we ordered.

The food was wonderful but I was craving something a little less rich by the time we left. A few simple healthy options could be added to your amazing menu

The entire presentation of the hotel is very appealing, with a very relaxed setting. Good location, easy drive from airport and surrounding businesses. Restaurant and bar - great!! Staff makes you feel at home!

We had some issues with internet access and if you need to work remotely - this is a MUST. Overall ABH has good internet, but power outages in the region is impacting services across the country.
