Hotel Blu Puerta de Almansa

Reception were very helpful with my general enquiries and taxi bookings. The hotel is a short walking distance from the train and bus stations, the impressive Almansa Castle and a beautiful park Jardine de los reyes catalotica. Numerous amounts of restaurants to choose from within a short walk also.

I'm used to having a kettle and iron available in my room so not being able to have a late evening drink without having to go to the restaraunt was inconvenient for me as was the requested charge of 3 euros per garment for ironing. I was also disappointed that the spa was not in use.

Staff were nice, good paying parking, big room, nice bath tub, and a general godd design in all the hotel spaces, also a good terrace in the ground floor near the road.

The windows had some shades which didn't open, it was not in our room, but several rooms, the mechanism was old and not very effective, this made the room darker than it should. The price, for the city it is, and even there is not in the centre, I think the price was high comparing to the other places we stayed. Breakdfast also price is high.

Staff in the restaurant were great and good value for money , underground car parking easy and plenty of space, reasonable but spaces outside nearby, overall quite pleased and would stay again.

Junior suite ok but had a little difficulty getting daylight due to the outside heavy metal shutters needing wedging but once worked out was OK No shower gel in the dispenser - minor point but too late when your in the shower,

The hotel is modern, the room spacious and well designed. The restaurant is very pleasant and the evening meal was good.

The shower in the bath needed a non-slip mat. I booked this hotel as I had read somewhere, (not on Booking.com), that the hotel had facilities for charging electric cars - it didn't. However, the staff were sympathetic and allowed me to charge overnight from the ordinary electric supply.

Rooms modern and clean, fridge, aircon, location, nice bar area and restaurant. Very nice breakfast.

Breakfast area slow to clear tables, I think lack of staff left people waiting to be seated. TV in bedroom needs to be more international, e.g, not able to switch films to English speak.

It’s still the best you can get in Almansa.Unfortunately the quality is not as it used to be.

The hotel is degrading. No lights in the garage, corridors were not cleaned the whole week I have stayed. I marked one dirt piece when I checked in and till the end of my stay it was still there. The restaurant changed downside ad well.

Super comfy beds, views of the castle, cleanliness, a hearty breakfast, and very friendly staff made our stay perfect. Food (and wine) at the hotel restaurant were also exceptional, with plenty of vegetarian options. The staff was happy to convert some dishes to vegan as well.

Good breakfast buffé and comfortable beds.

No smart TV.

Covid protocol was not upheld. The coffee station was crowded at breakfast. Maybe allocate two areas for coffee. The staff was great dealing with the morning rush. May have needed one additional for person to clear tables and wash tables.

Dinner in the hotel was excellent.

Horrible shutters that cover every window and wont open more than 45° making room permanently dark . wifi didn’t work in our room TV didn’t work
