Hotel Garni Muralto

All staff we talked to were very friendly and helpful, including with info about the town, recommendations, etc. Room was very nice, *very* clean, and we had a nice view. Hotel was quiet, we never had sound problems from other rooms, and location was great, 5 min stroll to "downtown", the main piazza, restos, etc. Parking was provided off-street in a clean garage to keep car safe. Breakfast buffet was very good, dining room was clean and nice with views of the street, with surprisingly good cappuccino, latte, etc, for auto-machine-made. When we checked in, someone had stolen our parking spot, and staff was very helpful and efficient, went out of their way to resolve it **immediately** for us.

We didn't see any negatives. There is unfortunately nowhere to park for 5 - 10 mins during check-in, you've got to have someone babysit the car, but that is the same with all hotels we stayed with on this trip, it seems very common in Europe.

Hotel is in walking distance to all major restaurants and lake shore. Room was nice ,not to big but perfect for 1 night stay.It also had fully supplied fridge with drinks which was a bonus It was quiet hot ,we didn't realized the room had an central AC. We found out in the morning, but we slept with open windows,so it wasn't that bad. It was our fault after all anyways.... Bathroom was spacious,nice and clean. There is a parking fee of 15 CHF, but that's to be expected for the location. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh, very tasty. Hotel staff and the lady assisting with breakfast all were very nice and pleasant . If we are in the are,we will definitely stay there again

Parking garage spots to tight if you've bigger vehicle

service, location. Being other times in here with family and as well with friends and every time I came back I just see improvement. The reception has an uncomplicated check in, and helpful. Just 5min. walking from Train station, also a parking in the front when I’m by car Very quite and comfortable to sleep.

All my needs was full filled only if their owners could afford it would be a renovation in the lobby and breakfast room. But I’m still happier about it because I can see priorities it is giving to keep the rooms modern. Still my first option in Locarno..

The location of the Garni Muralto was excellent! Very close to the main train station and the old town! After booking, I've requested a parking reservation, and their response was spot-on and very fast. Our room (4th floor) had such a beautiful view, super comfy beds, very clean, modern, and the space and distribution of the room was very comfortable. We liked it a lot, and for the price in Ticino area, super good value! We would definitely go back there, when traveling to Muralto/Locarno area.

The hotel is situated near the train station which is very convient. The room was spacious, with comfy bed, nice balcony and coffee-tea facilities. You have mini bar available for extra charge. Breakfast was very rich and tasty. Staff of the hotel should get extra credits for their work - Mr Norbert at the reception was extremly helpful, he explained where to go, provided additional information upon my questions - great hospitality and customer approach. I fully recommend to stay here.

A great positioned hotel, with lovely friendly reception staff, just a short walk up the hill from the bus and train station and the lake. The lady on reception gave good recommendations, including where to swim in the lake and suggestions on where to eat. She also gave advice on onward transport options. The breakfast in the morning was great too. A buffet style with plenty of lovely fruit, breads, yoghurt, meat, cheese and such like. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for both location, friendliness and comfort.

We came as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers, booked 2 rooms each of which had its own unique view into the city and the lake on the 4th floor. The hotel was modern and new. It had all the conveniences anyone would need and the rooms were efficiently and tastefully designed. Each having an large balcony with sliding glass door and sun shade opening up onto the city with a beautiful southern exposure and lake view from the 4th floor. perfect distance to walk into the city ctr 650 meters or less and up to the Madonna del Saso 1-1.5km. Simply splendid with gracious Hospitality and a full Swiss Buffet Breakfast (included in the room rate). Reserved Parking was also very reasonable at $5-10 per/day as a hotel guest. I would highly recommend it!

The breakfast was excellent and the location close to perfect.

Whist the room was comfortable it was a bit like a luxury prison cell. A foot path ran against the only window in the room we were given and to provide just a little privacy a number of wide, about 12cm, concrete bars were built across the width of the window. See attached photo taken from inside the room. It made me think we had the worse room in the hotel. A note to Booking.com: When a hotel has a variety of rooms, as this one clearly had, how do you more clearly specify the choices open to the prospective customer and ensure he gets it. I believe as a hotel fills up your customers end up with the least desirable room and can do nothing about it because it meets your basic description. It does rather put one off your service.

Lovely comfortable room with balcony overlooking Lake Locarno. Very friendly welcome including advice on the Ticino pass. Good variety at breakfast and gluten free roll specially provided. Staff went above and beyond, especially during violent hail storm. Ideally situated for the train, buses, boats and Piazza.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Garni Muralto in Muralto , Locarno. They provided free public transport pass. They had a nice covered private parking at some extra cost. But you must make the parking reservation beforehand. We took the mountain view rooms and the view from the room was fabulous. The mountains and some part of the lake was visible from the room window and the balcony. The city center and the lake was in walking distance. They have a restaurant in the Piazza Grande where you can avail some discounts if you are staying at the hotel.

Breakfast could have been a little better. Less option.
