Hotel Du Nord

We were walking the Via Francigena so appreciated being able to get early entry to our room when we arrived hot and tired. The staff member, who was a keen outdoors person, was very helpful and pleasant. She kindly provided us with a kettle so we could boil hot water for our tea and coffee.

While all of Switzerland seemed expensive to us after walking through France, this accommodation seemed particularly expensive. On the positive side, the room was very clean and spacious and the staff were cordial and hepful.

Close to station and village centre. Friendly staff. We were able to wait for our train in the lounge area. Room was small but comfortable train going past didn't bother us.

Breakfast is adequate. Nothing to do with hotel really but... Taxi driver overcharged us for our 2 suitcases. We ordered one from the hotel..just check how much they will charge. 25chf to drive to station and we could manage our bags ..just had a sore knee and couldn't walk distance.

Very well located for our walk of the Swiss element of the Via Francigena. Right in the heart of Aigle and near restaurants and bars. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a roof top street view. Breakfast was very adequate.

As our room was at the front and the road outside was busy and sometimes noisy, it didn't worry us too much. There is no A/C in the room we occupied although the information given suggests a portable unit was available on request. It was very hot during our stay. Front desk not manned after 5.00pm or so during our stay.

The room was warm and to have the fan we had in the room aimed at us while we slept we had to plug it in to an outlet that would turn off the fan when we turned out the lights. We had to sleep with a light on to keep the fan going.

A good place in the city to reach everything.

Check in was 4pm. We arrived early and there was no ability to at least drop our luggage off wesat in a bar for 4 hours to wait access into our room. We should have noted this before our arrival day.

Central location, staff helped when they could, clean.

Stayed during the heat wave and I had an upper floor. Still the air conditioner had a control, so I could run it hard until it caught up, then change it.

Staff was superb. Stayed late. Assisted with checkin--even parked our van.

Was there during a heatwave. Rooms were very hot. No A/C. Not surprised though.

Great location. Stylish, modern and comfortable hotel. Rooms a bit small but at this price and location it is inevitable. Will use the hotel again.

Great location in Aigle.

A bit too warm, in mid-June, the fan in the room made it comfortable but any hotter would not be pleasant.

Pillows could be more comfortable.
