Hotel Birger Jarl

Loved the hotel, room, breakfast and staff. On walking distance (6 minutes) from subway and 2 stops away from Stockholm central station. The center is about in 20 minutes walking distance. The staff is fantastic, very helpfull. I could store my luggage the whole day because I was flying in the evening at the day from my departure.The breakfast was fantastic, plenty of variety in food and even vegetarian, vegan options. It was difficult for me to choose;-) The room was clean, beds were very comfortable, good shower. I did not miss anything, I had a great time in Stockholm!

The hotel was close to the central station that connects with Arlanda Airport. It is also close enough to the old town and much of the tourist attractions. The rooms are comfortable if compact but more than sufficient for a 4-5 day stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were excellent if occasionally a bit chaotic if the hotel is very busy.

The only minor niggles would be the size of the shower/ toilet, it was a very small wet room. While the facilities were very good and in good order it is definitely a bit tight. A second thing isn't really something I didn't like it was quirky, the room door opened out into the corridor rather than into the room, you had to be careful not to catch someone when leaving the room.

Staff was friendly. The hotel is perfectly located, very close to the city center. Some small details like fresh free drinking water near reception, free apples, safes and fridges in the room, etc. were making the stay quite comfortable. The bed was very soft. WiFi (!!!) was excellent even for streaming! The hotel is situated on a quite street.

The main problem was the automatic door closers. They were so tight and powerful that the doors were closing extra quickly with shock clap. Thus, especially in the morning, the sound of closing doors was constantly heard. That was annoying! To the hotel staff: PLEASE adjust the door closers and install the soft rubbery sealing around the doors.

Good beds, though a bit on the harder side. The bathroom isn't really big and it's a bit weird that the water of the shower in the bathtub can flow freely next to the wall, but it seems an obvious choice and doesn't bother in the end. The breakfast was very nice and had a very wide selection. The restaurant for dinner also provided some very good choices, which were very tasty.

It was a bit of a pity that we didn't have 1 large bed, but rather 2 beds against one another. But since that was mentioned as a possibility during booking, it was what it was. Otherwise, no complaints at all!

Our room was exceptionally clean and had all the amenities we expected. The location was ideal - a quiet neighbourhood, but close to cafes, bars and walking distance into the main centre and the railway station. The breakfast was certainly sufficient and had plenty of choices. We ate one night in the restaurant and it was very nice!

Everything was as listed on the property features and as expected. Our room was a little small, but we knew that when we booked, so would not complain. It was cleaned and serviced each day, so no complaints. Breakfast was very nice, though very crowded - some people had trouble finding a table.

It was located in a nice spot, easily accessible. The staff were amazing, kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet has a great and tasty selection. The hotel fulfilled all our wishes.

Extremely helpful front desk staff, one of which made a personal call to her brother to get the information we needed. The double bed was a true double but very comfortable with firm mattress but soft pillow topper that just made us want to sleep. Breakfast was a very nice Swedish buffet but during peak hours, hard to get a table. It was an easy 25 minute walk to the old city. After two days we took a short Uber ride out of the city to the cruise terminal.

Very small bathroom where the shower drained by where your feet are when sitting on the toilet but otherwise functional.

Everyone in the hotel is extremely friendly and helpful, check in was done really quickly and fast. Our room was good enough and the location is like 5 minutes from a metro station. The highlight of the whole stay was the breakfast, there were so many things to choose from for literally everybody. It was great!

There were 2 small things that could have been better. 1st - the shower was a bit strange, there was no floor cap so the water could kinda go all around the floor. Some of the things were a bit dirty like the phone and one of the towels.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Birger Jarl hotel in Stockholm and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The hotel has a modern and stylish decor with comfortable rooms that are equipped with all the necessary amenities. However, the real highlight of my stay was the breakfast. The buffet had an incredible variety of choices ranging from hot and cold dishes to fresh fruits and pastries. I particularly enjoyed the Swedish pancakes with lingonberry jam, which were simply delicious. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with any queries I had. The location of the hotel is another great advantage, situated in the heart of Stockholm with easy access to public transport and numerous restaurants and shops in the surrounding area. All in all, I would highly recommend Birger Jarl for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Stockholm, with an exceptional breakfast to start the day.

East to find about 5 minutes in a taxi from Central Station/Arlanda Express. The hotel is in a very quiet neighbourhood but close-by the city - 10/15 minute stroll into centre/water-front. Hotel and rooms were spotless and spacious and we were given a free upgrade from a Junior to Full Suite. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

The elevators were rather bizarre and a couple of them were more akin to those you might find in a building site. They worked all fine but were rather industrial and a bit odd. Breakfast at the weekend was very busy and it was quite a struggle to find a table which was a bit tiring. That said, the breakfast fare was excellent and staff were helpful. The bar in reception seemed to close quite early - we thought we would be able to get a drink on our return but it was always closed. It was probably about midnight when we got back so it was not a huge issue!
