Hotel Kreuz by b-smart

Just about everything was perfect - a lovely old hotel that has been tastefully updated. Room exactly as expected, quiet and comfortable. Bathroom modern and real glass drinking glasses were provided. Dinner was excellent at the restaurant, breakfast the usual buffet but well done. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location perfect just up the street from the lake and the center but very quiet neighborhood.

Hated the self check in process - staff needed to help us anyway so having a reception would have just been more in line with the cost of this room and the overall high quality of the hotel itself. The room itself was a bit pricey but still in line with typical Swiss prices. Adding a coffee machine and/or a tea kettle with coffee/tea and cups would have made this stay perfect.

The room was spacious,very clean and comfortable. Excellent location near Lucerne and other attractions like mountain Pilatus. The staff was very friendly. Self check in was super easy. The restaurant was also nice.you can enjoy your dinner in the terasse if the weather is good. We really appreciated the free parking slot.

Good breakfast ,made with local products. Tasty, but I would like a little more variety.

The hotel is in the centre of a lovely village, right by the church and 5 minutes walk from the train station. The bed was comforthable and the bathroom well equipped. The one night the restaurant was open I had an excellent meal. The building has its origins around four hundred years ago but has been refurbished to modern standards

The hotel has lost the concept of personal service. I like to be greeted by a genial host or smiling reception staff to whom I can address any questions I might have. The replacement of real people by automated check-in facilities creates a soul-less environment which some people might like but I dislike. Furthermore to discover a week before I stayed there that the restaurant would be closed on two nights, as indeed were all others in the village. Without a fridge or kettle in the bedroom options were extremely limited. Despite the foregoing I would stay there again.

The view from the room was amazing! We were on the 3rd floor and could see the lake from our room! The breakfast was really good! You could walk down to the lake in 5 minutes and its very peaceful. We were there in peak season but the lake area was mostly empty. Location wise, the bahn station is nearby and so is a ferry station. We had a car so it's perfectly placed to go in the direction of both Lucern and Interlaken. They also let us park for a little more time even after we'd checked out, awesome staff!

The cheese in the breakfast a bit smelly. There were flies inside the hotel but I guess this was true for all of Switzerland.

Hotel was nice, modern and clean, and reasonably priced and close to the lake. It is easy to get there from the main road and not far from mechelse-frutt area. The church is close but the bells are not an issue as some other comments claim. The automatic check-in is super straight forward if you were born after 1950. Breakfast was ok, sufficient.

There are only a few parking spaces next to the hotel. There is a bigger parking lot somewhere but it is not adjacent to the hotel.

Location in Sachseln, close to lake and beautiful mountain views, room size for a family of 4, big comfortable beds, Staff specially the ladies managing the restaurant floor.

1. Male staff member, tending the bar, and tables, was extremely rude. He failed to answer any question/request politely,1 instead has been always offensive. Example - When asked for water, he asked whether your room doesn't have water? 2. Breakfast is quite basic, cereal and scrambled eggs, no option to toast the breads. I'd suggest skipping.

The restaurant at this hotel is fantastic! We had great service despite them being slightly short staffed and the food was superb. The hotel rooms were simple but clean and beautiful to stay in. very close to the lake too

The TV hadn't been set up so there were no channels and it wouldn't let me search for them. Luckily I found a work around to stream to the TV.

In the Junior Suite there was a balcony which was great for sitting out. Room was spacious and we loved having a bath.

The automated check in didn't tell us where our room was or where the breakfast was located - we had to ask the barman. A bus group had been into the buffet breakfast before us: the hostess was replenishing the supply but was curt. More staff needed.

Self check-in - I arrived pretty late and I appreciated that I could do the check-in by myself. Hotel staff was very nice and kind! My room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. There was a room for bicycles.

Self check-in - There was no information where my room was. I had to call them to help me find it. (It was in a different building.) There were no vegetables for breakfast. :-/

The Property is very well situated and placed. Lake view is also magical. unfortunately i stayed only one night but wished i could have done more as i was traveling enjoying the gem of Switzerland so staying in different places. Breakfast was good, room well sized and amenities are good. Thanks for hosting us
